Their care and attention towards me was constant, deep, and real. They really provide the peace and atmosphere that allowed the Doctors and I to do incredible amounts of work and healing. The Doctors too were incredible, talented, and providing a very high standard of care. Food was amazing (yes it's hospital food, adjust your expectations a bit). I had steak, burritos, pho, Thai, lasagna, pasta, bbq, burgers, and more. Across 6 weeks I think they only repeated a dish 4-6 times. And there's a salad bar and panetta/sandwich bar every meal. Many kids ate grilled cheese every meal instead of grown-up food and vegetables, so I would take their complaints with a pinch of salt, hah. Reading the other reviews is amusing. Bear in mind the complaints are coming from sick people, and it is frustrating to not find a silver bullet for very real and severe illnesses. Some people enter thinking this is a spa vacation. It is not. Your healing will require you to do work on yourself as well. The more you invest in the process the more long term success you will realize (I am not a Doctor, but my peers who invested in recovery had similar progress to myself) Mason J 1 month ago Silver Hill took me in when I was at the lowest point in my life. I went to several different programs during my stay and was treated with respect and care the whole time. There were the usual tiny wrinkles that comes with being in a hospital system but overall it was a wonderful hospital that has a lot of different specialties. I would highly recommend if you can afford it or have insurance coverage. I worked with Dr. Emily Haas and Micaela Scully and would also recommend them for trauma care. It has all the amenities you could ask for, with resources to get every aspect of your life back on track. The management and staff cares about you, and that's important when trying to better yourself. They really give you an upper hand. I hope I don't need to, but I would recommend anyone to stay here to get their life back on track, and I would again in a heartbeat. 7 years ago After years of trying everything we could think of, my wife and I finally found Westport House. Our son was admitted quickly and efficiently, and, from that point on, our experience was incredible. After a couple of months we saw a noticeable change in our son. The staff was very timely in their correspondence with us and always treated us appropriately. During his time there, our son became actively involved in Alcoholics Anonymous, obtained employment, and began treating us and others with a level of respect we did not know he was capable of. He stayed there for 7 months, and I can say, it was very much worth every penny. Our son is still sober today and continues to attend the AA meetings that he went to during his time at Westport House. We cannot thank Westport House enough for giving us our son back. After 7 painful years, the change that he was able to make in his life is incredible, and it is all thanks to the great staff and services at Westport House. 7 years ago After being in and out of many different rehabs, it was at Westport House that I learned how to live a brand new life. The staff was kind, loving, and compassionate. They showed me the way up and out of the horrible rut I was in. They also helped my family understand addiction, and what they needed to do to help me, and themselves. The atmosphere is relaxed, comfortable, and the incredibly supportive! I had hernia surgery on June 23rd 2026. Everyone went above and beyond and took extra care of me from doctor that did surgery, nurses and every staff at Huntington hospital. They even let my mom in the recovery room so I wake up I my Mom is there to make me feel safe. I would go to Huntington hospital for anything including physatric mental health problems because everyone is so accommodating and making a special needs adult relaxed and feeling warm welcoming to Huntington hospital. Considering the circumstances 😂 I remember one girl constantly dialing 9-11 from the phone's. I don't remember if the calls went through but she bragged in the room at night.. The food was actually really good we never went to bed hungry they had activities or you can sit in your rooms. They locked the bathrooms during the day. Because a few of the girls would flush stuff down like apples and pencils 😆 🍎 ✏️. We had a menu where we would choose what we wanted for our meals. The ward was clean and the staff was really cool. I remember I got discharged in February it was cold and fit the atmosphere of my current situation. I'm now married and have a daughter. This was a different time in my life. Having been in the mental health field for 10+ years, I have high standards while also recognizing the practical realities of the limitations of the healthcare system. I cannot speak highly enough about Zucker Hillside's RAC. The security guard who directed us to the RAC, allowed us to park in the Internal Medicine on call spot given the urgency, the security guard who personally escorted us to the RAC, the front desk staff who were very informative, the LCSW who was incredibly patient and kind, and the psychiatrist who was also fantastic. I've seen mental health professionals try to cut off patients when they may be going on a tangent for the sake of 'redirection' but both the LCSW and psychiatrist were very understanding and tactful in their approach. I recall the psychiatrist saying "we took the scenic route but we got there" with a gentle smile. While it was a busy waiting room and we didn't have a prebooked appointment, we were seen in a reasonable time frame. From the moment my wife arrived in the PACU, Nicole went above and beyond in every possible way. She stayed with my wife throughout her entire time in the PACU, providing constant care, reassurance, compassion, and genuine kindness. She made us feel cared for, heard, and safe during an incredibly difficult and emotional experience. What stood out most was how genuinely invested Nicole was in my wife's comfort and well-being. She was attentive to everything, answered our questions, explained things whenever we were unsure, and was there for us through every moment. Her presence alone brought an incredible sense of comfort during a situation that was otherwise extremely stressful. As a husband watching his wife go through such a difficult experience, I cannot adequately express how much Nicole's care meant to me personally. Seeing how compassionate and attentive she was toward my wife gave me an enormous sense of reassurance. She didn't simply do her job — she genuinely cared. There are certain healthcare professionals you remember for the rest of your life, and Nicole is absolutely one of those people. We will remember her kindness, warmth, patience, and compassion for years to come. She made a profoundly difficult experience a little easier simply by being there. The rest of the hospital staff was also wonderful. Everyone we encountered was professional, caring, and attentive, and we are extremely grateful for the care my wife received throughout her stay.
