Also, they let you have your phones and allow you to go out on your own when you have been here for a week. Trust me when I say that I realized, by coming here, what my greatest stumbling block has been in staying sober. I moved to this town and had been suffering for 1.5 years because the doc I had refused to change my med that wasn't working. The first visit your docs changed up the med and in 2 weeks I was no longer suffering. So Thank you for caring enough to try something different. I suffered unnecessarily for a year and a half...it's difficult to just find a new doc when you are suffering terrible. Moving to GH town and Charak saved me. When docs don't listen or work to find a solution it's difficult but go somewhere else. Advocate for yourself because 1.5 years of suffering that obviously was not necessary is IMHO criminal. I sincerely appreciate all the progress Signature Health has helped me accomplish the last 6 years. Lakewood location in particular has really great staff but like any other Behavioural Health provider, you have to find people you vibe with for therapy and psych. It takes time. Don't get discouraged. It is the best place to be, and I've been working on my mental health for 17 years with a lot of trial and error. Still working on it. They’ve both been very kind and understanding and although I do like my care providers at my regular PCP’s office, I did not feel like my medication needs were being adequately addressed and to come over to signature health I feel more secure and optimistic about getting my needs met. I will leave another review as time goes on but so far my experience has been great! Every single staff member was warm, kind and helpful, even those serving food and doing housekeeping. I was impressed with the food and drink selection. Barb's groups were the best. The huge windows in the common area are a very nice touch. I enjoyed my room - when you consider the necessary safety measures in place, I think you'd rate it five stars. I found that I had anxiety more when we were just sitting around. Great nurses. And Barb is the best. The food is horrendous. For hospital food you would think it would be healthier and of better quality. Outpatient, I wouldn't change a thing. Great program and counselors. Especially Elizabeth. Also, when going to the ER for mental health issues, the area where they hold us is not good. Left alone for 4 hours, except when medical staff visited. Gave me worse anxiety.
