I just experienced the worst month of my life couldn’t keep Liquid or food down form the 3rd to the 27 of October went to Stony brook on the 27th and they actually cared not like the other hospitals I went to they form the moment i stepped foot in the door they realized I was not ok and was extremely dehydrated and was brought right to critical care form that point on they started I v fluids for 3 days and didn’t let me go home until I was able to eat and drink on my own! Kaitlin- Natalie- Stacy - and Cameron were my nurses they went above and beyond for me and I truly appreciate them also the PCAs were all so kind! I will only ever go to stony Brook if I ever need medical attention again completely recommend this hospital to anyone who wants to be cared about! I’ll be hyping this hospital up for the rest of my life to everyone I know!

I wish i could give this a 5 but the doctor knowledge was 50/50. Except dr sultana and my podiatry dr mulwani and Sweeney the pt supervisor. And the training lead James. who was great. The food was not great. How you burn a hcheeseburger to the point it smells a whole room and send that up?! I highly suggest getting on the cbord patient app to order your food as i could make this kitchen and dining experience a whole lot better if i was in charge. The social worker dept was horrible. HERE IS THE 5 star review tho!!!! The true heroes!! THE NURSES ON 14 SOUTH. Jessica, Nikoli, Amie, Bianca, Colin, Chris, Alex, Christine. these nurses are the absolute best in the world. I need to know they are appreciated and applauded for their outstanding knowledge training ability patience and bed side manner. You will always be in my heart for my time there. The world and the WHOLE hospital needs to know them. And these aides Greg, Tess, Mari, Franci, and even tho it was her third day Gabrielle. You ladies made sure I were clean daily. I was less embarrassed. Always checking on me and we kept eachother smiling. You as well need to be appreciated for you being so amazing. Stony Brook Hospital these Nurses and Aides that i named seriously need to be acknowledged from the rooftops. From the bottom of my heart. JC

Family Service League has been a true lifeline for our family. The entire staff is compassionate, professional, and genuinely dedicated to helping people in need. From the moment we met with Robyn and Mary through Joe’ Project, we felt supported. We are incredibly grateful for the guidance and support they’ve provided. I truly don’t know where we would be without them. Cathy and Donna leading our support group have been warm and welcoming and a perfect complement to our time with Joes Project. This team has been a true blessing to our entire family. The staff is warm, caring, and truly committed to helping families and individuals through challenging times. They offer so many valuable resources and programs, even providing resources and guidance to our school district. Everything is handled with professionalism and compassion. You can tell they genuinely care about the people they serve. I’m so grateful for the support they’ve provided and would highly recommend FSL to anyone in need of guidance or assistance.

In a time of overwhelming grief, they provided more than just counseling, they offered genuine compassion, patience, and understanding. I was here as a client in 2020 and I had a pretty positive experience. The staff were professional and caring and many of the groups were interesting. Some staff went above and beyond to help me and I still remember them. My individual therapist was especially wonderful. It’s difficult to find programs that are professional while also being warm and welcoming, but this program was exactly that. There is a lot of structure which can feel strict and limiting, but sometimes that’s what is needed to heal. I would recommend this place above anywhere else I’ve received treatment.

The therapist and nurse practitioner are wonderful. I know that people with mental issues want to need help. My family member asked for help. So far, this group has been excellent, and I see marked improvement. I have nothing but praise for this group and I feel comfortable with them. Again, I read the reviews, and years ago, I went through this kind of therapy with another family member who, no matter how we tried to help, it was always someone else's fault. It was not this group. We are pleased with their help.

I am eternally grateful to the kind folks at Mather Mental Health clinic. When I was unwell, I knew I really needed the help, but at the same time I wasn't sure if I'd get better. Sure enough, here I am years later, writing a review that I feel so much better now! I'd worked with several other therapists before landing at Mather, and I have to say that these people are the best. Most of all, Clara. I'm very, very thankful for the opportunity to work with her and to get better.

I'm glad I went to Mather Mental Health Clinic. I've been treated there since January of this year(2020). I've honestly done a complete 180 since I started. When I started my treatment at the clinic, I felt hopeless, I didn't want to live anymore, I felt like everything I did was never good enough. I've always known I needed help but I was too stubborn to do anything about it. I kept saying, "I'm fine. I will be fine." Obviously I was not fine. Thanks to Clara, the doctors and group, I have control over my life again. They've given me tools that I can use for the rest of my life. I know that there will be bad days, that's part of life. But now I know how to handle them better than before I received help. I'm moving out of state and I wish I could still see them all on zoom but unfortunately their policy doesn't allow it. Special thanks to Clara, Dr. Patel, Dr. Qadri, Alexandra and our group. You are all amazing. Thank you for all your help ❤ I'll miss you all!

My sister-in-law was a patient at Wellbridge four years ago, and her experience there was truly life changing. It had such a profound impact on her that she decided to return—not as a patient, but as a member of the team. Her journey has been an inspiration to our entire family. As a member of a Police Benevolent Association, I’ve had the opportunity to visit Wellbridge since her discharge. It is a beautiful facility, and one where we feel completely confident and comfortable sending our members when they are struggling. We are especially grateful for the development of the First Responders Program. Knowing there is a dedicated space where those who serve can receive compassionate, specialized care means a great deal to us. Wellbridge is making a meaningful difference.

There’s nothing bad I can say about Phoenix House.I was there for almost 6 months and I loved it.If your looking to live sober, this would be a great start on your journey. Most of the staff are caring, compassionate,in recovery themselves and give you sound advice. They offer several programs, there’s vending machines and the food isn’t all that bad.I made several friends that I like to call “winners”.I did what I was taught in recovery...I stuck with them.Thrive was nice enough to come threw and do seminars. We also got to go to thrive and sit threw a few great seminars as well. From my first day to my last,I loved it.Just watch out for the staff member named Paul.On the day I left he stole my belongings.Fucking thief.Lisa is great,Gaston(Awesome),Jess your “the best”,Mike,Jerry..love u all.The nurses and the rest of the staff I love you.Hauppauge Phoenix house...the time of my life.

I was in treatment at Phoenix House for seven months. This review if for the HAUPPAUGE house. PROS: The counseling from most of the staff was excellent one on one. They allow you to have your PHONE after 30 days. You get about $150/mo from the state. Out of house visits every two weeks. A small gym. They will help you with schooling (ACCESS VR). They help you get your license back via the DAR program. They have groups for grief and loss, anger management, relapse prevention, relationships group. CONS: There's no smoking. Most rooms have bunk beds. AA only comes twice per week. The food is not great. A lot of the clients have "jail house" mentalities. Just avoid these people. The facility is old and under funded.

Discovery was an amazing life changing experience. Lisa and Rob (Therapists) are very good at their jobs and very helpful. Lisa however is the best therapist ever. Jacqui is a wonderful program director. She knows what shes doing and 100% makes this program better. She is also very involved with the kids.

My daughter had been to an outpatient PHP prior to entering a residential placement. Upon discharge from residential she returned to the previous PHP. Following a few weeks, my daughter said "Mom, you are sending me to a day care center for adolescents with mental health issues that don't want to get better. This place is not helping me.". How can I ignore that statement? We changed programs immediately and attended the IOP at Discovery Mood and Health in Southport. This program was the perfect fit. Of course, my daughter hated it at first because they made her do the work. She attended IOP for approximately 2.5 months and finally made a change. Jacqui and Rob were amazing! Jacqui was tough but in all the right ways. She held us accountable and did not allow either one of us to make excuses. I don't think we would have made it this far without them.

A family member just spent some time here. The staff on the Horizon unit was great. They were all very friendly. Marisa Kennedy, the social worker, is an absolute angel! She was very communicative. Helped to find quick solutions. If your family member has to be there, you want Marisa on your team.

I've been getting services from this place since I was 12 years old, case management, psychiatry, therapy, and worked with my mom until I became 18 before it became individual. My overall experience was a lot. Positives: I really loved my meetings with the therapist, then-case manager, and psychiatrist. I feel like I've made improvements when it comes to having healthier coping mechanisms, challenging my irrational thinking, attending fun events, giving me short-term relief through events and exploring local areas, recognizing my own needs, and allowing me to function better in social situations and communicate more effectively. The case manager was also very understanding when I made the decision to change from family to be individualized when I became 18 due to my mom's negative reaction and how, despite what she says to them, she has shown no interest or drive in applying her advice. I also appreciate the psychiatrist being able to contact my insurance company when they initially denied my prescription despite providing me with psychiatry in the past. She was very attentive, aware of my background, and a pleasure to speak with. She and the first case manager were the most understanding of my side, feelings, and culture. They were very understanding when I communicated concerns that will be mentioned in the negatives section and are currently helping me find services to transfer to. Negatives: A few months ago, I was unexpectedly switched from my then-case manager to someone completely different. Personally, I have not been able to feel any sort of connection with her. The sessions are substantially shorter than with the first (10–15 minutes VS an hour), and when I try to tell her something, she asks me if I told someone else, what they said, and whether she agrees with them or not. I feel like I can't tell her much, and that the few times we have, nothing gets done. She was also the biggest offender of the main reason I decided to make the decision to discontinue all services: I'm now 20 going on 21, and I felt like, while I made improvements on other aspects of my life, I've never been able to fully process my deep-rooted trauma and my strained relationship with my mom. When my services revolved around both myself and my mom, my mom was highly unresponsive to the feedback given by the case manager and multiple arguments were sprouted as a result. There were several times when I felt my mom wasn't being fully honest to these people, yet I'd constantly feel like I was at fault. Even when it has been shifted to individual treatment, I felt extremely uncomfortable sharing it, as there were a few sessions when I felt that my feelings weren't fully listened to and that my mom's input and influence likely made them biased. Even after they all reassured me, they've kept asking me if they could get my mom's side, which I would refuse each time, and many of these discussions. I do recognize this is a circumstance outside the workers' control, and I'm deeply saddened about how much of an effect it had on my experience. FSL, thank you for all the positive change you managed to give me for so many years. I'm just really sad to know that I now have to look elsewhere for my own well-being, but I hope you all do well!
