I had a great experience at the Forester Center as Tarji Littlejohn is not only a fantastic therapist, but she’s also a very considerate friend. She made sure that I had the right resources and she was always available when I needed. Her group was great but the individual therapy that I had with her was even more meaningful and really helped me open my eyes to the problems that I have and that I’ve continued to get over. I have the most respect for her and how she helped me along with countless other individuals.

I can't really give a rating, since I haven't used their services. I was there to photograph the property for a client who was involved with building the project. But during my experience, the staff I met were very nice. The property is clean and well maintained. And it has a lot of cool amenities and beautiful landscaping.

Doctors and nurses are very nice and friendly. The reason I don’t give 5 stars ⭐️ is because the emergency room is very uncomfortable 🥴 they need to have unless a recliner for the person is taking care a family member. The waiting time is the same as the regional .

This place has been a game changer for me. God led me here, no longer feeling like im riding in the backseat of my sobriety/ cleanliness. Now im driving this train and pulling some folks too.Feels amazing...also want to note how sweet the staff all were, even the couple token sourpusses have their value for sure. The food was actually pretty edible! Not that u really want to eat, but this is an absolute necessity in the beginning as well as sleep and the bed was comfortable enough i was able to sleep another absolute necessity you would be surprised i didnt find at other places, sometimes its about those little things that otherwise would have caused anyone so much more unnecessary uncomfort. Also, plenty of vape breaks, and they give u a good vape for your stay as long as u attend the groups, plz do as many groups as uu possibly can. Thank u again to all the staff, support and to all the beautiful people I met in there. If youre reading this and this would be your first time coming in for something like this boy are uu lucky to have just found this place.PLZZ JUST DO IT! ...RIGHT NOW. I could not be more grateful for the care I received here. The staff are amazing and will make sure that you are always comfortable. You will be respected, heard, and treated with dignity. You won't be dismissed, all your questions will be answered. Be completely honest so that you can receive the exact care that you need. You could not ask for better accomodations or understanding. The environment is immediately welcoming. Its quiet, peaceful. They have everything you need, you really just need clothing. (Its a bit chilly, bring hoodies and fuzzy socks) There are even laundry facilities. You will be provided with a vape or nicotine patches if you use nicotine products. You may rest as much as you need, the staff will let you sleep through the night, vitals are during the day. You can call your family, except for during group meetings. No visitors, but the stay is short. The counselors and peer support specialists are very honest, open, and eager to help you with your personal journey, without being pushy or making you feel rushed. Whether faith based or evidence based care is right for you, that is your choice. There are options for both approaches! The idea of group meetings was terrifying for me, an introvert, an addict full of shame and guilt. You are not obligated to contribute, that was reassuring. But I was surprised at myself for wanting to contribute and engage. It was a bit sad leaving. While here, I was not just a junkie, just an alcoholic, a lost cause, all of the negative adjectives I used to describe myself. I wasn't the things my family called me. I wasn't an echo of the childhood I lost. I wasn't an empty, lonely vessel on autopilot. I was a person. A human. Im more than my story, but sharing our perspectives and caring for each other felt like being part of a family. A family where you aren't the black sheep. It was almost overwhelming to feel that kind of support and HOPE. Ill be honest; When I came in, i wasn't ready to get help. The timing was just right. But very quickly that changed. They made me want to be better. Not for recognition or pats on the back. Not for attention or brownie points. They made me want it because they made me see I deserve it, I deserve to live a good life and be happy. If you are thinking about making some changes, please come here. What do you have to lose?

Best place I have been to by far!!! Fantastic staff, every one was so kind and caring. I really didn't want to leave. If I ever need help again, they will be the 1st place I call!! The only problem I had was, they lost my shoes. Almost brand new, now I have to pay for another pair. I'm on disability and don't have that kind of money to just be wasting, but I have to have shoes. Very disappointed with this.

It took 17 years for my brother’s life to change. 17 years of agony, not only for his family but for himself. Last night my brother graduated from the program and is clean and free for 18 months. I have been going here for a year now and I have had no problems. The difference in Mcleod and otherr clincs is Mcleod is really set up to help you succeed. If you come to people as people and treat the staff with respect and understanding, they will do the same for you. I have dosed at the other clinic in Gastonia before I came to Mcleod and I prefer Mcleod 100 percent. Staff really does care here about your life and your recovery. Abby is wonderful and will do whatever she can to help you if you have a problem, the nurses are all nice and polite, the front desk ladies are always friendly and smiling (even at 5 am), my counselor is great, and the peer support staff (Karen) is wonderful as well. So like the other review said, " you get what you put in,." If you want to have a better quality of life and become and maintain your soberity, go to Mcleod, they have everything there to help you get where you need.

So I was in inpatient treatment, and this nurse Shareema She was a straightup blessing. Every time I had a question she helped gave me a list of doctors I can check up with when I got done with treatment for my blood pressure she had my back tryin to get me away from my bad thoughts She didnt just do her job she went out of her way when the others wasnt trying to She hooked me up with info helped me figure out how to get my Social Security card and even gave me a journal so I could put my thoughts down when my head was all over the place. This teeatmemt center is so different to ones ive been to in the past. They treat you like the human being you are not a number. All the counselors are amazing. If your assigned counselor is occupied and you need to talk, they all listen. If you work your program correctly you can make great improvements with the skills and support you are giving here. I Left August 31st after 5 day detox and a dislocated knee cap. Glad to say I am 26 days clean from alcohol and this place helped amazingly with that. The night nurse Matt is amazing with what he does and how he coaches / teaches you while you’re there, Very informative and through guy. Also love Sam and Amanda very much! how chill of a person they are and interacting with patients so nicely, treated equally and always makes sure you’re good or don’t need anything extra. This place has had its fair share of up-and-down in the last 10 years. But what I can say, is this, There is a counselor named Keith if you were a seasoned addict and you need genuine counselor, I want you to request Keith. This man has been in my life for 10 years, and as I came back-and-forth between clinics, he always became my counselor again. Never judgmental, Always always rational and you can’t help but to put a smile on your face when you’re around him his aura, It is purple. And I’m telling you right now he is a blessing to this place. The program director is also a counselor that has been there for a while and moved her way up. She is also fair and a sweetheart tells me to have a good morning every day. The financial person that does insurance she will work with you as long as you are doing for yourself and trying to make a better way for yourself they will help you. Have had nothing but solid care from this clinic. I don't even live in the States but go back once a year. I make the appointment months in advance online. They send reminders. Staff and Doctors are perfectly fine. If I need to change the date/time for some reason (I usually do), there is never an issue. It's a solid clinic for sure. See ya' in two weeks!

Noticed all the bad reviews have 2 or 3 things in common 1- Felt there should've been (more) reminders to not miss the app. 2- Didn't like their tone. 3- Were tthere 1 or more years ago. Maybe they took these criticisms to heart last year, which is a little before I started visiting, since I get an almost annoying amount of reminders (phone, email, etc) and everyone treats me like family. But I'd like to address these complaints in order: 1- Aren't you a veteran? Have you no shame? When I'm told I'm due anywhere, by anyone, I just need the time/place/uniform from them (uniform= the "why" in the civi world). Sound familiar? I like that they "over-do" it with the reminders now, because missed apps are costly and disruptive, you're inability to manage your schedule and meet your own commitments means less available app slots for me and the rest of us who respected our battle buddies enough to not make them drag us out of the barracks to formation late. You got the last existing phone without a calendar/reminder function?🤨 Grow up, take responsibility, you're embarrassing us. Do push-ups😂 2- People should be nice to each other, but that also means compassion. If you need your health providers to kiss your butt and say my pleasure to every thank you they hear, you're also not being very compassionate. Don't be rude, sure, but as a former healthcare worker experienced in managing Karens, I can tell you the job is hard and underpaid enough to not have any time for extra "retail courtesy", that obviously fake level of servant-like submission to your "masters" (ie customers) some people seem to require as part of their expectation to be "wowed". If their attitude is what cost you (eg they wouldn't talk to you) then yeah, you should speak up, but one review whined that they didn't ask the right questions🤯 Seriously!? OK, so they don't get the CS award, but it's YOUR health! You got something you know you want to tell them, how bout you soldier up and say it then? They're not your boyfriend, and btw, he couldn't read your mind either, so be a (polite) grown up when you remind them they canceled your previous app and it's causing you hardship. They are caring human beings that can (in my experience) be reasoned with, not scrub adorned androids built to massage your delicate ego😉 3- My recent experiences defies older reviews, so I'll give those critical reviews the benefit of doubt and say sorry that happened last year, but my experience these days is different. Sure they can improve, honestly I'd have given them 4stars were it not for the unfair skewing of the average rating that uses old and questionable reviews, but they clearly care, and that's more than I've gotten from lots of fancy looking and expensive private facilities.
