For anyone seeking detox and/or intensive inpatient, Rushford is the place to go. The staff and environment are impeccable. Rich, Joe,Brian, Kelly, and Briana,just to name a few,we're awesome in helping me recover from the illness of addiction. The IOP was very helpful for me. A majority of the staff were very supportive and helpful. There is one woman there “beau” I think is how you spell her name. Always giving me dirty looks, I would wave at her and no response. It made me very uncomfortable in a therapeutic setting.

IOL has been there for me when I was at rock bottom. My first time there in December 2023 was ok, the staff was kind except for one tech from the adult unit... When I went back last December, I ended up staying for Christmas, and the staff did their best to make us happy with gifts, games, etc. I stayed for almost a month and started becoming myself again with help from my favourite tech and my favorite nurses. This was the first place that actually treated me like a human being while being in a psych facility. Most of the staff were still there from the first time and they had a better understanding with what was going on. I was so happy they remembered what had helped me last time.

Evidence based treatment approaches, cognitive and dialectical behavior therapy, individualized treatment plans, a safe and supportive environment, a thorough intake process and the ability to address co-occurring conditions, different levels of care and substance abusive. My mom has been seeing Dr Foreman for at least 10 years and she drives 30 minutes for him even though she's nervous driving. She's always said how nice all of the receptionists are. I left a message yesterday to get an initial appointment but haven't heard back. I'll be calling again tomorrow because I absolutely hate where I am currently. And my mom's the most critical person ever and for her to like this place for over 10 years and STILL have great things to say says A LOT!

Spoke to a Megan on the phone about a concern I had with someone at the facility and Megan (the facility manager) was rude and unhelpful . There are other medical professionals in Torrington that are quite accommodating . I don’t recommend this facility.

Hey,
I had a run-in with the police, and I have a problem with authority. So obviously this went bad and the police escalated it to the point where they arrested me. Instead of going to jail care and help me decrease my aggression. Working with the therapist at BHcare I’ve been able to become a happier person and happier and doing the things that I do. I look forward to working with the therapist to improve myself so that I can become more Productive.

Great internship opportunity working in Staff Development after being denied ability to be a Summer RA @ Uconn despite rocking the interviews and saving a resident from ramifications who ultimately got the summer job (that resident was so rude to me smh and even ignored me in the interview process like I didn't just help her land an opportunity). My mentor in Jane was amazing and she supported me when a staff came in like a hawk questioning me about watching her presentation on diabetes (talking bout ohh I thought staff development was trying to watch me through you as an intern 😅 😒). Ms. Fleischmann will forever be a fav bc I learned so much under her direction. Not only in knowledge but in life. So much love there.

This is a helpful place in my opinion. When you're feeling so so ill they'll get you back on your feet. They are kind and generous. If I didn't need possible surgery on a very painful shoulder. I may have went from the detox straight into their rehab program. Good food endless juices and snacks. Restful place with kind staff

I show up at 8Am and I am second in line. They end up giving me an appointment for 11 Am. I’m upset because I called out of work that morning and I already had a pediatrician appointment at 11:40. Heidi tells me I should come in before 8AM tomorrow again (like I don’t have a job and kids to feed and she’s saying it while unbeknownst to her I was there before 8Am 😡) I tell her I can’t do it because I already did that today and that I WOULD come back after picking up my baby, when I come back with my infant SHE HAD CANCELLED MY APPOINTMENT. She has the poor older lady come confront me to tell me a lie that the provider had an urgent matter and left. I of course question it and they admit it was a mistake and she cancelled me. Heidy refused to look at me. I told her she could’ve just been upfront or said something and that she knew I already had a rough day and I told them I couldn’t take off work for tomorrow. And now that my appointment is canceled the very least she can do is just own it and tell me what happened or offer me helpful solutions. She just refused to look at me or help me and ignored me when I talked to her. Disheartening experience. Two stars for the kind hispanic lady who helped me, I apologize for not remember her name right now. But I appreciate you coming to talk to me and offering helpful solutions.

Best treatment facility I have ever gone to. You follow the rules and everything goes smoothly. They actually care here and will work with you. It’s not all about $ with them. Mike ( the old guy in charge ) has made shady decisions but on the same note had also helped me out… nurses there are awesome especially Candace.

Newport was such a helpful and worth it choice for my recovery. I was provided with great care no matter the time of day or night. My family therapist moe, helped my parent and I start to grow a relationship I never thought id have. My CC's were amazing people! Its really hard to go into residential knowing you wont be home for a long time, but all of my staff made it so much easier and fun. It makes a big difference when your staff and treatment team can have fun and want to be there with all of you so thank you guys for that! The food i will say i struggled with. It wasn't the best tasting or most diverse menu but some days it was pretty good. All of the teachers at Newport are amazing. They make learning fun and relaxed while also still encouraging you to get your work done. I was scared to go to residential but Newport was such a great experience for me and has helped me through things I thought I couldn't even ever live with. I would definitely recommend Newport to any adolescent or family looking to find healthy and helpful treatment with mental health.

Genuinely a great experience. I received a lot of the help I’ve needed for years. The family therapy was very helpful with Gloria in creating a better communication system between me and my parents so far. The food was good when Ben made it, but it wasn’t the most balanced. Overall, the living space and treatment team was great and I hope you decide to send your adolescent here.

My experience was absolutely amazing. I was in the Mustang pod, October 25 (2023) - January 7 (2024). I was previously at a rehab in Minnesota and it was a unanimous decision that I needed more treatment. From the very first day I got there everyone was so welcoming, kind and accepting. I have severe allergies to egg and peanut so that also gives me really bad food anxiety. The nutritionist there was so so helpful and made sure I always had a fulfilling meal, from Breakfast to evening snack to the food I have to eat before breakfast (meds). Since I was in the substance abuse pod, we were able to go off site to NA/AA meetings. That helped me immensely. Kayla and Lisa the counselors for this pod are literally heaven sent. I love them so much and never made anything I talked about feel embarrassing or stupid. All the activities we had throughout the day like Gong, Equine, Music therapy, Tea making, Yoga, Gym, Nutrition, Adventure (S/O J.D), Art, Alumni, MMA (Love Vince, he's awesome.), and others I probably forgot to mention. For school, the teachers I had helped me a lot and made sure I was caught up and beyond where I needed to be in order to pass my sophomore year. (Ayeeee shout out Chris) There was quite a bit of drama, but nothing intolerable. The only thing I really disliked was how immature some of the staff was, making some people in my house (Dove) feel invalidated etc. That obviously isn't something that changed how my entire experience was but i was also one of those people they didn't 'like' for a little bit. I think they need to be more mindful when choosing who to hire. When we just have chill time in between activities, the CC's were so fun and easy to talk to. They all had such a huge impact on my stay. And the cooks!!! Holy crap. They kept me feeling included 3x a day every single day. When we had continental breakfast, they would make me egg free muffins, or the French toast bake egg free. And when it was something I just didn't like, I was able to eat a Sun butter and Jelly, Pasta, or cereal. I never went to bed or woke up hungry, unlike my other experience elsewhere. Overall it was such an eye opening experience and forever changed my life for the better. Also they did an amazing job administrating my Vivitrol injection monthly. One of the CC'S would go in there with me and hold my hand and talk to me. I'm sober to this day, (2 years coming up!!) Reading these reviews makes me upset, because in these programs you have to want to get better. You have to try and if you don't you're going to have a bad experience. It sucks at first, I would literally cry every week before, during, and after family therapy, but it's not because the therapist is bad. These 1 star reviews are solely personal. It has nothing to do with the staff. They're simply doing their job and making sure you are putting in the work to get better. Its not supposed to be fun. But if you put the hard stuff aside and focus on petting the horses, or making your tea bags when it's that time, you will find it to be tolerable. A good attitude = good outcomes.
