I absolutely love my experience with valley mental health, they were always so reliable and so patient and understanding. Anytime anyone around me mentions therapy I recommend this place. Nicole and Shelly both always go above and beyond and there’s never been a time where I’ve felt like they haven’t actually cared. I feel like I wouldn’t have graduated highschool if it weren’t for them motivating me and pushing me. 10/10

I have been involved with Valley Behavioral health for a little over 2 years now. When I started treatment for drug addiction I was lost and all over the place as far as mental health and my day to day life in general. Thanks to the staff and a couple therapists, as well as my fellow peers that suffer with the disease of addiction. Without the combination of everyone and their advice and vulnerability, this place truly saved my life.

They sometimes visit my work to network and honestly always are really nice and don’t make us feel pressured to use them, which I think is rare to find. Based on my positive interactions I would recommend giving this place a try 👍🏼

The Phoenix saved my life, and I'm not exaggerating. At the beginning of my treatment I was suicidal, apathetic, and rating my depression severity as a 9/10. I went through IOP and PHP and by the end (5 months later) I was happier than I'd ever been, reporting no suicidal ideation and rating my depression severity as a 1/10. Of course - it required self-discipline and hard work on my part, but I couldn't have done it without the amazing staff at the Phoenix. Stacy, Michelle, Jess, Jake, Alisiah, Edward, and Marielle all made recovery easier for me. Danielle Glover was my individual therapist and she was amazing. very compassionate and understanding and taught me things that changed my life. If you are seeking treatment for mental health the Phoenix is a GREAT place!

I came to Deer Hollow carrying years of unresolved trauma and symptoms that had taken over my life. I had tried therapy before, but nothing reached the root of what I was dealing with until I walked through their doors. From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel safe, grounded, and understood in a way I hadn’t experienced anywhere else. Residential treatment was intense, structured, and emotionally heavy at times — but it was also exactly what I needed. The trauma-focused work, especially IFS, helped me understand why I reacted the way I did, where my patterns came from, and how to work with the parts of myself that had been stuck for so long. The therapists were incredibly skilled, patient, and compassionate. They didn’t just teach me tools; they helped me truly heal. Moving through the step-down levels of care gave me time and support to practice what I was learning while still having a clinical team behind me. Each phase built on the one before it, and for the first time, I felt real change happening — not temporary relief, but deep, foundational healing. Deer Hollow didn’t just help me manage my trauma; they helped me reclaim my life. I’m grateful every day that I made the decision to go.

As a professional in the industry, I had the opportunity to tour this beautiful facility. The staff was very welcoming and provided me with great details about their program as they showed me around the buildings, explaining what they could offer to the adolescents they work with. I loved the "adopt a cat" program and the equine services that they offer to their students. It was clear that their mission was to provide excellent treatment to their clients, aiming to set them up for success upon leaving.

The Pathways inpatient facility gave me more than physical safety and care—it gave me something I had never truly known before: true emotional safety. The entire staff worked together to help me grow in the three areas of life that must be engaged—mind, body, and spirit. I walked in carrying a heavy prejudice against all men, but it was three men in particular who ended up aiding me the most, showing me that at our core, we really are all just human. My main therapist, Daryl, guided me through reshaping my mindset and digging into my past to uncover my deepest wounds. He stood by me on one of the most emotionally painful days of my life, and I will never forget Destiny—one of the incredible nurses—literally running after him as he was about to head home, just so he could be there for me in that moment. Dr. Sellers provided me with the best medical care I could have asked for. He never rushed through visits, always taking the time to explain not just what he was doing, but why—making sure I understood and felt safe with my treatment. I also want to thank Dawn, a powerhouse nurse who believed in my strength even when I couldn’t see it myself, and who pushed me to rise to the challenge. Michael Ryan gave me the gift of faith and clarity in my higher power. He challenged me in ways I desperately needed, helping me confront the destructive core beliefs that caused me so much suffering and turn them upside down. He gave me the tools to question my own thoughts, and to approach them with both curiosity and compassion. Somehow, even in the middle of facing the hardest truths, he still managed to make me laugh and feel safe. I would also like to thank Lonnie, whose powerful meditation sessions left a deep impact on me. His encouragement meant so much because it came from a place of such authenticity. To all of you—thank you not just for changing my life, but for teaching me how to truly live it to the fullest.

There are many wonderful organizations and people in service to helping others with treatment and recovery. For me, the right fit was, is, and will continue to be Pathways. These folks are authentic in their desire to help change lives. They are some of the most remarkable humans I have been blessed with coming across in life. They are talented and skilled, and well equipped to meet mental health and substance abuse needs. They are particularly experienced with integrating well-rounded trauma focused treatment, using a variety of evidence based treatment modalities. Pathways staff AND clients create a safe space of healing and growth, and a place of acceptance and belonging, and without judgement. As a pathways client, I feel a sense of unity, community, and unyielding support. Pathways has LITERALLY saved my life. They have helped me find healing, and open doors to change my life. They have equipped me with the confidence, strength, tools, and understanding of my root influences to my recovery needs to live a new life, my best life! A life of healing and happiness I have never experienced before. I will be in eternal gratitude for this very sacred organization. Schedule a consult... you have nothing to lose and only a healthy and happy life to gain. You are not alone. There IS hope!

I went to Brunswick exhausted, malnourished, and on the brink of a nervous breakdown. My marriage was ending because of Infedelity and I started drinking heavily. They made me feel safe, gave me a place to improve my health, Therapist that I could talk with and taught me skills to use when I was feeling overwhelmed in life. Not my first rodeo. I have been through a few rehabilitation programs with several local treatment centers in Salt Lake City. Recovery Ways at Brunswick was equipped with staff that has experience and multiple tools to assist in the recovery process. The step down progression and support is second to none. I have memories and friends from my short time that I will carry for a lifetime. I am sober today in part because of the staff and resources I was gifted on my day of surrender. Highly recommended and even though the commitment seems daunting, the experience will enhance your life skills and provide ample suggestions to assist in a fight for life outside addiction.

I began Deer Hollow’s outpatient program after completing residential treatment, and it became one of the most meaningful phases of my healing. Outpatient gave me the structure and support I still needed, while also allowing me to start rebuilding my life outside of treatment. The therapists at Deer Hollow are incredible. They understand trauma on a level I’ve never experienced before, and they know how to create a safe space where you can go deep without feeling overwhelmed or judged. The work we did — especially IFS and the group sessions — helped me continue unraveling the patterns and protective parts that had controlled so much of my life. What made outpatient so powerful for me was the combination of accountability, connection, and continued therapeutic intensity. I was able to practice real-world coping skills during the week and then bring what came up back into group and individual therapy. It felt like a bridge between treatment and everyday life, and it gave me confidence I didn’t have before. The community is also something special. Being surrounded by people who understand trauma, who get the ups and downs, and who are all working toward healing made me feel less alone. I built relationships there that still support me today. Deer Hollow’s outpatient program helped me solidify the progress I made in residential and gave me the tools to live with clarity, stability, and hope. I’m genuinely grateful for the care and compassion I received during this part of my journey.

Going to Recovery Ways was, for me, literally a life-saving experience. I walked in there a total shaking wreck, heavily dependent on alcohol and in the process of dying, with undiagnosed and untreated mental health issues that led to my drinking. I spent 4 days in detox, getting my physical health back and decided to spend 28 days in residential treatment there. The staff were all experienced, and many of them have been in successful recovery themselves. The treatment I received there was compassionate and effective. I learned things about myself that I had been hiding from my whole life. I was able to heal old traumas and evolve into the person I want to be, rather than the person I accidentally became. I also had FUN and connected with people that will probably be lifelong friends, After residential treatment I went into their Partial Hospitalization Program and continued to receive education and help in building healthy thoughts and habits. I learned to respond to life, rather than reacting to it. My anxiety and depression melted away, layer by layer as I turned into a more effective and happy version of myself. Today I am 4 months sober, but I've learned that sobriety is just a side-effect of living the life that I choose. I do not believe that I could have done this without the wonderful humans at Recovery Ways, and all the care and love (and FUN) they shared with me. Highly recommended. And don't listen to the talk about the food. My nutritional skills also improved as a result of living there for 60 days. It may not be Club-Med, but that's not the purpose of being there. (They serve a salsa there that is better than I have ever had anywhere else.)

I voluntarily admitted myself to Recovery Ways in September 2023. When I was calling about admissions I was staying in the behavioral unit of St. Marks Hospital, and Recovery Ways made accommodations for one of their team members to pick me up straight from the hospital. In-take was very fast. The staff at Recovery Ways Residential Care (Copper Hills) were very nice and friendly. They were able to make professional connections to each client, including myself. Although they weren't qualified to make treatment plans, diagnosis etc. they offered to have 1:1 discussions with clients if they weren't able to speak to a therapist on-site or on-call. For me, the situation wasn't as dire, or needed medical intervention, but they still talked to me about a struggle I was going through with my family. The occupational therapists are very sweet and insightful. Yes, they do help clients shop for nicotine, or do smoking supply runs every week. But, when I was at Recovery Ways (copper hills) it was clear to me that they weren't going to associate themselves with forcing clients/patients to adhere to strict guidelines but rather held us accountable for our actions. For instance, I was told by therapists and staff members that it is my choice if I want to pick up smoking, but they advised strongly to clients/patients to do their best to not pick up smoking habits as it will stunt our overall recovery from other substances or make it harder to receive successful treatment. The other residents/clients who smoked would also tell me to not start smoking or vaping. My therapist did have me go over my past trauma with her, but it was so she could have a better understanding of my case. The Med Technician who administered my prescriptions to me helped advocate for me to my psychiatrist appointed by Recovery Ways about having ongoing PTSD related night terrors. Because of him, I was able to be put on a sleeping pill and another medication that helps with PTSD night terrors. I went into Recovery Ways experiencing suicidal ideation (and having recently attempted), urges to self-harm, mania and lots of other symptoms/diagnoses. But, at the end of my treatment (after moving to Brunswick) I was able to recover successfully. Two years later and my GAD is in remission, my psychotic symptoms that was diagnosed alongside my Bipolar 1 Disorder is no longer affecting me. I have also stayed with their recommended psychiatrist when I was being discharged from Recovery Ways. And their excursions for physical activity/occupational therapy activities were kind of like surprises but they still gave us a few minutes to get dressed for the activities. Overall, my experience was amazing and every staff in each Recover Ways building were very helpful. I don't know if the chef at Brunswick is still working there, but in 2023 he was an amazing cook and made sure each meal he made satisfied the residents/clients. I'd recommend Recovery Ways for anyone.

Our daughter (now 17) Depression, Anxiety, ADHD, BPD, spent the last 10 months @ YC and had a very positive experience. She made a ton of progress over her time there. The staff were professional and responsive. Our daughter had aggression issues and was non-compliant with treatment and school at the start of her stay. They paired her with an excellent therapist, and she was able to make tremendous progress. We spent our first 5 months constantly wondering when the "other shoe would drop", and it always did, trust me. But over time, she progressed, and soon the environment became a bit too restrictive for her, but her behavior needed to improve in order for her to move to a step-down program. YC recently revamped their treatment program moving to more of a tiered system, whereas before, all kids (no matter their behavior) were grouped into the same houses. Now, they have 3 tiers of houses. One house is reserved for kids that need the most restrictive environment, and basic behavior expectations are required to move to the next level of house(s). Two houses are the middle tier, where there are higher behavioral expectations and thus less restrictive. Finally, there is the top tier house, which has the highest level of expectation, and therefore the least restrictive. Our daughter spent her last month or so in the top tier house, and she reported it as boring and uneventful, as kids behaved well. Their parent support group is weekly, and they have one specific for SUD, and the other for non-SUD (they run back-to-back). The support groups are for both parents with kids in treatment @ YC, and for those with kids that have discharged from YC. Parent days @ YC are well run and informative. They are very emotionally exhausting (in a good way) and both my wife and I found them to be very beneficial. We were very worried about sending our daughter to any residential treatment facility, and honestly, we waited too long to send her, however; here we are moving to La Europa Academy on 4/1/26. Thank you Youth Care for the love and care you and your staff showed to our daughter and family.

Youth Care is an amazing facility, with wonderful, compassionate therapists and staff. They care for and keep safe a population of adolescents that cannot be kept safe anywhere else. Those who work at Youth Care and have chosen to stay long-term are completely dedicated to those adolescents and their families, despite the stress level under which they are required to operate every day. I would recommend Youth Care to any parents with a child in crisis. It is a difficult choice to place your child in residential treatment, and if you know you have no other choice, Youth Care is an option.

I even went to visit after their first few weeks, and insisted on having an absolutely private conversation with my child, so they could be frank with me about whether or not they were being treated badly. I was prepared to bring them home, if they gave me reason for concern. I was relieved to be told, cautiously, that although the work was hard and they didn't necessarily like the place, my kid felt that it was doing what they needed a residential treatment center to do. They asked me to leave them there to finish the work they needed to do, and with a glad heart, I did. Six months later, I did bring them home... in triumph, and with the joyful support of the staff. They had made a commitment to take suicide off the table, even when they might feel like it, and they were gaining significant control over their self-harm urges. They had a full tool box of coping tools for when they had a tough time, and they were miles more healthy than when they had begun at YC. My kid now does outpatient therapy twice a week. They have remained stable in their commitment to stay alive, and even found that much of the time, they genuinely *want* to live. They're taking their GED this winter, and hope to go to college someday. They're making progress, slow but steady, and the learning they did at YC is an enormous part of the foundation for that progress. I will forever be grateful that I was brave enough to risk sending my child to YC and that they were brave enough to tell me that they should stay. When they went to YC, my child was helplessly in the grasp of feelings they did not understand and could not control. When strong feelings come now, they are skilled -- and often confident -- in how they can handle them. Many thanks to YC and all the skilled and caring staff who make it what it is. I do want to add something that my child said, which I believe is important for anyone considering residential treatment (for themself or their child) to understand: "Any residential treatment is going to cause trauma. That doesn't mean it's a bad place, nor that it isn't necessary. It just means that the way you have to live in a residential treatment center is going to cause trauma as well as help to heal it. Expect that you will later have to do the healing from your residential treatment as part of your eventual treatment process. That's not a reason to avoid doing residential if you need it. It's just part of the deal, the same way surgery to stop internal bleeding will have to include making a cut that also, in itself, bleeds. So the surgery makes you recover from the original wound and then you also have to recover from the wound made by the surgery. That doesn't mean you don't get surgery because you've heard that it cuts into you." So be aware. Any residential center will leave some trauma behind. That includes YouthCare. Doesn't mean they're a bad place. It means residential is a really hard thing to have to do, and like surgery, you only go through it if you really need it.

This place is incredible and can change lives. James Raburn was exactly what I needed. He pushed me out of my comfort zone and helped me address all of my past while giving me the support I needed to grow from it and let it go. He helped me to see the value in myself once again. James is tough and will put you in hard situations, but will always have your back and help you to grow through those things and gain confidence that you can get through them. He gives you a safe place to address hard realities that we deal with in life, so that you are prepared to face them head on in the real world.

James Raburn has truly been the driving force behind some of the biggest positive changes in my life. I wouldn’t be writing this review if I didn’t genuinely believe that I’m in a far better place today because of his guidance, honesty, and support. Over the past three years, I haven’t always been the easiest patient. It took real patience, consistency, and straightforward conversations to help me get where I am now. James has been there for me at all times — and I mean all times. He doesn’t just go through the motions; he shows up. If you’re looking for someone who will hold you accountable, call you out when needed, and still make it clear that he truly cares about you as a person, James is that person. You’ve made a lasting impact on my life, and I’m incredibly grateful. Thank you James! I think you’re an amazing person and friend!

The whole staff is incredible. Dr. grange Dr. Powell. Keke , Nelly , Andrea, Corrine. All the other counselors And the people that work the window. I wouldn’t go anywhere else and am so blessed this was my first place i went cuz i heard horror stories of other clinics. Thank you to the people i named above specifically. You have helped me in ways i never imagined being possible. If you’re on the fence about where to go or what to do. Just go talk to them. I promise you’ll feel better about your choice . After my husband tried multiple medications, years of talk therapy, CT scans, MRI’s, and saw countless doctors for different issues- we FINALLY got to the root of it all: his brain. By addressing the core—his neurological function—we’ve found true healing from his depression, anxiety, ADHD, & addictions. Those painful cycles are over, as this has given us the tools to actually work through them. It’s been a long 7 years watching him suffer & feel disconnected, and now I’m finally seeing my husband be HIMSELF again. That means everything to me. His quality of life has done a complete 180. He’s able to function optimally! He is healthy- and most importantly he’s happy. We finally found the help needed to recover and truly heal his brain, and we owe it to NeuroLife.

It's well worth the money and we'll worth your time because on all honesty. It's not that much time. It may be every day, but it's not that much time. .there were some days that I wanted more or longer sessions. I recently had a psychiatry intake appointment with Dave Lind. I’ve seen other psychiatrists before, but Dave was the first who I felt like gathered a detailed picture of my overall health, not just my mental health history. He really listened, asked purposeful questions, and addressed my concerns. I appreciated his knowledge and holistic approach to wellness. He took the time to explain why I might be experiencing certain symptoms and offered insight as to things that might help me, in addition to the medication. I came out of my appointment feeling hopeful. I’m very happy to have found a provider who I feel I can trust!

These guys are awesome, if your ready to get clean. If you want to keep getting high, go to the one that rhymes with fart. These guys know their stuff, understand addiction, and will work with you to get you sober. If you want a clinic that doesn't care and will let you do what you want, this isn't the place. I had an experience where they showed me this first hand. The level on one of my tests was out of whack, so they started doing my dose do make sure all was well. Once things were sstraightened or, the stabilized me for the first time ever. Now I'm good without dope. 5 years at fart and nothing, I come here and within a month, I'm stable. This is unlike any other clinic I've been to. No lines around the block, no staff talking down to you. Exactly what I needed.

EDIT: It's been almost a year since my last review & I wanted to update it again. I love this place and & the people. Unfortunately, Jerry, who was the owner, had to sell. I met the new owner & he seemed very nice but omg the new systems they're implementing are just so awful & annoying & frustrating. Before we would come in & Susan, the receptionist, who is so sweet, kind, smart, & efficient, would get us checked in & we could literally be in & out in like 3 minutes for real. Now they make u check in on a tablet & there's a TV where they put your # when you're allowed to go back & see Jeff, (the one who gives u your dose). I hate it for a couple reasons, #1- it slows things down A LOT!!! There is always a wait now & it is no longer in & out. #2- it makes u feel like your at the DMV! Waiting for your # to be called, you're not a person, you're a # & it feels so clinical & impersonal. Now one of the things I do like & really appreciate that they've done is if u miss your counseling apt they give u a week to do a group & if u do u don't have to pay a fine. Which I really appreciate. Last Monday the while morning was going awful & all these things came up & I totally spaced & felt so bad about missing my apt but am so grateful I am able to make it up! I'm also grateful Jerry is still there & I still have him as my counselor, he is a wonderful person who u can tell really cares about everyone & never judges. & I'm also so glad Susan is there & Jeff. Jeff is the nurse who gives u your dose, who is also one of my favorite people there. He is so kind, efficient & I love coming every day & getting to see Susan & Jeff cuz they're such wonderful people & I hope they never leave!!! Diane is another staff member who has been there for years & is such an amazing person. As a matter of fact, all the staff there is amazing & I'm grateful to have such wonderful people to be there & support me in my recovery journey. So even though I really don't like the new system (& talking to others, everyone else hates it too & were kind of hoping they'll do away with it after a while when they see how much it slows things down) I will still continue with, I guess it's called True North now because of the people there.

Utah Addiction Centers truly saved my life. When I arrived, I was so spiritually bankrupt. I was truly a mess. I was battling my Mother's death and my Fiancé suicide. By the time I graduated the program, I was a strong empowered woman who found her center and spirituality again. I was transferred to Active Recovery in Centerville. I went from being homeless and hopeless to getting my own place and employment I love. Thank you from the bottom of my heart to all of the counselors and support personnel. This is a safe place of healing and love. Hope starts here! I recommend it to anyone who wants to start over. One phone call could change your life, it did mine. I will be eternally grateful 🙏 🥲

Past client here, I spend almost two months at JMCR and during that time I was able to make so much progress to become the person I always wanted to be. JMCR allowed me to see my strengths and find love for myself, It taught me just how compassionate I really am and the impact that I have on others. Reggie and his team are experts in their field and work tirelessly (with love) to affect positive change in their clients. I remember on one occasion some of the staff were just reflecting on the emotional energy of time and tears started to well in their eyes. They told us how they just want the best for us and truly were expressing just how much they cared. Where other treatment programs might be punitive, JMCR takes a different approach to build you up with respect and compassion to help you find your strengths. Nothing could have helped me more than how JMCR helped me. I will be thankful for it for the rest of my life and I will never forget the people I met along the way! It’s important to note that I tried other treatment centers and they didn’t quite work… GO WITH JMCR you won’t regret it!

My Name is Vili and I wanted to share this. I had a very positive experience at Clinical Consultants during my substance abuse treatment, and I appreciate the support I received from the staff and instructors. My first therapist, Megan Vanroosendaal, was very attentive and thoughtful in her approach. She created a space where I felt heard and supported. After she left, I worked with Cody Raspberry, who provided strong guidance and helped me focus on personal growth. A key takeaway from her that stayed with me was, “You don’t have to use every day for it to be unhealthy.”The group facilitators also played an important role in my progress. Gentri Fox (Cognitive Therapy) helped me understand my thinking patterns more clearly. Aleina Erye (Health Connections) created a calm and supportive learning environment. Neal Tate (MRT) was engaging and relatable as a teacher, and Heidi Kenney was also very supportive throughout the program. Overall, the program provided valuable tools, insight, and structure that supported my growth and recovery.
