I cannot say enough good about the staff at this hospital. They were patient, compassionate, attentive and went above and beyond for me during my stay after another hospital AND an urgent care failed me. I arrived feeling hopeless, let down and incredibly sick and left feeling hopeful, cared for and immensely better within only a few days.

My five star rating is based on my observation and communication while my 93 years old mom (who doesn't remember much of anything) was being treated for UTI and pneumonia. The staff was phenomenal. The staff in the emergency were great, but special thanks goes to the staff on the 4th floor. Dr. Molla, the nurses (Fraoi, Michelle, Elizabeth, Ramata, Lineth), the techs (Tammie and Mireille). Also, thanks to the kind people taking food orders and those that delivered it. And the cleaning ladies were also very polite. I'm sure I forgot a few but thanks to everyone.

Our daughter was in desperate need of help. Her ED had gotten into a dangerous zone. Out patient therapy was just not enough to bridge the gap for us. We began looking for facilities and this one was semi close. Leaving your child can be very difficult and reading reviews I felt somewhat comfortable with this place. Ilida was really easy to work with. When we arrived, she went through all of the initial paperwork with us and made sure we understood everything before signing. While there our daughter was able to gain weight and understand her relationship with her body image and understand how her eating disorder affected that. The staff was great and quickly developed relationships that were therapeutic with my daughter- helping her use her DBT skills when she would get upset. As a mom, it does your heart good to know that when your child is upset, there is someone there to comfort them when you can’t. She went in having withdrawn into herself, no longer enjoying activities she had previously enjoyed, and as previously mentioned, very sick. She discharged a healthy, happy kiddo! Enjoying activities she hadn’t enjoyed in a long time! The only negative comments I have is that the house was in somewhat of a transition of staff upon our arrival. Our daughter was assigned a virtual therapist & virtual dietician. While both of these individuals were great, we would have much preferred in person facilitation. There were some lapses of communication a few times, but again, staff was/is in transition. When it’s brought to their attention, they are quick to rectify this. At the end of the day, the good definitely outweighs the “bad” and if I had to do it all over again, I would send her there without hesitation. Actually at discharge, our daughter was in tears because while she wanted to come home, she was going to miss several of the staff!

At Sandstone Care Alexandria, we help teens, young adults, and their families overcome challenges with drugs, alcohol, mental health issues, trauma, and addiction in Alexandria, Virginia. Family Group: Family Group was a good way to find time to explore my issues with my family / loved ones, and allowed them to show support in a safe environment. The timing usually worked out so that people with jobs could make it in however there were some scheduling issues early on (due to staff changes) which were resolved. IOP: IOP was a group therapy experience for people of my age range 18-35. Having a community of non judgemental people who may be experiencing similar things and, being able to find solice or advice in the group allowed for personal reflection and growth. Individual therapy: Personally I enjoyed individual therapy, just a 1 on 1 where you can work out your own problems with your therapist. Sandstone has it scheduled for once every two weeks which I personally felt wasn't enough but, once my feelings were known I was told I could change the schedule which I appreciated. Transportation: Transportation can be provided which I used and is safe and reliable. It was helpful for me to get myself on a schedule. Snacks and refreshments: Snacks can be provided but sometimes (due to shortage in supply, not due to staff) snacks are not always available. However refreshments such as water coffee and tea are always available and are helpful. Psychoeducation: This was my first sort of therapy experience ever in my life and I learned a lot about myself and my own brain. Learning how to combat negative thoughts and my own tendencies about reading people has been helpful towards my growth as a human being. Overall I believe sandstone was a great program. But if you are looking to come know that you will only get out as much as you put in. So if you come in unwilling to learn and with a negative attitude, your results might not be as great as if you are ready and willing to change your life. Shout-out to all the staff (as of 08/27/26) these guys are pretty cool.👍

When it comes to Public Sector, you should not mind the wait time. Even if it takes 2 hours to be called. Today I paid an in person visit to inquire about a pending case. The front desk lady greeted me and guided me to the sign in kiosk. I signed in and waited patiently to be called, after 2 hours wait which I don’t mind at all because of the work load and the amount of rush in the office they finally called my initials. The worker guided me to her office and took necessary steps to check the status of my case, she was calm, knowledgeable and had good work ethics. I submitted all the necessary documents and she stamped and collected each one by one. I never expect perfection in public sector or federal agencies. All you need to be is patient, and listen carefully what the public servants point out. I have seen many people complain about DMV as well. Let me tell you something, welcome to the United States of America 🇺🇸, home of the free and mother of bureaucracy. Good luck!

I have been in and out of treatment for 15 years, and this is by far the best recovery center I have ever been to. The staff genuinely care about every client and their well-being. I would not be where I am today without the help of Recovery Unplugged. I had two 30 day visits with them back in 2019 before moving on to a 90 program in Arizona. Everyone was friendly and you felt like you actually mattered. The musical component of it all was life changing and is still a huge support in my life today. It's outside of the box recovery and if you are looking for a place to start, this is it. I'm coming on six years of sustained recovery and now hold a masters in divinity while thriving in Tucson. AZ. None of this would have been possible without Recovery Unplugged and I could not be more grateful for all they provided in early recovery.

Embark Behavioral Health at Tysons Corner, in Vienna, Virginia, offers addiction and behavioral health services to boys and girls between the ages of 12 and 17. They offer several levels of care which all fall under the category of outpatient care. These include standard outpatient care, intensive outpatient care and partial hospitalization care. T
I recently had the opportunity to visit Embark Behavioral Health, and one of the first things that stood out is how convenient the Tysons location is—easy to access, yet set in a way that still feels calm and contained. From the moment I walked in, the space felt intentional and genuinely welcoming—something that’s not always easy to achieve in behavioral health settings. There’s a thoughtful balance here: it’s structured and clearly designed to support meaningful work, while still feeling open, comfortable, and human. What stood out most to me was how the environment supports both focus and connection. There are defined spaces to get things done, but nothing feels closed off or isolating. There’s a sense that people are visible, supported, and part of something shared—whether that’s during structured programming or more informal moments of social connection. Meeting members of the team only reinforced that impression. Everyone I interacted with was engaged, grounded, and clearly invested in the work they’re doing. It gave me confidence not just in the program itself, but in the experience clients and families would have navigating it day to day.

Came to the site to do a tour of the facility. Met the clinical director for the tour, would have given 5 stars but the front desk area was very messy and had a strange odor. This should be addressed soon since it is the first thing you see as you enter.
