I recently completed a 60 day residential treatment program. I can honestly say it was the best thing I've ever done in my life. The first week was rough, settling in, getting to know the clients, staff and all the rules. The food was amazing. The chef prepared meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner Monday-Friday. On the weekends, clients are allowed to make a meal that they're familiar with. It's a great way to have the clients interact with one another. The staff is absolutely AMAZING, they truly care about the clients progress. Each client is assigned a case mgr and a therapist. This is crucial to the clients progress. Client participation is also crucial to success. I highly recommend this treatment center.Jason

| Spirit Mountain Recovery is a private facility located in Eden, Utah. Spirit Mountain Recovery specializes in the treatment of substance abuse, dual diagnosis, alcoholism and mental health. Our philosophy is to provide guidance and support in a consistent, compassionate and non-judgmental way to provide a positive environment for healing. Where Hop | Treatments Programs Payment Options | Spirit Mountain Recovery was nothing short of a life saver for me. Before arriving, I was the kind of guy who thought he knew everything, no one could tell me anything new or how I needed to live my life. But this place gently but powerfully shifted that mindset. Through their guidance, I’ve moved from someone stuck in his ways to someone who is open, growing, and learning every single day.
My experience at Spirit Mountain was fresh and a transformation. It wasn’t just another treatment program for me, it was a complete reset for my life. The environment, the staff, and the support system created a space where I could dig deep, challenge old beliefs, and start building a better version of myself.
Most importantly, Spirit Mountain didn’t just give me the tools for sobriety, they gave me tools to grow as a man and to deepen my spiritual life. Today I’m working everyday to walk a path that’s grounded in purpose and faith, and I’m incredibly grateful for the role this recovery center played in that journey.
Thank you, Spirit Mountain Recovery

Spirit Mountain Recovery has brought joy and gratitude back into my life. I had been to seven treatment centers over the last twelve years prior to coming to SMR. It was explained to me before arriving that their style of programming is a little different than my experience in the past. It is not just a traditional 12-step program. They put in emphasis on experiential therapy that allows clients to get out in the beautiful Utah wilderness every week instead of sitting at the house day in and day out. This aspect of the program has allowed me to rediscover my passion for the outdoors and reignite the fire I had lost for hobbies such as hiking, snowboarding, pickle ball, going to the gym etc. They also give us the opportunity to meet and develop relationships with the local recovery community through going to meetings throughout the week. The staff made the experience for me during my four months I was there. Each staff member from the lowest level position all the up to the owner made themselves available at anytime when needed. It was clear that they all truly cared about each client and came always from a place of compassion and love. The staff to client relationships was unlike anything I’ve experience before in past treatment centers. Most of the staff are in recovery and majority of them are alumni of SMR, so being able to relate to them on a personal level came very easy. Honest recovery work requires a lot of vulnerability and the staff provides a very safe place for this to happen. They have been in the exact spot the clients are in during their recovery journeys so they fully understand the pain and sadness we feel in early sobriety. Lastly, SMR is not done with you when you leave the center. Between the monthly alumni meetings and calls from the staff to check-in, they really want to remain involved within our recovery journeys which allows those important relationships that were built to continue on. This is just another part of the program that separates them from others.
There will always be a special place in my heart for Spirit Mountain. I am forever grateful to this program and the people I met as a result. If you or a loved one is struggling with substance abuse, I highly recommend Spirit Mountain. You will be shown love, acceptance and compassion and will have the opportunity to build a foundation of recovery that can bring a life of peace and serenity that we loose when we are stuck in the pit of substance abuse. I wish I had found Spirit Mountain back in 2013 but am so glad I found it when I did. It changed my life and continues to better my life each and everyday.

It would be dramatic to say that Spirit Mountain Recovery saved my life, BUT they did provide the compass and leadership that lead me along the path to self discovery and healing I so desperately needed to actually begin living life. The staff are almost entirely in recovery themselves or have worked in that field for many years, and most of those in recovery (all but one FT staff member) went through Spirit Mountain. As such, they were not only qualified to light the way but have also lived the journey firsthand and so were able to easily see the pitfalls and challenges that inevitably present themselves and demonstrated daily how to navigate them effectively. All of the activities were ultimately based on learning to live a satisfying life of recovery--living with purpose and joy through connection, willing honesty, and discomfort (where growth happens) without the need for substances to alter what I am truly feeling and thinking in the moment. Being active is an important aspect of the experience at Spirit Mountain, and for me that was hugely beneficial because my additions sucked all of the pleasures of life from me, I no longer desired to do anything but feed the beast. I highly recommend considering Spirit Mountain Recovery if you desire to find out once again, or possibly for the first time, what life can and should be lived like.

Amethyst Center for Healing, and Jana Fulmer changed my life. As a trans person recovering from trauma, this was a safe haven that is irreplaceable. I was given space and tools to start discovering more about myself and how to grow when in a place of pain.I also really respect what they do not only working with victims of violence but those who have hurt others. This reparative justice ethos is inspiring and part of a future that focuses on rehabilitation not punitive systems.I m so much happier with my life, and a lot of that has to do with the empowerment and trust I was given at Amethyst to start making decisions in my life that were more focused and less reactionary. Jana showed true care and empathy towards me, and helped me feel supported and valued. I can t recommend enough!

In the past I haven't had the greatest experiences at clinics due to many factors. Like having too many patients and/or lack of empathy. Their intake processes were always so ridiculous. They would make u jump through 100 hoops just to start dosing. And sometimes if you didn't meet their unrealistic qualifications they would turn u away and tell u to come back another day. But Tranquility Place has put those places to shame! The intake process is easy and painless and goes by quick! They get u to dose right away. They have dr's there each morning to help get u to a comfortable dose. The staff there is beyond helpful, professional, very sweet and personable. Very passionate about what they do there and it shows. Ive never felt judged and I've been met with a lot of compassion. I check in with my counselor maybe once a week for no more than 10-20 min at a time. Groups are available but not mandatory! Each time I dose im in and out in the blink of an eye. Please proofread your reviews!! Incoherent rants do not help anyone determine anything about this place, it only makes the reviewer look like an idiot who can t even write a proper English sentence. You are doing a disservice to everyone who might really need help determining which clinic is right for them. This is a serious medical decision that people are making that could have life and death consequences so please take your reviews more seriously and re-read them for spelling and grammatical errors. I would definitely rate Huntsman s inpatient and IOP as one of the best facilities for that type of treatment in Utah. Huntsman s intensive psychiatric unit felt surprisingly comfortable for what it was. It wasn t as restrictive or strict as other places that I d previously been to, like Salt Lake Behavioral Health. The meals, entertainment, activities and therapy groups had much farther quality than all of the other inpatient psychiatric facilities I had visited in the state. Staff were all empathetic to my reason for seeking treatment, and overall I felt respected and validated by staff and fellow peers in the IOP group and while seeking inpatient at the time of doing so. However, if I could add one note, I would definitely say that HMHI s immediate psychiatric inpatient facilities are more empathetic and by far better than their IOP. The best IOP that I have been to in Utah is Altium Health. It could have also been because I wasn t seeking the correct level of treatment, but if anyone could recommend a good PHP for mental health and/or SUD in Utah, I would be extremely grateful and would be greatly beneficial in my state.

EDIT: It's been almost a year since my last review & I wanted to update it again. I love this place and & the people. Unfortunately, Jerry, who was the owner, had to sell. I met the new owner & he seemed very nice but omg the new systems they're implementing are just so awful & annoying & frustrating. Before we would come in & Susan, the receptionist, who is so sweet, kind, smart, & efficient, would get us checked in & we could literally be in & out in like 3 minutes for real. Now they make u check in on a tablet & there's a TV where they put your # when you're allowed to go back & see Jeff, (the one who gives u your dose). I hate it for a couple reasons, #1- it slows things down A LOT!!! There is always a wait now & it is no longer in & out. #2- it makes u feel like your at the DMV! Waiting for your # to be called, you're not a person, you're a # & it feels so clinical & impersonal. Now one of the things I do like & really appreciate that they've done is if u miss your counseling apt they give u a week to do a group & if u do u don't have to pay a fine. Which I really appreciate. Last Monday the while morning was going awful & all these things came up & I totally spaced & felt so bad about missing my apt but am so grateful I am able to make it up! I'm also grateful Jerry is still there & I still have him as my counselor, he is a wonderful person who u can tell really cares about everyone & never judges. & I'm also so glad Susan is there & Jeff. Jeff is the nurse who gives u your dose, who is also one of my favorite people there. He is so kind, efficient & I love coming every day & getting to see Susan & Jeff cuz they're such wonderful people & I hope they never leave!!! Diane is another staff member who has been there for years & is such an amazing person. As a matter of fact, all the staff there is amazing & I'm grateful to have such wonderful people to be there & support me in my recovery journey. So even though I really don't like the new system (& talking to others, everyone else hates it too & were kind of hoping they'll do away with it after a while when they see how much it slows things down) I will still continue with, I guess it's called True North now because of the people there.

This is the best clinic I've ever been to. The doctors are awesome!Update;I have now been going to Martindale Clinic for over 5 years now.I am happy to say that I'm happier than ever to be going to Martindale Clinic.I know some reviews make it seem like they are negligent answering phones and returning calls, but please remember they serve SO many people that they are constantly busy. But this is actually a testament of how Awesome they really are! To have so many people as patients! Here's some examples of my experiences in these last 5 years;During COVID (2020), I had recently lost my housing, and ended up drinking antifreeze after asking help from The U of U, only for the U to kick me off the property. When I was walking up to Martindale Clinic while drinking from the jug of antifreeze, someone is saw and went in and told the staff. My PCP (Jessica Arbogast) literally came outside with a couple of chairs and sat with me while they called the ambulance.Keep in mind this was at the hight of COVID and as it turned out, I had an active COVID infection. My PCP sat and talked with me the whole time until the ambulance arrived. Then she also directed them to bring me to LDS hospital, since I had just had such a negative experience at the U, and didn't feel safe there even though the U was a bit closer.Jessica also remembers my family members names that I've talked about. She even remembers the problems or encounters that I have talked about regarding not just family, but my day to day experiences.Going to Martindale Clinic to get help with my addiction was possibly the best choice I've ever made and I've been sober for over 4 years now!To the staff at Martindale Clinic, and especially Jessica Arbogast, I want to say this;Thank You SO Much! You have been key in my life getting so much better, and I will always remember your help and kindness! Please if anyone is looking to get away from their addiction, and improve their life...Please.give Martindale Clinic a chance to help you!

They provide inpatient and outp | Treatments Programs Payment Options | Here s my straight scoop. If you re not ready to make a change in your life, no program is going to help you!A few years ago, I attended a very good outpatient IOP in my town. It really went well, but life has its ups and downs, and I found myself a few months ago, lying, sneaking and drinking. My family and I talked and chose SLBH. My wife drove me to the airport and I decided at that point if I was going to give a month of my time, I better give it 100% of my effort. I knew if I hadn t I would never be happy with myself or be able to look at my family. SLBH sent a driver to pick me up at the airport and 15 minutes later I was entering the facility. After going through the check-in process, I was escorted upstairs where I met 15 men and women that were patients just like me. I was also introduced to what I found out would be an awesome staff that worked 24 seven to make sure that I had everything I needed to be successful. The days were long and the nights were short, but the time went by fast. Some of my fellow patients whined from time to time because they were unhappy that they didn t have their phones, and that their doors to their bedroom were locked. But that was all in accordance with state laws. The way I looked at it, if they had started a new job and the boss had rules we all would have to go along with program. I found the food to be very good, maybe at different times I wasn t happy with the menu, but it was still palatable. The kitchen staff was always helpful and we re eager to please us. The doctors and the staff were excellent. The building was very comfortable and very clean. We all became family as some transitioned in and out when they re 30 days were up.I found this experience to be very rewarding and educational. This program helped me immensely to alleviate the alcohol problem that I was experiencing. I look forward to taking what I ve learned from these professionals. For the rest of my life, and I have many friends that I came to know very well and hope to stay in touch with them for years to come!Remember Nothing is perfect, but for those of us who came away with a great experience, I am so thankful for that. For some that didn t I pray that they find what they were looking for before they came here to SLBH.

I have seen both Ej Weston and Lynda Lazar, my son is also seen by Lynda Lazar. I have never felt more heard than when I spoke with them. Ej took the time to listen to me and thoroughly explain his opinion on my diagnosis and medication options. He has been readily available whenever i've needed him. My 17 year old son adores Lynda, she made him feel comfortable and he was able to open up easily. She has personally followed up with me to ask how he is doing. Im very happy with the care that Aloha has provided to me and my family.

I am so grateful to all the staff and my peers here at odyssey IOP here in sugar house. While this journey hasn t been easy by any means, it has been well worth the hard work I ve put in here. Nothing in life that is worth having comes easy. I ve been a heroin addict for almost 30 years and this program has given me the courage and support I need to become the man the world needs me to be. With help from the staff I ve been able to face my fears, identify my emotions and learn how to regulate them, and after being able to do this I was able to really look inside myself and understand more about who I am and why I would always relapse or feel the need to be constantly inebriated. This is my biggest breakthrough so far, because now I am able to work on the root of the problem and face my demons with accountability instead of shame. I owe my life to this program and look forward to the day I get to pay it forward. By investing honestly into my self and my program Odyssey has been there every step of the way to support me and make sure I have everything I need to succeed. I was homeless when I came here fresh out of jail, and I have received help with housing, food, clothing, monthly bus passes to make sure I can make it to all my groups and the biggest gift of all -my sense of self worth. I have learned to love myself and set healthy boundaries (which has made me much more pleasant to be around). After leaving my old life behind I have found a new family here. My peers are amazing and help me every day. I have real friends that I can count on to always be honest and hold me accountable if I start to slip. Also knowing that my peers trust me is priceless. If you are looking for a program know that there s nothing easy about this, but the hard work will pay off almost immediately. At least it has for me and I am eternally grateful for the life I have been given. Thank you Oddesy!

Almost 9 years ago I went to the Haven a lost, broken, homeless soul. I was gifted the ability to be there for months and learn to walk, love, and live on my own. I hadn t known how to do that on my own despite being 28 years old. I was then able to go to sober living and follow up care that was really life changing for me. From leadership down to the peers I was shown up for and taught life lessons I needed to learn. I ve never returned to a drink or drug since, and there have been many hardships in my life since leaving the Haven, but I know how to handle them as they come up and that is because of the program.

This place saved my life. I needed a safe place to stay and was treated with the up most respect. The goal is to stay sober and stay as long as you need (up to 30 days). They also assign you a case worker a few days after you admit. Mine was excellent and the others helped in finding me residential treatment before the 30 days were up. thank you ALL!
