This place teaches you that as long as you look outside of yourself for the answers to what’s going on inside yourself you will fail, that being said this place merely gives you the tools of recovery and a guide to use them. That being the main concept at this place is why I believe I finally succeeded. The program counselor is a no BS brilliant educator and will absolutely be an unforgettable force in your recovery. It’s the most affordable place in the country as far as no insurance cash payment. The environment is beautiful, the rules or “expectations” are absolutely understandable if you’re a reasonable adult so moral is always high amongst the guys, the kind of learning you receive is engaging, thought provoking, useful and fun, and also there’s a dog! I used to think the spirituality thing in recovery was corny nonsense. This place taught me it’s the key to leading a healthy life, being the best father, being the best husband, being the best servant of God as I know him. Westley Cain is our maintance man and he is so helpful and kind to the residents. They are great to fix problems in our units. Each Tuesday , Mr Cain go to kings gate and get the residents a plate . Ms. Hayward knocks on each door to give us a plate. They don't have to do this , but they are great and respectful to the residents. I live in the back and sitting on our deck and watching the birds is peaceful. Ms Hayward and Westley Cain work together to make Sierra Gardens one of the best apartment units to live. It is so peaceful to live here and I rate this complex the best among Apartment complexes.in Hamlet and Rockingham. Our secure doors into Sierra Apartments make this complex very safe. She gives you practical tools and skills while also knowing how to get the group engaged and talking. Gianni was also always welcoming and helpful at the front desk. I really appreciated having an evening option that works for people with 9-to-5 jobs. My only suggestion would be to better accommodate evening participants with dinner or more substantial snack options, similar to the daytime programs. After a full workday, it’s a big commitment to attend several hours of programming, and having food available would make it easier to stay focused and present. Approximately 7 months after reaching out, Will made the decision to better his life by accepting Peggy's offer of help. Once his decision was made, Peggy instantly started moving mountains to get him the help he needed. She was in daily contact with his family offering her advice, supplying helpful contact information, and even talking him through his fears when they became too great and he wanted to run. As a result of Peggy's unrelenting quest to help Will, he has received a Certificate of Completion from the Midwood Addiction Program where he received counseling, housing, a sense of community, independence, and gradually took control of his life again. A little over a month after graduating, Will has found employment and is ready to start this new healthy chapter in his life. I can tell you the bad was not only exaggerated but most just someone salty and spreading total BS. There are no rodents and I've never been to a house that had zero bugs not even a fly before I got here, not even my father's house. Ok so these 2 floor some with a upper smoking/ lounge deck are nice nice! 4 bedroom 3 full double sink bathrooms , two with walk-in shower , I bath / shower and a half bath by living room. It's fully stocked with any pans coffee pot anything you need. The staff are some of the nicest ppl and you absolutely get to know them. You are treated pretty much how you treat them. Just be kind! Midwood center was the one I went to and the staff there are always awesome. If you need something just speak up, I've seen ppl come through and expect everyone to be mind readers. I would list everyone I love at Harmony but I'm horrible with names but there are standouts. Christine, Crystn (sik). Byron,Lisa, Miss Gail ( Amber always pushing DBT therapy 😬) Bobby, the tech who's name escapes me that calls everyone "Big Dog) And Lastly but firstly Miss Peggy who is the sweetest person I've ever met and she saved my life just by getting to know me calling my phone to talk to someone else. She had my back and actually drove to Salvation Army and helped me get insurance, talked me into Salvation Army in first place and bought my broke ass two packs of smokes She is absolutely a gift from God and deserves to be the highest paid at Harmony!
