Drove down from Jacksonville for an ENT Consult. The receptionist was pleasant and on the ball, he was quick and professional at all time, even with the difficult vets. Saw DNP Kaminski would was polite, tentative and answered all our questions. She came up with a game plan that we all felt was a good step in the right direction. Glad I made the drive.

Beyond grateful for my two visits here at FRC. I am now coming up just shy of two years sober. I did my two stints at the old facility. The staff is extremely welcoming, the programming is great, and both times met great friends I am still in contact with today. Making the call to get a ride back to FRC after a month long binge, withdrawing in a fetal position on my floor, was the best choice I have made. From spiraling out of control and loosing it all, to building up a new prestigious career, brand new life, and most importantly, my peace of mind. I needed a break. A vacation from the lifestyle I was living. A trip back to reality. I couldn’t bear to live one more hour. FRC gave me it all. Get the hardest part over with. Make the call, you wont regret it.

I can't recommend FRC enough. This organization has truly been a life-changer and life-saver for me. My journey with FRC began in 2007 when I was a patient receiving care. I was at the lowest point in my life after years of substance use and a near fatal suicide attempt. Under the care of Dr. Teitelbaum, The support I found there was instrumental in introducing me to recovery, and I am incredibly grateful for the nearly 18 years of sobriety I have today because of that start. To come full circle and later spend over 12 years working on the incredible FRC Team has given me a unique perspective. I will forever be grateful for having the opportunity to witness firsthand the profound, life-changing work that happens there every single day. My appreciation for FRC, its mission, and its dedicated staff is immense. Unfortunately, I am starting a new job in another city to be closer to my family, but I will always carry FRC with me. If you or a loved one is seeking help, you are in the best possible hands.

"It works, if you work it, so work it, you're worth it!" I came to the Florida Recovery Center a broken man, suicidal, no self-confidence, and a great lack of a sense of purpose and worth. Through intensive individual therapy, group therapy, recreation therapy, in-depth 12 Step assignments and application, CBT (Cognitive Behavior Therapy), a multitude of informative and illuminating lectures (medical, recreational, spiritual, relational), and a greatly supportive community of people all working on the same goal of sobriety and sanity, I have been able to begin my life anew. I am now 90 days sober for the first time in 30 years thanks to FRC (Florida Recovery Center)!!!! I would not be alive to write this review had they not believed in me and, likewise, I had not believed and trusted the process. YOU must surrender to the process, be vulnerable, and be willing to choose LIFE for yourself - a good life without dragging around the heavy burdens of guilt, shame, and regret.....BUT YOU have to be honest with yourself and them or it probably won't work. IT WORKS IF YOU WORK IT SO WORK IT YOU'RE WORTH IT!!!!

Do not let the negative reviews keep you from seeking help here. I admitted myself voluntarily, horrified that the reviews would be accurate, and instead left in a much better and safer place than before. I have heard absolutely horrible things about Meridian and hospitals in northern FL from countless people with years of experience in hospitals. If I felt I needed help again, I would absolutely travel the 2 hours to come here. The most helpful thing is actually participating in therapy. There are many groups a day, and most are optional, but they will urge you to attend. You will leave sooner if you attend, and you will genuinely only improve if you apply yourself without judgement to these groups. They were simple things like gratitude workshops and cognitive distortion worksheets, but they do help. Sometimes they brought in a dog or we painted watercolor pictures. Kind of strange, but you might have to verbally request individual therapy or you won't get it. It's worth it. Therapist Tre and group host Jessica were absolutely wonderful. Also, interacting with the people around you by sharing in group, chatting or by playing card games in the lobby is EXTREMELY HELPFUL. Do not undermine the power of human connection in this kind of facility. I made some good friends of all ages and backgrounds. It was good to hear other people's stories and oftentimes motivating. Psychiatric side gets periods of time where phone calls can be made. They're supposed to be quite short, but time was not strictly enforced unless someone else wanted the phone. Rehab side has to schedule phone calls within the hours. There are visitation hours daily. The food isn't 5-star quality, but has a large variety with a menu you choose from daily. 3 meals a day. Decent selections of decent quality for hospital food; for breakfast, you can get french toast sticks, tea, an orange, and oatmeal as one meal. Plenty of options for dietary restrictions, even a veggie burger. They will encourage you to eat. They also have high calorie shakes they can give you. You are allowed 3 pairs of clothes. Don't bring anything with strings like hoodies or sweatpants. If you have only one pair with you, they have paper scrubs for you to wear while they wash your laundry (overnight usually). You can bring a book or card game. You can ask for extra blankets, socks, toothpaste. They give you a journal + soft pens and markers. SO JOURNAL!! It helps. I did not like the psychiatrist or her nurses. They did not seem to care very much and ask arbitrary questions. They do decide when you get to leave, so be kind and be honest about your improvements. Do not ask to leave!!!!! It does not work and sometimes leads to a longer stay. Also, they will not let you leave in 3 days like the voluntary sheet says. They almost always keep you a week. That's not necessarily a bad thing... you usually need it. The first couple days will be uncomfortable, as they put you in a co-ed space and you will share a room + bathroom with another person— not necessarily of the same gender. It takes some getting used to. They will not put you in a room with anyone who is aggressive of incapable of taking care of themselves, those people typically have separate rooms and are monitored by staff 24/7. They technically won't force you into your room at night either in my experience, but they will have nurses come offer melatonin every 30 minutes. They love giving out melatonin. There are definitely some rude nurses, and we had a minor incident with a nurse that agitated an aggressive patient. If anything happens, they'll send everyone back to their rooms. I never felt unsafe. Majority of the nurses were very sweet, attentive, and helpful. They will answer questions. A few played cards with us. If I had to describe my stay, I would say boring. There is basically no entertainment. The days are long, starting early in the morning and ending late in the evening. There are some poor quality books, puzzles, and cards available. If you have a loved one here, maybe bring them an activity book.

This is one of the best mental facilities you can get help from. They will not let you leave untill you feel better, they medicated me, gave lessons on boundaries, anger management, we read poems, did music therapy, worksheets and games aswell as plant therapy and animal therapy. (got to take a plant home) there were fidget toys and puzzles and i never felt unsafe in the facility because of their guidelines/rules. Group was a wonderful time for me, being able to go outside into the sunlight in the facility was great, i met amazing people with very crazy stories in there, and overall it was a much needed experience to repair my mental health. There are books and a TV to entertain yourself with and they give you journals to encourage you to write. The food was very good, and you are allowed to make phone calls. You will see a doctor every morning. And they also give you soap, a toothbrush, lotion, deodorant and toothpaste. eric needs a raise guys please give him a raise, hes running around everywhere. aswell as jessica, brandon, valaria and suzanne. They are all lovely kind nurses.

Meridian has provided myself and three members of my family with top notch care for the last nine years! Specifically Dr. Straubing! He has always gone above and beyond for his patients and treated them with nothing but kindness and respect! My sister, my brother in law and myself have been seeing him for years and he isn’t just a doctor that throws a prescription at you, he genuinely cares about your life and how your doing in your recovery journey! If I had any issues with scheduling he’s fixed them immediately. Even when it was my own fault for working and having to reschedule last minute because I was called in last minute. He’s always been patient, kind and understanding. If it wasn’t for Dr Straubing and the staff at Meridian I probably wouldn’t be where I am today in my recovery Journey. Neither would my family. takes a while to get in and go through everything to get set up, but they always attend to my needs when I have an episode in office. Wish I didn’t have to cry to get stuff sorted in an appropriate time, but I can’t deescalate when I get to that point unfortunately. All the love to the ladies working in office, very sweet and caring. The psychiatric doctors r quite lazy and don’t really care about their patients, but that’s kind of expected for a mental health clinic. Be nice and respectful to the front desk ladies, they will help you out if you are nice and respectful.

This place has saved my life twice and it’s free. The tough nature of the place is ridiculously overstated. Most of that comes with the fact that people of different ages are together in the same room. This place helps people with guts get back on their feet, it’s their job to be a bit tough on you but they really aren’t. I will always be grateful to this place. People that insult it just don’t understand that you have to change you and sometimes you need to be uncomfortable.

Nurse Connie really went the extra mile to help me at a crucial point in my recovery. Mrs. Maxine was a fantastic 1 on 1 counselor and helped me achieve a spiritual awakening of the "educational variety" while working steps with a sponsor. Ms. Bobbie was a ray of sunshine and Mr. Randy was a wise mediator. Despite a rather unfortunate discharge it was overall a good experience. This place gives you a good opportunity. I look forward to staying sober through the Holidays with my family. Thanks!

You got to be ready. And be mature, but if you reached that point and you seriously are ready I recommend this program. It's hard for someone who doesn't quite understand the addiction or just new to their addiction. It's a struggle but it's a great place for someone who is really ready

I graduated the phoenix house in 2019. The program doesn't focus on Just addictions, but the behavior behind addictions. Unfortunately, most of the people that I went with did not make it because they did not want it bad enough. But out of multiple programs that i've been to, this one will have an everlasting impact on me And my life. I sincerely thank the staff for giving me the best fifteen months.I've ever had. I've been sober now for almost seven years.

The receptionist Cathy was absolutely phenomenal, she went above and beyond to help me and answer all my questions. Getting treatment for PTSD and Trauma is hard to admit to. Going there and being traumatized by outside family members while I was suppose to be healing made the experience even more difficult. My complaints about The Refuge relate to employees clearly not train to care for patients struggling with disorders in mental health. I had a cardiac episode that was barely addressed and if I was lucky, I could see a medical provider once a week even though I understand vitals and voiced for 2 weeks something was wrong. The nurses held an "I know more than you mentality" despite me treating them with patience and respect and having experience in the medical field. The only reason I am giving this place 5 stars is because the therapist themselves and the CEO took my concerns seriously and genuinely cared about healing those who took the program seriously. It kind of seemed like each therapist held a specific personality so clients could learn to both tolerate different personality types, and not let those personalities that they were not compatible with cause them to spiral. Don't get me wrong, there were some therapists and staff members I dreaded dealing with. I quickly realized that if I wanted the program to work and chose to make the sacrifice of prioritizing my healing process. I faced the struggles of being away from my children and having attacks from my closest relatives attempting to sabotage my treatment. The clients there provided support and understanding in a safe environment where I likely would have given up if I wasn't there. I quickly realized that respect towards the staff and accountability to use the tools taught to me was the only way to heal. Sitting around complaining like other clients and expecting to be catered to by complaining about the services would get you no where. I reached a limit with my own therapist but when I started unwrapping buried memories from my childhood, my safe person became Shelley (clinical director) and Stephanie (CEO). You can tell Shelley lives for helping those struggling and Stephanie set the example of leadership that is rare to find these days. Her undercover boss personality to correct the wrongs/complaints about The Refuge often left me wondering when this woman ever went home. The only complaint I submitted pertained to a case manager and Stephanie was immediately on it, as was Shelley. Both made me feel heard when I previously had the habit of shutting down. I left The Refuge feeling like I was worthy of love and being able to love myself. Where I previously protected others, I gained the confidence and tools to protect myself. I never knew trauma was something that could be worked through. I'd always thought it was something I had to carry my whole life and learn to live with. Every business in the world has it's flaws but if you apply yourself while waiting for answers or assistance from therapist and staff members juggling a number of patients, you will progress and leave with something. I left stronger and feeling like a leader. I learned to never judge anyone and even people with a record or past deserve love and grace. People there are seeking help to change and not repeat patterns and I give the utmost respect. Thank you to The Refuge, Stephanie, and Shelley (honorable mention to Jana and Bonnie (who left to chase her dreams)) for restoring my faith in humanity.

The Refuge helped save my life. Just being away from stress helped my depression and anxiety. Certain staff members and clients were part of my healing process. I devoted to eating a healthy diet and started lifting weights again. I've lost 60 lbs and still lift, walk/jog and now I'm walking with a 30 lb rucking backpack. I've been more engaged with my 3 kids and web we've done some really tough hikes. I still have to rise from the ashes because I'm dealing with stuff at home. I'm a hundred and thirty one days sober. Thank you to everyone at the Refuge staff am me clients. I really loved all the help!

I recently saw Dr. Oliva and her staff and I've seen a lot of Doctors over the years but very few have been as awesome as this. Virgina, the Doctors Program Director has been extremely helpful with many diffrent obsticals and she has gone above and beyond to help with everything. She even helped me out during Thanksgiving while she was with her family on the road. Dr. Oliva has been extremly helpful and isn't just there to call the shots but she listens and wants to hear you out and make sure you're happy with you're quality of care. I've been with Quad County for a long time. I have had amazing Counselors. But the one I have now is her name is Melanie Pease. She is like no other councler. She go's far and beyond her job to help me. Melanie Is the reason my recovery goes smoothly and she trys to achieve and help me with my goals in my treatment. To be honest I thank god for giving me a councler that actually cares about the patient and helps us in our recovery. Go to new season and I know it'll be the best thing you ever did they just continue to get better the new stuff is awesome The new coordinator He's on top of everything and my new counselor Melanie she just rocks it I don't know how I don't know how she has so much care for her patients and will work so hard for them and I like my last counselor but I've not seen this kind of devotion in a counselor besides Julio which I've discovered to be tremendously a helpful person in my life his groups just make you be able to get through the week and there's more than one reason to go to groups you know but the reason mainly is to stay clean and get clean and I called it a life changer now it's a game changer because it's completely changed the way I play my game and I get scared of change of new stuff but new seasons they've got it covered because they hire good people so no matter who you get you're in good hands. I urge people who are trying to decide to go or not and have that scale tipping just tip it on in all you got to do is just take that baby step and then the next baby step after that and then it won't be so hard I just don't want to hear any more about these deaths or families lives being ruined it's it's sad and it took me a long time to see it from the other side it's new season who got me to the other side Melanie she rocks it and Mr Tim he seems very on top of it very professional like I said I just do put this on here because I hope if anybody's facing their recovery on the reviews do it you know do it for you and do it at new season even if you don't get Melanie all the other counselors are good Julio I know he's an excellent counselor I know all of the counselors are great people

I came to this looking for help for alcohol and found I really needed the help with mental health care. The staff is absolutely wonderful and the surroundings are so Serene and peaceful. There are no amount of words I could give for the gratitude I have for what this place is giving me back to me in my life. I am truly grateful. I went to Mending Fences to get help with my debilitating anxiety. From the time I arrived at the facility I was met with friendly and compassionate staff. The admission process was very professional, very timely and the staff made me feel safe. Concerning the program, Mending Fences focused on a personal track of a healing process designed specifically for me. I was assigned a Therapist (shout-out to Jeremy) who patiently worked with me to guide me through the healing process. Every therapists that led groups were dedicated to making learning different modalities wether - CBT, ART, OUTSIDE ACTIVITIES, EXERCISE AND MUSIC - Fun and engaging! From playing volleyball, shooting basketball hoops, bon fires and even an open mic night! Unfortunately, due to a health issue I had to leave the program - this was very disheartening for me - but the Psychiatrist , therapists and staff made the exiting process a great experience for me! Just to mention, these people try to accommodate me so that I could continue the program - it amazed me how much effort they put in - thanks 🙏 One last thing the facility and the grounds were beautiful! One last thank you to all the staff, techs , therapists and Doctors who helped me 🙏🙏 Rex

SUPER AWESOME PLACE THAT LIVES UP TO THERE WORD TO MAKE YOU FEEL BETTER THAN WHEN YOU FIRST ARRIVED ALL THE STAFF ARE EXCEPTIONAL AT ALL THE JOBS. JEREMY, MY VETERAN THERIPIST WAS VERY GOOD AT SHOWING ME THE RIGHT ROAD TO RELIEVE MY SYMPTOMS SYMPTOMS OF SOCIAL ANXIETY AND TO BECOME A BETTER PERSON. THE FOOD AND KITCHEN STAFF WAS AWESOME. THE CLEANING/LAUNDRY STAFF ARE ALL GREAT AT THERE JOBS. THE MEDICAL STAFF ARE VERY GOOD AT MAKING YOU FEEL BETTER. JASON WITH ADMISSIONS WAS EXCELLENT AT GETTING INFORMATION I NEEDED. ALL THE MEDICAL TECHS WERE EXCELLENT...I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PLACE AND THEY HAVE AN EXCELLENT VETERAN PROGRAM. I was a client at the TH in September of 2017. I was there as a doc client. I was treated like a person. The counselor I has was AMAZING.She help me learn how to love myself again. I have been sober ever day since leaving the TH. I also have a loving and healthy relationship with my family,kids, and my husband of 2 years.

The Transition House is a great great program! All the counselors and all the behavioral techs care about every single person that walks through the door! Every group is informative and gives you the tools to exceed quality sobriety! This program is not for people who need it, but for people who want it! One of the greatest things I have learned in this program,is I had to change myself and my old behaviors (not just the ones I wanted)...but all of them! I have been here for 5months and I am truly not the same person that walked in the door on December 31! The administration, staff and clients have helped to make the man I am today! Thank you Transition House! I can truly say I love Christopher Stewart!!!

Meridian behavioral health is a literal Godsend. I was court ordered to undergo psychiatric treatment after my brothers Suicide & being stalked/attacked. Besides the Group anger management & the thouroughness of the therapists at meridian, they seem to care about their patients.

Meridian has provided myself and three members of my family with top notch care for the last nine years! Specifically Dr. Straubing! He has always gone above and beyond for his patients and treated them with nothing but kindness and respect! My sister, my brother in law and myself have been seeing him for years and he isn’t just a doctor that throws a prescription at you, he genuinely cares about your life and how your doing in your recovery journey! If I had any issues with scheduling he’s fixed them immediately. Even when it was my own fault for working and having to reschedule last minute because I was called in last minute. He’s always been patient, kind and understanding. If it wasn’t for Dr Straubing and the staff at Meridian I probably wouldn’t be where I am today in my recovery Journey. Neither would my family. So thank you again for all you’ve done Meridian and Dr Straubing!
