She is exceptional at what she does—warm, attentive, clinically skilled, and genuinely invested in her clients. My experience with her has always been positive, and she is the reason I continue to choose this agency for my care. However, today was the first time I walked into the building and did not receive any greeting or acknowledgment from the front desk staff. I signed in, and although the receptionist looked directly at me, she said nothing—no “hello,” no “how can I help you,” nothing. She was not on the phone or assisting anyone else. After signing in, I walked to the restroom, and I heard the glass window open behind me, so I assumed she was checking my name to confirm my appointment. When I returned to the lobby, there was still no greeting or acknowledgment. Seven minutes past my appointment time, Dorothy came out and apologized, explaining she didn’t know I had arrived. After my session, I returned to the window to request a letter for the VA confirming my appointment. The receptionist stated, “I was going to ask you when you came in if you needed one, but you didn’t because you didn’t even acknowledge me.” This was surprising and disappointing. As a client, it is not my responsibility to initiate professionalism or courtesy at the front desk. This is the first time I’ve encountered this level of unprofessionalism at Genesis, and I hope it is addressed so that the quality of care provided by therapists like Dorothy is matched by the experience at the front desk. I’ll start with scheduling. Once on the schedule, I am able to keep the same appointment day and time every week so I don’t forget it. If I ever have to miss or reschedule, no problem. I am able to call and speak with someone directly or leave a message and my calls are always returned promptly. This is due to the wonderful ladies in the Salisbury office, Stacy and Kacie! These two stay on top of things and if ever I miss an appointment without calling first, they call to check on me to make sure things are okay. They both make need very comfortable and I can tell that they truly care about me and my family. I can’t give them enough praise!!! My therapist, Tal’ Meshia, has been a god send! I, honestly and truly, don’t know what I would do without her! She has been a blessing and has taught me so much about myself and has helped me heal in so many ways. Not just myself but my mother and seven year old daughter look forward to seeing her every week, as well!! I can’t sing enough praise about Genesis! As a result of Peggy's unrelenting quest to help Will, he has received a Certificate of Completion from the Midwood Addiction Program where he received counseling, housing, a sense of community, independence, and gradually took control of his life again. A little over a month after graduating, Will has found employment and is ready to start this new healthy chapter in his life. I can tell you the bad was not only exaggerated but most just someone salty and spreading total BS. There are no rodents and I've never been to a house that had zero bugs not even a fly before I got here, not even my father's house. Ok so these 2 floor some with a upper smoking/ lounge deck are nice nice! 4 bedroom 3 full double sink bathrooms , two with walk-in shower , I bath / shower and a half bath by living room. It's fully stocked with any pans coffee pot anything you need. The staff are some of the nicest ppl and you absolutely get to know them. You are treated pretty much how you treat them. Just be kind! Midwood center was the one I went to and the staff there are always awesome. If you need something just speak up, I've seen ppl come through and expect everyone to be mind readers. I would list everyone I love at Harmony but I'm horrible with names but there are standouts. Christine, Crystn (sik). The therapy incorporates several modalities, including DBT, CBT, Somatic, and Art. The staff made learning skills accessible, engaging, and actually interesting. I appreciated being challenged and I learned skills I hope to keep for life. Working with the somatic therapist they have at Pasadena was beyond amazing. A once in a lifetime experience that I could not have thought to even ask for. I loved the art therapy as well. There is also processing time two-three times a week with the group, and therapists are always available if you need extra one on one support. I really appreciated that unlike other places, Pasadena does not let any one patient dominate the entire processing time. Staff makes sure that everyone who wants to share has equal time and space, that no triggering details are discussed, and that it is supportive without going on forever or taking time away from skill learning or other groups. Shout out to my therapist Shawna for being amazing, as well as Keyonte for his calm kind supportive energy, Carly for always being engaging and encouraging and validating of my background, and Julia for being awesome and sweet! Felicia is an incredible therapist. She is knowledgeable, supportive, and great at creating a group environment that feels both safe and accountable. She gives you practical tools and skills while also knowing how to get the group engaged and talking. Gianni was also always welcoming and helpful at the front desk. I really appreciated having an evening option that works for people with 9-to-5 jobs. My only suggestion would be to better accommodate evening participants with dinner or more substantial snack options, similar to the daytime programs. After a full workday, it’s a big commitment to attend several hours of programming, and having food available would make it easier to stay focused and present.
