They offer residential care providing long term support for addiction recovery. Additional levels of care offered include relapse prevention. Specialty rehab | Treatments Programs Payment Options | I stayed with reSTART at the end of 2013. After graduating college I was confronted with the harsh reality that I didn't have the skills or confidence to take on life. I had been using gaming and the internet as a way to ignore life's difficulties and run away from that reality. When I tried to stop and couldn't, I decided to reach out for help- which led me to reSTART.My stay with reSTART was one of the best decisions I have ever made. I grew in ways I could have only hoped and left changed. There were challenges along the way, but reSTART provided a safe place for me to explore who I wanted to be and to learn what a sustainable life looks like. I am so grateful for the time I spent with reSTART!

So upset this treatment center is closing!! Typical corporate decision. I am alive today because of their treatment. Clean & sober for 15 years with no desire to drink, do drugs, and/or binging on both. The comments from the new owners were disrespectful and ignorant about the process. Treatment is not easy in any program, but if it saves lives why end it. Shame on you Universal Healthcare! Many lives will be lost by closing this hospital.

I feel like it needs to be said that no one will kick an addiction in 10 days. Even the traditional 28 days won't end the addiction. There are no shortcuts to the life long journey you are embarking on, if you choose sobriety. What Schick does - is give you the tools, and take away the cravings so you can handle this huge life shift.
I have been abusing alcohol for 8 years and finally decided I needed professional help. Schick is working so far for me. I've been 81 days sober as of today.
What the treatment is like:
There is a daily schedule of meds, vitals, and group. You will spend the mid morning through mid afternoon either completing a sleepy (propofol conscious sedation treatment where they ask you a series of questions related to getting sober, and staying sober) and counseling, or a duffy (ipecac aversion treatment where they give you ipecac and then have you drink alcohol. you quickly become ill to associate drinking with nausea.). Late afternoon are various groups.
Pros:
-The medical director at the hospital is a true patient advocator. Sabrina is incredible.
-The community. I felt safe sharing in group, and gained some friends I imagine will be with me for life.
-The counselor John. I've been going to therapy the past ten years, but HE is my favorite person I've talked through my mental health with. Compassionate, empathetic, just a good listener, and has great life advice. He's been there done that, and helped me see some great perspective. His lectures are also my favorite.
-The program. Schick gives all of the same literature that any other rehab gives, but also has the aversion therapy, and sedation treatment.
-The resources. The media wall, the counselors, the lectures, the movies, the hypnosis videos, the 4 agreements, etc. There are so many resources it was hard to take them all in. But theyre all powerful and have continued to help me outside of Schick.
Cons:
-The nursing staff. For the most part I didn't have a problem. But some of the staff had no bedside manner whatsoever. Some said misogynistic comments. Some did room checks late at night with little regard to patients sleeping. Some argued with other nurses in front of me. Either the nurse was great or the nurse was pretty unprofessional. And I didn't see much inbetween.
-Not a diverse group at all. As a black queer female I felt out of place here. It's mostly white men in their 30s and 40s.

After 28 grueling days at Lakeside-Milam inpatient treatment facility in Kirkland I did not want to do intensive outpatient. I was initially told that outpatient treatment was "2 days a week" so imagine my surprise when Milam in Renton tells me it's actually 3 days a week for 3 hours. I tried to resist but my wife said "go" so I did. I'm so so glad I did. All my reservations went away that first week. Lisa was perfect for me. Straightforward, knowledgeable, funny, and kept control of the class in a good way. Much of what was covered wasn't new to me but for the first time I was all in, paying attention to the ideas, concepts, and information being presented. I attended every class and graduated to Phase 2 with Dulcinea. In Phase 2 we covered relapse, healthy recovery tips, how to handle life events without mind altering substances. I needed everything that was covered because I was a chronic relapser. No more. At Lakeside-Milam in Renton I developed the skills and the support I need to stay the course, to remain on the path in recovery. I wouldn't be where I'm at without the help and guidance of the staff at Milam especially Lisa and Dulcinea. Plus you'll make new friends. Resistance is futile. Go and grow. You won't regret it

And in this industry that should be celebrated.

My best friend uses this clinic, though since the flood last winter it's mostly an outdoor waiting place for the minibus to the clinic in Renton.

| reSTART Life Bellevue Campus is located in Bellevue, Washington. They offer residential treatment, partial hospitalization treatment, intensive outpatient treatment, and traditional outpatient services for adolescents and young adults who are struggling with behavioral addictions. Their primary focus is on helping people overcome tech addictions. r | Programs Payment Options | I attended ReStart in Dec 2016 to 2017. The structure of the inpatient program really helped to fill the time that gaming and tech had taken (which was every waking minute of every day for many years for me, I felt like an extreme case).Taking the time to sit in the present moment and day was something that was simple yet something I really never did since I was 12. I entered when I was 24, nearly 25. I'm 33 now. Restart showed me how great life could be with people who struggled with their own problems. None of them had the exact pattern I did but they had their troubles with tech use as a distraction from family and school issues.Therapy 1 on 1 really helped to dive into why I turned to gaming. Dr. Cash was really understanding and suggested various books and 12 step meetings to attend. I attend those meetings to this day.Crossfit really helped to get my body moving when I was in restart and it really lifted my depression. The most invaluable part is still being friends and near people who were in the program when I was. As time has gone on, some people have moved further away but there is still a core of us who live a healthy and social life together and have progressed further into our work lives and schools than we probably never imagined accomplishing. If you as a teen or young adult thinks you have an issue with tech and you can't stop, I'd really recommend ReStart if you want to get out of those chains and get the tools to live a full and healthy life.If you are a parent with a kid who has tech issues around VR or gaming or something that takes up enormous amounts of time in your child's day and life, maybe reStart is the place to look. I'd make sure you're limiting tech time from a young age before they are teens. I was in that situation as a teen and I found so many work arounds. My mom tried. I was lost at that point.Restart gave me a chance to restart my life in a sense. Free from the chains of gaming. That's not to say I've had my fair share of relapses, but now I have the recipe so to speak and that first step is accepting help when I cannot do this alone.Get help if you're stuck like I was. Time is too precious to let slip by.I suffer from agoraphobia and have an intense fear of open areas. I imagine that was due to the amount of time I spent indoors and such. The tools at reStart and time away from gaming allowed me to feel comfortable enough to go out for a hike at Mailbox Peak in 2018 or 2019 and climb 90% of the way up. The attached picture is from that hike. It's thanks to reStart that I was able to do that as well as the friends I made from the program. I'm really grateful. For anyone with questions about my experience feel free to reach out.

Overall, a very very helpful environment. The staff were incredible, therapists and direct care alike, and I made tremendous personal progress through my stay in the program. The best part of restart is the individualized care and 1 on 1 therapy that every client gets. There's a lot of meeting you where you're at, and working at base level problems, past just the addiction that I found invaluable. The LBP is the program's biggest weakness with how "one size fits all" it appears to be, however I was glad to find that I was able to change it to fit my needs. I just wish that it were written with this in mind, as it feels something like a relic of the past in the current environment of the restart program. Groups are very hit or miss, as they can be very productive and interesting or spiral off into endless tangents based on the clientele and how well the therapist leading it can moderate discussion. The program is also very LGBT friendly, and I met the most supportive and awesome people there, both clients and staff.

The lady that I talked to on the phone Hilarie Cash was very friendly and listened to my problem of having video game addiction, This clinic is very nice on the inside and takes away all your electronics at the door, Even though I never went here. I will say that it is an amazing and well done kind of place. If you want to know more about them then visit their website or call ahead of time to find out how to treat your video game addiction. The people here I called and talked to were very friendly and I had no problem with their service whatsoever, would recommend for anyone who faces an addiction to technology and gaming
