Awesome low-cost program with great leadership! I graduated from Dare Challenge in 2011 and have walked free from addiction since. I would recommend this program to anyone willing to seek help and ready for true life change. It's structured and requires you to be engaged, but it will change your life if you recieve what they have to offer.

Dare Challenge helped to save our sons life. He had struggled with addiction off and on for almost ten years. He has been at Dare Challenge for about 5 months. He is clean, sober and sold out for Jesus. His story could have had a much different ending. So thankful that God is still writing our sons story.....

The intensive outpatient groups as well as one-on-one counseling here have changed my life. I think it's important to let the people offering free help know that they've helped. Jessica Z. Is an amazing counselor. I just want everyone to know how much they helped with my substance abuse and mental health problems. I apply the things I've learned from one on one counseling to the groups to my everyday life! 😊

The Port Health Nags Head has been a blessing for many.. there is always bad with the good, but in general they have helped many..including myself, it's not only a place for recovery, or medications, but there is some great counselors that I can attest have helped me work thru many issues over the years, and they are not just there if you have a mental issue, or are in to help a drug addiction..but they also offer great groups that can help women (and men)in toxic relationships, help for using life skills in situations that you cannot do alone, there their for grief counseling.. the groups are for those who sign up weekly and if needed one on one counseling sessions are available.. its not always been easy, and if your new and the 1st experience isn't what you like, remember that's why there is more than 1 person to help you, everyone has different personalities so don't give up or be angry, they also want to help you find the right person that you will get the best experience and help from... I appreciate the front office staff.. Mrs Norma, and others are friendly and helpful..the Dr is wonderful and will do his best if you do need medication to get you on the correct ones to help your condition and help you if you are able to get off as well.. the entire staff have been a blessing for me.. thru the good and bad times.. I recommend you call 1st, for if new you will need to do a intake which is very thorough. I also want to point out they are Covid careful and it's always clean and sanitized as a immune compromised patient I appreciate that. Thanks to all I've known who have helped me over the years. Your top stars to me.

Brad Carter Wow is My first response ! Defeated mentally, emotionally, & Spiritually. Fear & unknown was a big factor at first. But about 7 Days into the program, It hits. We had an Art class that would change my life! Total Honesty! Was able to take my mask off and see clearly. The Councilors were amazing & Loving But would really challenge me to dig deeper. It took about 18 Hrs before i finally surrendered to My Higher power and to self!! Changing Tides & the Community around us were so loving , supportive and became family to me. I know for a fact that its the Best thing ive ever done. Know that it Changed with Surrender and the Changing Tides Group that has Impacted my family and myself. great place. The serenity of the beach, Reflecting with self was a big part of my recovery. The cook out on Sundays with peers that became family and friends. I'm not saying it is easy at all. Because its a brokenness that i created. the CT Team helped me to get the tool Box i needed and need in my daily walk. to be honest i don't really have the words to really explain what Changing Tided Is & Did for me! Also the community of people and meetings i was Blessed to be a part of. So if anyone is looking to surrender a battle. This is the Army i needed beside me. Thank You to the Changing Tides Facility, & everyone involved on this new life & journey. It Takes one step, one moment,& one day at a time. Have a Blessed day sincerely Brad

Changing Tides showed me how to believe in myself again.Spiritual and Mentally they gave me the pieces to put the puzzle(Me) back together, by living a sober healthy and fun life. You can truly function in society with out substances. Even though the road can still be difficult but working the 12 steps is beneficial. Meditation, Yoga, Walking, Excercing etc. The Clinical team works consistently on putting a plan together that suits your needs. Dr.Angel Miller and Cecil Meadows, has worked overtime on my behalf. The staff treated everyone with care, compassion, and support. They are very knowledgeable, not only in sobriety, but in recovery and staying recovered. They analyzed everything from adolescence to current age and helped me understand and identify what kept me sick. They also helped me understand addiction and the importance of a specific discharge plan to support long term recovery. This experience far exceeded my expectations. I’m forever thankful for Changing Tides.

The only reason and I mean the only reason I am giving this five stars is because of my counselor Miss Ell when I I'm telling you this woman has helped me so tremendously she saved my life and my family she helped me stay clean when the actual clinic was not doing what they were supposed to be doing for instance this woman found my papers that were sitting behind the reception desk under stack of paper for almost a week a little back side story I had surgery August 25th when in August 26th and tested for a benzo well they took my take-homes away that I had just gotten so it took me all over a few days to get the hospital to fax over my paperwork well she had found it took it to the doctor the doctor said the medication wasn't on there that I was lying. Well missile took it right back to her and showed her it's right here so again she's the one and only reason I have my take homes she's been working on getting me my take homes once again while moving up in my take-homes and there's one doctor there that's never there so it's next to impossible to get take homes but she made it happen and is still trying to make it happen. All I want to say is you have amazing people that work there that keep getting ran away all the time by the employees there that are just there for a paycheck I'm just thankful that she got me on the path that I need to be on mentally and physically before anything happens to her honestly because from here on out I will continue to do good and I will always think of her
