We had to pay a visit to the ER for my husband on a Sat night. We were dreading a full lobby and long wait, but to our surprise, we were the only ones there. He got right in and he was seen immediately. The labs came back quickly, and he was given treatment which gave him great relief. He did have to wait a couple of hours wait on a scan. Overall it was a good experience.

Here’s a version that reflects what actually happened while keeping the humor tasteful: I had to adjust it a bit since your mom was the patient, not you. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Talk about terrible timing! On a 12-hour drive through Oklahoma, I got pulled over thanks to what feels like 100 different speed limit changes from 65 mph to 45 mph. While I was on the side of the road, my mother—who was my passenger—ended up being transported to the hospital by ambulance. When I arrived, Dr. Jeff, Doug, and Nick were absolutely incredible. They were kind, compassionate, quick, and took great care of my mom during an already stressful situation. They even joked that my speeding was what sent her to the hospital, and that little bit of humor was exactly what we needed to break the tension. Their professionalism, bedside manner, and genuine kindness made a difficult day much easier. I can’t thank Dr. Jeff, Doug, and Nick enough for taking such wonderful care of my mother. If you’re ever in need of their services, I highly recommend them. I hope the next time I drive through Oklahoma, the only surprise is a good cup of coffee—not another 65-to-45 speed limit change!

I've been employed with Grand Mental Health for about 4 years. I've worked outpatient in Claremore, and now crisis in Pryor. It's a unique place to work with so many caring people with lots of recovery stories themselves and hearts that understand. I never see job postings in Afton, OK though? Is it only outpatient? I've been thinking about moving to that area, and wondered about a possible transfer to this clinic? But never see any jobs posted for this area... Just curious.

I voluntarily went in for detox to begin my journey to recovery. I was very observant during my treatment, I read all the reviews before hand and they made me nervous about going. But I took a leap of faith and went for it, I’m ready to start my next chapter! Is everything perfect, no. But the staff (ALL of them) were very kind and accommodating during my three days there. Is it a 5 Star resort, not even close. If you go in with a good attitude, and simply be kind and courteous, I believe you’ll see quickly what I did. It’s just the beginning of the journey, not the final destination. Again, a huge thanks to all the staff that worked so hard day in and day out to help me!

This place has seriously changed my life. I never imagined I would find an outpatient program that would truly be effective but this place doesnt just want to give you medicine and send you on your way they want to change your negative behaviors and encourage long term sobriety by giving you tools and resources on how to do so. The staff has seriously went above and beyond to help me in any way possible and they have given me so many resources and are so eager to help it brings tears to my eyes. Every staff member greets me by my name even if I don’t know who they are and they all seem to want to work there to help people. Well, I agree. It’s all how you look at it. My son was a Serious alcoholic and needed work in every area of his life. It takes serious boundaries and serious rules to get somebody to get out of their addiction and living a productive life. I absolutely thank God for this place and I thank God that they are men and women that are giving their lives to work and help these people and I absolutely love Steve Duncan. He may be rude to some people but I bet it’s because they push the boundary so far he has no other way to get to them, but just to tell them like it is. I know my son and I have had serious arguments where I’ve gotten rude, but he doesn’t listen to anything else. This is his third time in there, but he’s ready and he’s On his way to living a good life! Every time I’m out there or talk to anybody, they are just so respectful and so caring and so nice! Next to Coast Guard basic training this was the toughest thing I ever did, but most rewarding. Life is tough. Not just addiction, but life. To reach your goals takes determination and CAAIR helps you find that. A year is a short time of your life, but to dedicate one year it will drive you through life's many trials and tribulations. I highly recommend it, not just for addiction, but for finding stability in yourself. Love you all. Carl

I don’t usually leave reviews, but I felt like this one needed to be written. Matt Lapham has been one of the biggest blessings during my time at True Self. What makes Matt different is that he has been where many of us have been. He understands the struggles, the setbacks, and the challenges of recovery because he’s lived it himself. That experience allows him to connect with people in a way that can’t be taught. Matt goes above and beyond for every single client, often without looking for any recognition. Whether it’s making sure someone has hygiene products, helping people find clothes and socks, taking clients to food banks, or simply being there when someone needs support, he’s always finding ways to help. If someone is in need, Matt is usually already working on a solution before they even have to ask. One thing that always stands out is the way he takes care of everyone at the house. He cooks dinner every night without complaint, and somehow manages to make it feel like a home instead of just a place to stay. The meals are always great, and it’s clear he puts his heart into everything he does. Matt also teaches classes at True Self, and every class leaves an impact. He has a way of making people think deeply about their recovery, their choices, and their future. Even when he doubts himself or feels like he could have done better, those of us listening know he’s doing an amazing job. His honesty, experience, and passion for helping others come through every time he speaks. True Self is fortunate to have someone like Matt Lapham. The amount of time, energy, and compassion he pours into helping others is truly inspiring. He may never realize how much of a difference he makes, but I can honestly say that he has made a positive impact on countless lives, including mine. Thank you, Matt, for everything you do.

Well, I’ve been with BHG in Joplin for 10 years now, and I really couldn’t ask for a better place to get real treatment. I’m from California, been on methadone on and off for 30 years. This time I’ve been on it straight since 2008. I moved to Arkansas in 2017 and chose BHG to do my treatment. I’m so happy I chose BHG, it’s honestly the best clinic I’ve ever been to. Ever. My counselor Nancy is the most amazing beautiful soul I’ve met in my life. She is a blessing to me and to the clinic. Every one of her patients love her. The nurses are so sweet and respectful. I have been to so many clinics where the nurses are rude, disrespectful and right down mean. That’s not the case at BHG. I love these nurses. It’s literally a joy to go pick up my medication, I always look forward to seeing the nurses and getting my 5 minutes of chat time with them. These ladies are never rude, even when having a bad day, they all keep their smile and always are respectful. Lisa is an amazing director, (I think that’s what her title is, lol. I’m an old lady so please forgive me if I’m wrong) Lisa is a wonderful young lady, I just adore her. The doctor is one of my favorite people on earth. Every year at my physical, she makes me laugh so much. She is a compassionate and funny soul, and genuinely cares about her patients. BHG truly is the best clinic to go to for real treatment. Every one who works there is so kind and supportive. They really care how you’re doing. And they are there for you when you’re not doing so well. You can’t get better treatment anywhere else.
