I've been sober since May 30, 2018 after multiple rehab visits at other places and 2 tours of Stella Maris. Stella is where it finally stuck with me. The entire program is great, and it allowed me time to live in a bubble where I didn't have to worry about my problems in the outside world, and I could just focus on healing myself. I can't thank them enough for providing me with the tools I needed to recover.

I'm leaving next week for sober living. I will have been at Orca for 30 days by then. This place is amazing. This is my 5th time in rehab. The counselors, nurses, and staff are amazing. This is the only place that I have been to that I feel listened to, treated like an adult, and receive excellent information and resources. Also, they let you have your phones and allow you to go out on your own when you have been here for a week. Trust me when I say that I realized, by coming here, what my greatest stumbling block has been in staying sober. The knowledge that I'm taking with me has me very optimistic and positive about my future.

Cleveland, OH | Louis Stokes Cleveland VA Medical Center, in Cleveland, Ohio, offers medical, mental health, and behavioral health care for veterans and their families. Services include medically supervised detox, dual diagnosis care, and inpatient, outpatient, and aftercare services. Dedicated programs for seniors, young adults, postpartum women, persons with hea | Treatments Programs Payment Options | I'll start with the positive. 1. We cannot believe our good fortune in finding Dr. Smilovich in Geriatrics- who helped my severely disabled father finally increase his VA benefits as he deserved after suffering silently from the impacts of Vietnam. She is the GREATEST primary care doctor that we could have ever asked for. We listen to her every word, because she creates a knowledgeable conversation with her patients and even helped us to manage a rare disease known as Myotonic Dystrophy Type 2- which has elevated risks of cardiovascular disease by using Praluent (statins are contradictory for people with this condition).
2. We love the vegan sushi in the cafeteria. We wish that the VA would add more vegan foods because my dad is in assisted living and they cannot cook whatsoever but charge top dollar to literally feed seniors only foods that will kill them quickly.
3. It took a long time to get other things sorted out like transportation- but they did it.
4. Neurology, cardiology, GI, and Audiology have all risen to the challenges that my dad is facing.
5. This VA needs serious structural and facilities upgrades- NOTHING is designed for the hearing impaired to communicate and hearing aids do not work for far too many veterans. The elevators are frequently out. We've walked into clinics with the TV blaring- drowning out any change that my dad could effectively communicate with anyone. And the lack of wheelchairs- or ability to take people in wheelchairs- let them us it for an appointment or attached a walker to it is a MAJOR problem. It was a long struggle to get him a motorized scooter and even then it was tough to figure out the transportation for him and the main street is very narrow- as are a number of the facilities.
6. We also desperately need to get customized taller wheelchairs for taller people- over 6 ft- who can not stand from a sitting position in a regular wheelchair...so we hope that Prosthetics will rise to the challenge too.
For Cleveland area, it's a decent VA- and we're grateful especially after multiple miserable experiences dealing with the Cleveland Clinic. In fact, my dad refuses to go to the Cleveland Clinic now because of the VA ....and even while their facilities need a lot of attention- their doctors and care teams are committed, caring, and have gone out of their way to help us get what he deserves because it has been a horribly long road and no matter what- he always says that the price he paid with his hearing and mobility from combat related injuries is NOT worth any amount of money or free healthcare because he was a brilliant medical researcher for his post- military career. While no one can truly compensate for multiply disabilities and deafness, they can and have succeeded in making his every day life and getting medical care easier and less stressful- and for that we really appreciate the doctors, staff, and people committed to the VA....(and NOT their contractors like Optum- who is part of United Healthcare...). ALL VA FUNDS SHOULD GO BACK TO SUPPORTING DOCTORS AND ADMIN AND FACILITIES OF THE VA- not outsourcing. Outsourcing = corporations stealing the money that WE THE VETERANS EARNED.

My experience at the Edna House was one of the best things that has ever happened to me. From the moment I arrived, I felt a genuine sense of peace and purpose, and I truly experienced the presence of God throughout my time there.
Today, I am proud to say I have been sober for 8 years, and I credit much of that to the foundation I built at from there program. They gave me a new solution to life—one that doesn’t involve drugs or alcohol. More importantly, they showed me how to become a better person, a contributing member of society, and how to rebuild myself as a daughter and a wife.
The women in the house and the support I received there truly saved my life. I will always be eternally grateful for the guidance, structure, and love I was given.
Choosing to go to Edna House is still the best decision I’ve ever made. If you are serious about your sobriety and ready to change your life, I highly recommend this program.

I moved to this town and had been suffering for 1.5 years because the doc I had refused to change my med that wasn't working. The first visit your docs changed up the med and in 2 weeks I was no longer suffering. So Thank you for caring enough to try something different. I suffered unnecessarily for a year and a half...it's difficult to just find a new doc when you are suffering terrible. Moving to GH town and Charak saved me. When docs don't listen or work to find a solution it's difficult but go somewhere else. Advocate for yourself because 1.5 years of suffering that obviously was not necessary is IMHO criminal. I'm getting deeper into my recovery here they're very helpful with programs and avenues. I couldn't be happier with their care today I'm grateful to completed my previous programs at landmark and legends. They all serve a purpose and I say today it's about the willingness to obtain a sponsor, home group, multiple phone numbers and multiple sponsorship. Build relationships with others in the program because it is a "WE" PROGRAM. I see so much negativity on here, I realize that most have never read the chapter "working with others" and they have no gratitude. Y-Haven keep doing what your doing. It's minor things wrong with the place, but overall great program and thank you for keeping the doors open for me and others. I have heat, water, food, safe place, meetings around me.
