I don’t usually leave reviews, but I felt like this one needed to be written. Matt Lapham has been one of the biggest blessings during my time at True Self. What makes Matt different is that he has been where many of us have been. He understands the struggles, the setbacks, and the challenges of recovery because he’s lived it himself. That experience allows him to connect with people in a way that can’t be taught. Matt goes above and beyond for every single client, often without looking for any recognition. Whether it’s making sure someone has hygiene products, helping people find clothes and socks, taking clients to food banks, or simply being there when someone needs support, he’s always finding ways to help. If someone is in need, Matt is usually already working on a solution before they even have to ask. One thing that always stands out is the way he takes care of everyone at the house. He cooks dinner every night without complaint, and somehow manages to make it feel like a home instead of just a place to stay. The meals are always great, and it’s clear he puts his heart into everything he does. Matt also teaches classes at True Self, and every class leaves an impact. He has a way of making people think deeply about their recovery, their choices, and their future. Even when he doubts himself or feels like he could have done better, those of us listening know he’s doing an amazing job. His honesty, experience, and passion for helping others come through every time he speaks. True Self is fortunate to have someone like Matt Lapham. The amount of time, energy, and compassion he pours into helping others is truly inspiring. I have an amazing doctor, Dr. Morgan. My other specialists are wonderful, too. No one has been disrespectful or nasty to me, unlike hospitals in Decatur, Il, where I was treated like crap and nearly died due to incompetence there. I worried about getting VA care again, but I feel really great about the Fayetteville VA.

I have really enjoyed this rehab facility more than any other place I have ever been too by far. The facility is top-notch. Cabins are so nice and comfortable with only two clients per cabin. The food is made fresh every day that is better than five star restaurants in my opinion. So much food with plenty of left overs. The staff are amazing! They care!!!! They actually care about you and your recovery. They spend the time every day teaching us how to manage our lives and pushing the clients to find themselves. Really find themselves and why they use and how to stay sober mentally, physically, emotionally, and spiritually. The outings from the facility are so fun which include things like Top golf, canoeing, trails, rivers, and more. You will find what you need here to make a change to your life. This is your answer to finding the right place to go to!!!!!

For four years, getting basic healthcare here has been an uphill battle. The first year was a revolving door of primary care doctors leaving, and the specialty care departments are an absolute joke—you will spend months repeating your medical history to a parade of rotating staff with zero actual medical progress. But the systemic incompetence is nothing compared to the toxic, "good ole boys club" culture and outright patient abuse. ER Department Abuse (Dr. Nicholas Constant): I went to the ER with a broken hand and wrist. Dr. Nicholas Constant performed an incredibly rough, physically aggressive "examination" that severely exacerbated my injury. When I cried out from the excruciating pain, he lacked the basic empathy and medical competence to handle it, instead said “I need to examine it”, and mocked me in his note calling me "hysterical”. Relying strictly on a clear X-ray to dismiss severe pain is textbook lazy medicine—any real doctor knows soft-tissue damage, torn ligaments, and certain fractures don’t immediately show up on a basic X-ray. A quick internet search shows a pattern of reviews detailing this guy treating patients, and even children, horribly. He has no business holding a medical license. This has been the worst VA I have received care at and I've been established in multiple states throughout the country. If you are a veteran seeking actual healthcare and respect, seek care elsewhere if possible, and absolutely refuse to see Dr. Nicholas Constant if you end up in the ER.

But doctor Rahim and the amazing techs make it 1000000% better since COVID days. I give it 4 because they are trying hard to improve, they just need more staff. I was admitted in spring of this year of 2025 and it was the best thing I could of done. Thank you so much because I have been sober off alcohol since. You all saved my life and helped me so much in inpatient and outpatient. Angel souls and I appreciate you all. ❤️❤️❤️ Update: Hi, I am happy to say that it's coming up on nearly a year since I was last admitted to inpatient. I have been sober from alcohol and cigarettes plus hard things almost a year. Reading and exercise has helped a lot. Thank you all for your hard work and care. I will try to give updates when I can. I completed their neurofeedback program in 2017 with INPS. It was absolutely amazing for my anxiety and sleep. I had tried many things for years without resolving the issues and neurofeedback resolved it completely. Life changing and could not recommend them enough. You've got to stick with it and go through the whole program - don't give up after a few sessions. There seem to be a lot of complaints about insurance, billing, or paperwork issues in many of the other reviews. I, personally, didn't experience any of that. Everyone was very nice and professional with clear communication along the way.

Last March I was in a MVA and had a TBI. After months of looking, providers slapping mental health diagnosis on me, and medications that weren’t helping. I finally found Dr. Ann. She understood what I was experiencing and got me the help I needed. I am now off all medication and improving everyday. I highly recommend this place if you are looking for someone who will listen, understand and provide results.

For these people whom I did not entirely trust at first, I have encountered true phenomena of faith and family again and again. Best most through eye exam I have ever had and I've been in glasses since I was 10. So relaxing I was falling asleep. The most helpful when picking out frames. I got down many frames and they didn't even seem to mind, super nice and helpful. They called yesterday to tell me my glasses are in. 12 days. Far cry from 6- 8 weeks!!!
