I don’t know why this place gets such bad reviews I’m not sure what experience others have had but mine has been nothing but positive , the front desk do there best to respond when you walk in with multiple people you have to be patient. I wish I could rate this place more than 5 stars! Not only do they do their job right but they are really professional here! I've only had a bad experience on my first visit with a therapist but they fixed that right away for me and changed my therapist which I'm glad they did. I am not that type to open up about my feelings but Chrissy was really helpful and made me feel comfortable right away, it made it seem like if I've known her for years so I definitely recommend her. Tabatha Grace is hands-down the best provider I've ever seen.
She's incredibly personable and easy to talk to, taking the time to explain my health issues thoroughly so I always feel informed and empowered, What sets her apart is how she breaks down medication options—pros, cons, everything—without rushing or talking down to me/you.
I trust her 100%, especially after disappointing experiences with full-fledged MDs who fell short on real care.
Tabatha holds the highest standard in my book. If you're looking for a compassionate, expert doctor who truly listens, she's your go-to Doctor!

Sedona, AZ | Alternative to Meds Center, in Sedona, Arizona, is a holistic alcohol and drug rehab for adults. They offer withdrawal services and inpatient, outpatient, and aftercare programs. Dedicated services are available for young adults, seniors, military personnel and Veterans, members of the LGBTQ+ community, and persons with co-occurring disorders. Thei | Treatments Programs Payment Options | I can't say enough good things about ATMC! This place honestly changed my life. I have bipolar II disorder. Before coming to ATMC my meds had clunked out on me for almost 3 years and I was desperate to get help. I had been trying different medications and nothing was working. My depressive episodes got so severe to the point that I could no longer work. I knew that I needed to seek alternative help but did not know where to go. Every psychiatrist just kept upping or changing my medications and to no avail. I was tired of being a slave to psychotropics. My family found ATMC and when I was ready to go, they got me in immediately. This place is like no other. In the US, where it is common practice to be dependent on medication as an individual with bipolar disorder and to oftentimes be debilitated and unable to work, ATMC provided a completely different option for me! At ATMC they focus on a more holistic method of detoxing and nourishing the body. We went to the "detox shop" 5 days a week where we did sauna for hours, cold plunge, ionic footbaths, massage, reiki, sound healing, foot reflexology and IV treatments. They put you on a supplement protocol. This includes many different supplements a day which are hard to take at first but when you understand the benefit of these supplements, you begin to take them happily! I also loved the groups and my therapist, Christine. You meet with your therapist twice a week. Christine was incredible, very skilled and the most empathic therapist I have ever had. They also take you out daily into town for walking/hiking and Sedona is by far one of the most beautiful places I have ever encountered! No wonder everyone comes to Sedona for healing. It's magical. They also feed you a "serotonin-building diet" that is packed with all kinds of veggies (they provide protein as well) and the 4 female chefs there are incredible! By far, the most significant aspect of ATMC and what really touched me the most is the incredible staff! Every single one of them! They are all the most authentic, genuine, loving and caring people. I do not know how they managed to get all of these amazing people in one place! They will help change your life! During my time at ATMC, I got off one of my medications and substantially lowered another one. The psychiatrist helps taper you down weekly and the naturopathic doctor and detox specialist ensure that you are taking the right supplements to support you. It's been a while since my stay and I am so blessed to say that I am stable and back to living a full life again. I continue to take the supplements that are shipped to me monthly. If you are considering an alternate way of healing your body and mind, I highly recommend this place!

Alternative to Meds Center is a truly unique and life-changing facility for those seeking a holistic and integrative approach to mental health and recovery. Their team is compassionate, knowledgeable, and dedicated to helping individuals regain balance through natural therapies, nutritional support, and a comprehensive wellness plan.
What sets Alternative to Meds apart is their focus on addressing the root causes of mental health challenges rather than just treating symptoms. Their personalized approach helps clients safely transition off medications (when appropriate) while supporting them with evidence-based and alternative therapies. The environment is peaceful, the staff is supportive, and the overall experience is transformative.
If you’re looking for a place that prioritizes whole-body healing and long-term well-being, Alternative to Meds Center is an excellent choice. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a different approach to mental health and recovery.

Flagstaff, AZ | Southwest Behavioral Health Services is headquartered in Flagstaff, Arizona. Southwest Behavioral and Health Services in Flagstaff, Arizona is one of Arizona’s largest community based behavioral health providers | Treatments Programs Payment Options | I've bin with southwest for about 10 years, specifically this location in their MAT program, the change this place has made this last year is major! The new DR. Sean is a major change from the previous DR that was there. Sean understands not everything is black and white and actually listens to you when you tell him like hey this isn't working can we try something else's, on top of actually listening to your concerns about medication he actually cares about your recovery as much as you do, I have not had one DR. Actually try to help when I said I want to be done with MAT meds, the last DR'S would basically set you up for failure so you will have to come back and be stuck. Sean will actually help you and not abandon you through the process of getting off MAT meds.He has helped this place become more hopeful for me. You can tell he cares.... and thats the part that this clinic was missing. Southwest please hold on to this DR close. He is litterly what makes the MAT program a true recovery program.

I was in for alcohol detox and I was there for 6 days and admitted myself.
It’s time to give praise where praise is due.
Staff by name:
Nate - RN this was one of the better nurses and he worked the night shift, there were several points when I was at an all-time low, especially at night. Nate took the time to sit down with me and make sure that I was OK every single time. He cares about his job and his patients and it clearly showed.
Zack - this gentleman worked in the CSU, he had an incredible personality and he is the gentleman that you would be working with at night if you were doing intake. Me and him had conversation for hours about working out, family, religion. as far as I understood it, he had achieved employee of the month of the month prior and there’s a very big reason. Zack was a massive part of being able to talk to me while my anxiety was so high. This gentleman deserves nothing but praise and probably a raise.
Nicole - she was a floor tech that also works nights, she’s a good worker and does what she needs to. She just seems to be very quiet and somewhat antisocial so she was not a good person to talk to however, you could see her work ethic and how she contributed to the facility.
Eric or Airwik - again, this is a floor tech. This gentleman deserves nothing but praise. He worked nights and days. He was very easy to talk too, me and him talked about his background for his native descent and we spoke about music. We had good conversation which is what is required for a lot of these patients.
Denise - Just awesome, thank you for being a support
Kody - this is a daytime floor tech, again sat down with me had excellent conversations and he ended up playing Uno with all of us patients several times over. He had an ability to connect with his patients and make him feel like a familiar friend. Kody deserves some of the highest praise as he gets somewhat intimate with his clients.
Andrea - registered nurse, this girl is a powerhouse of a woman. Her and I shared the same religious background and on the day of my release she did nothing but tell me the success that she saw for me. You can also tell that she goes to the gym; shared. She’s high energy and is very on the ball she had a way of sharing her positive energy which shared hope she was a significant part of my discharge her and I spoke for probably 30 minutes before I got discharged. She is intense a little bit loud, but absolutely a wonderful soul.
Julie - fantastic human being.
Austin - this gentleman is a part of CSU again the intake portion. Him and I spoke the first night for probably two hours when I was first admitted. Again, we spoke about religion general concepts, and Austin is an absolute nerd. He reads books every single day and he has card games and things like that. One thing that stuck out about Austin is that he is extremely intelligent and he would love to talk to you about almost anything. Me and him mostly spoke about God.
Bonnie - Bonnie was the cleaning lady over in the CSU unit. I believe she used to be a police officer. She’s a very intimidating woman, but she’s also extremely sweet if you’re just not a jerk. Around when I first got there in the CSU she showed me where the snacks and drinks were treated me like a human being.
Dave - this is another gentleman from the CSU, he’s usually quiet at first as he feels you out and what your temperament is but again after he knows that you’re not something that is a threat he’ll open up to you. Another gentleman that is highly intelligent.
Lastly
Robert - RN my first interaction with Robert was when I needed something from the nurses. When I tried to get his attention, he looked at me and shook his head and then look away from me, which was very dehumanizing. After that when he left the nurses cage, I tried to get his attention and he ignored me three times. This guy is terrible and as far as I understand it, most of the staff doesn’t even like him.

This place changed my life and quite possibly saved it as well. All the nurses were wonderful and in particular Kerry, Nate, Haven, Shavon, Heather, and Zac. The techs were amazing including Richard 1, Jay, Richard 2, Steph, Cody. I'm sure there are others I interacted with that were great as well that I'm forgetting. Both psych NPs were attentive and thorough and really cared! Both social workers Kenzie and Kat are some of the best people on this planet. They brought together the whole plan for me. Everyone on staff truly care about all of us patients and were extremely professional, efficient, and attentive. This place is a staple and much needed on the mountain, they serve our community in amazing ways. Thank you to everyone! Changepoint changed my life and will change yours too!

I finally got to see my husband today. After 2 days. I though his was at a different facility. ATMC was the 3rd treatment center I tried, and they saved my life. In the end, the answer for me (and many others I met there) was a holistic combination of informed supplementation, rigorous detoxification protocols, exercise, sauna, individual CBT work, group therapy and top-notch nutrition. The grounds were clean and beautiful, accommodations homey, and the food delicious. I loved the optional daily nature outings and many sight-seeing trips around Sedona.
I would recommend ATMC to anyone in medication withdrawals or poor health. I was suffering and with benzo withdrawal and wanting to end my life. Now I am thriving. (My stay was 60 days.) I will never forget my time here, the passionate staff of skilled care providers, or the dear friends I made.

Words cannot begin to express the deepest gratitude I have at my stay at ATMC following their protocol. I was able to reduce my medication which before which is virtually impossible. The staff there goes beyond caring. They're like family from the nurses like Kimberly to the helping practitioners like Lucas Melody, Mo, DJ Beatrice, Trisha, Gregg, Beth, and so many others it truly is the greatest detox facility I have ever been to I can I can say nothing but the absolute best about this place. The backup is beautiful Sedona you're going beautiful hikes. The food is amazing and speaking of the food chefs like angel Cassie, Rochelle, and others who I can't even think of right now their names I mean if I could give this place at A+, plus I would do not hesitate to go there if this is your 15th or your first you have struck gold I love this place ATMC rocks and if you follow their protocol, you will get better and the protocol is also said I'd love to give a shout out to Dr. H and Lotus Sara Jess Renée at the detox shop. They truly do a remarkable job. All you have to do is show up work through your fears and get yourself there if you're having trouble they really know what they're doing. I wish all rehabs were set to this damn model. God bless and I wish you all the best.

We were fortunate enough to have three of the young men from U-Turn for Christ come and clear our yard of weeds and then move gravel off the yard to lay down a weed barrier (after the handyman we hired didn't bother to put one down when he spread the 1" gravel). I cannot praise the work they did enough! The yard looks immaculate and could not look any better. The three workers had so much to do and yet they finished in less than 5 hours. Thank you, guys, for all your hard work. I recommend them to all of Payson and you will truly benefit from their professionalism.
