I was fearful coming here with my long history of overdoing it with the alcohol. These people immediately made me feel ok just being me. I'm on my fourth taper down med day and am starting to feel like myself again. They are with you every step of the way. I can't say enough wonderful things. The only thing that was unpleasant at first is the stand up check in that seemed to take forever the first day when I was feeling shaky but it got easier and easier the better I started feeling. The staff is so awesome. I loved how his teacher and assistant greeted my kiddo as soon as we walked in. His teachers assistant got down on his level and showed him around. It really made my heart happy to see him connect with them so soon!

I was recently here and the staff were very professional and respectful, counselors were informative but the total class time was minimal. If you want clean time this is the place to go, if you desire more structure I'd recommend abhs. But. Now a year later I'm still clean and I owe it in part to this program. Without them who knows? I could very easily have died by now

So this was the only treatment center I have ever attended so I don't have much to compare it to but most of my issues I had with the program where not so much because of the program itself but my own bitterness towards it. Now having said that the building was definitely in need of some TLC and it was obvious that budget was going more towards the staff and counselors than the treatment center itself.
Outdoor activities where on par for an elementary school not so much for grown men who want more than a volley ball court and a broken basketball hoop but hey it's not a retreat. The lecture hall was my personal favorite place in the whole building. Saturdays all the clients would get together and we'd watch movies on a giant projector screen and if you're a quiet person like me who likes to keep to themselves it's usually pretty empty in there after lunch till it's time for lights out.
This place had 2 amazing counselors whose names I can't remember. My counselor was Viki and she was a delight but I must say she's better as a friend than a counselor. Now as far as the counselor that drives the Tesla he's a real a-hole and the fact he's aloud to be a counselor of any sort blows my mind. But you gotta remember it's not up to the counselors to work your recovery and that's something I had to learn months after I left blaming them for my failed sobriety when really it was me not working my steps.
The freaking food tho was so good every meal. Like I'd happily relapse just to go back for that lol. But seriously your recovery is on you and you are worth it. This place has its flaws but if you focus on yourself and your well being its a great place to take a step back and take a deep breathe. JOTC truly set me on a path of recovery. I just had to get over my bitterness and work my steps.
Don't be discouraged recovery isn't easy but your life is something worth doing it for and I love you and I'm glad your taking a step towards the greatness you deserve.

I recently graduated from the Ranch for both alcohol and drug addiction. This was my first time at inpatient treatment. I am so grateful for the staff and magic that the Sundown M Ranch has to offer. My counselor, Barb, has a passion for sobriety and recovery that is infectious. She gives detailed, professional and compassionate care to her parents. The other counselors were also very willing to help if Barb wasn't available. It is very easy to tell that they are passionate about their work and truly want to see every patient succeed in their recovery.
I'm also part of the LGBTQ+ community. I was treated no differently than any other patient. I was accepted and respected for my nonbinary status. My pronouns, they/them, were respected and remembered by the counselors, house managers, administrative staff, housekeepers and kitchen staff.
Every employee at the Ranch works to ensure the comfort and safety of every patient in their care. The food is incredible, the group therapy, lectures, one on one time with my counselor and interactions were very positive.
The Ranch was truly there to help me save my own life and abstain from drugs and alcohol during treatment. I am 47 days sober and working every day to treat my chronic disease of addiction.
Thank you so much to everyone involved at the Sundown M Ranch for the loving and compassionate care I received. I eagerly recommend this facility if you are truly ready to do the work of recovery!

I was treated with the up most respect and dignity. I was brought to Calsipel from ER woke up and staff was offering food and shower. They moved my room when my roommate was not suitable to be around others.

Barth Clinic is the best treatment facility in the valley. Don't be persuaded different by the negative reviews on this site. A lot of addicts have temperament issues and have a habit of blaming others for their mistakes. I'm 29 and have had my fair share of character defects exposed to me and have successfully worked through them. So I know bullshit when I see it. Barth is dope and full of respect.

Michelle, Jaime and staff are amazing to work with. I have seen so much growth in myself and peers.
Addiction is hard on its own but they create a safe and family like atmosphere. Ultimately turning recovery into something that has a stigma of being "bad" into something surprisingly beautiful.
I would recommend Barth to anyone I come across struggling in addiction because they truly care for their patients inside and outside of the classrooms.

New Horizons Care Center has been a lifesaver — and Dustin deserves major recognition.
I came in overwhelmed, trying to balance a new travel-heavy job while staying compliant with probation and UA requirements. Instead of taking my money and rushing me through intake, the front desk told me to hold off until we could confirm the program would actually work for my situation. That alone showed honesty and integrity.
When Dustin called, he didn’t give me a generic answer. He listened, asked the right questions, and walked me through what could be done. My case wasn’t routine, but he still said, “We’ll figure it out.” By the end of that call, he took me onto his caseload, and for the first time in a long time, I felt real hope.
Other facilities either didn’t offer telehealth or shut me down with quick “no, we can’t do that” responses. Dustin took the opposite approach — he cared, he problem-solved, and he helped me build a plan that kept my job on track while still meeting every treatment and probation requirement. After 25+ years of dealing with addiction programs, I have never felt this level of genuine care.
Huge thanks also to Chris, my telehealth counselor, who treated me like an individual and helped me find workable solutions so I never had to miss class or work.
And to the amazing woman who helped me get medical insurance — you went above and beyond, spending over two hours on the phone with me and providers so I wouldn’t be crushed by financial stress. I’m sorry I don’t remember your name, but I won’t forget what you did for me.
If you need a team that truly cares and actually helps you move forward, New Horizons — especially Dustin — is the place to go. Highly recommend.

Ask for Heidi. She IS what this business is all about. She truly has been a blessing and I am so grateful for her guidance and relatable feedback!
I consider myself very lucky to have ended up in her office for my assessment. (I truly believe it was not “by chance” and was no “accident”).
I say that because, in my experience, my success relied primarily on my ability to connect with my treatment provider. It played an essential part of my willingness to see things through and to fully open up. I needed to feel I was in a safe space. With someone who I could trust. Someone who I believed had my best interests in mind. Someone I felt had a genuine desire to aid in my recovery.
I proudly admit that she checked each and every one of those boxes. I had an instant connection with her and feel it remained that way, consistently, throughout the entirety of my treatment.
I owe her a giant “thank you” for her constant kindness, for her unique approach, and for her continued wisdom and encouragement.
She is an incredible asset to this field and the way that she genuinely care for those still suffering is inspiring and remarkably beautiful.

Knowledge about my addiction. I learned that I do matter and that I didnt need drugs to be accepted. The staff was very kind and always left it up to you to answer your own hard questions, which made more of an impact on my life. It wasn't easy at all but it was fantastic. If you are there and really have the desire to get clean and sober this is the perfect place. I did have issues after I left and relapsed but I didnt follow my discharge plan. But I got it together and used the skill i learned there (breathing techniques, being accretive, standing up for myself, all the knowledge about my addiction and that I am powerless) to push through all the distractions and now I am totally clean and sober. I'm feeling great and back in contact with non-using friends and family. There are still things I struggle with but with all the support I have, I get through it.
