The facility (new wing) is beautifully designed, rooms are spacious, clean & bright. We were able to decorate the room with familiar items from home. Since the staff is the backbone of the facility, I would say they are caring, compassionate & responsive to needs of our loved one. We are grateful for the patience, professionalism & constant vigilance for her safety. The staff was proactive in communicating with us in any changes of condition or concerns. We were always greeted warmly when visiting.
The owners were available if needed and very attentive to any questions or concerns we had. We appreciate the high level of care my MIL received.

Been here since 2016 and they allow you to have a benzo script, easy to get take homes and hardly zero punishments for dirties. They cleaned up the riff raff in the ed parking lot too. Downside or upside depending on how you look at it but no counselors.

This place is amazing. I can not say enought fantastic positive praise to the staff there. Safe environment, a lot of groups and classes & outside time. Cafeteria is phenomenal. I would highly recommend going there for detox & then a 28 day program in house. IOP aftercare as well.

I came to rushford broken. Thanks to the kind and caring staff i have been able to pick up the peices. I felt safe and comfortable during my visit. I recommend this facility when at all possible.

To be honest I was thinking I didn’t need to go and I was mandated to go for court and it turned out to be a experience that I was not aware that I needed we as people need to be more open to mental health and this is not to judge or target it’s just for self care I would recommend to everyone

The Hospital which saved my child and family. We were so relieved to have our daughter be brought here after her miserable stay in the small room without any window at CCMC. Natchaug Hospital staff have such great affection for what they do. They are compassionate with patients which make relatives happy and rest assured that their family member is in safe hands. From the doctors, therapist, nurses and patient care assistants are all very respectful. I really admired the staff for their excellent work they do everyday. We had the opportunity to speak with our child whenever we wanted. I didn’t hear anyone disrespecting a child or belittling anyone. The staff understood that the children are not in their normal state of mind which means their attentiveness was always required. Thanks everyone for helping our daughter and family.

So at first I was very nervous about having my adolescent child here after reading reviews! So much so I drove up in middle of the night when he first arrived. Because I needed to lay eyes on him, and get a feel for the facility. It’s a very clean comfortable environment. The entire staff was so attentive to him his entire stay!! I was able to call anytime and speak to him he was able to call home as often as he needed!! The doctors nurses and mental health workers were AMAZING!!!! I was impressed with how well trained they are with working with people that are having a hard time! They were very patient with my son, and kept me very informed with exactly every thing going on with him! The Pscyh doctors know there stuff!! You are great hands here, trust the process! even my son felt he received the best care! We thank you from the bottom of our hearts!

I have recently attended the PHP program in Glastonbury with great success. The support you get from the providers and staff is phenomenal. The groups are relevant to what is going on and how to stay sober. You feel seen and heard by both the staff and the clients who are there with you. It is a non-judgement zone so you can truly be yourself, learn from others and work on your sobriety journey. Whether this is your first or tenth time, you are always treated with respect. I am now in the IOP and close to graduating to the Outpatient program once or twice a week. I have all the tools I need to be successful, from who to reach out to, to coping skills, to distraction and more.

The IOP was very helpful for me. A majority of the staff were very supportive and helpful. There is one woman there “beau” I think is how you spell her name. Always giving me dirty looks, I would wave at her and no response. It made me very uncomfortable in a therapeutic setting.

IOL has been there for me when I was at rock bottom. My first time there in December 2023 was ok, the staff was kind except for one tech from the adult unit... When I went back last December, I ended up staying for Christmas, and the staff did their best to make us happy with gifts, games, etc. I stayed for almost a month and started becoming myself again with help from my favourite tech and my favorite nurses. This was the first place that actually treated me like a human being while being in a psych facility. Most of the staff were still there from the first time and they had a better understanding with what was going on. I was so happy they remembered what had helped me last time.

Evidence based treatment approaches, cognitive and dialectical behavior therapy, individualized treatment plans, a safe and supportive environment, a thorough intake process and the ability to address co-occurring conditions, different levels of care and substance abusive. Quality therapy sessions like coping skills, self esteem, family issues, stress management, etc. IOL is an outstanding 200 year old institution with a seller reputation.

I love this place for Therapy for my daughter she only 10yrs old and she has improved dramatically because of her visits a Wheeler Clinic. I think it is a good place compared to some I have been in. All the A.P.R.N.'s and Dr"s are helpful and polite. I am on FMLA and they fill out my certification papers every 6 months. I have never had an issue with the ladies at the check in desks. They are good for medication management. I don't do therapy.

I was part of the STARS program in September of 2012. It was court ordered and I honestly did not want to go. I asked to just be sent back York. I was sick and not looking forward to being there at all. By the time I got there it was 6pm and I had to do an intake. I hate intakes and I especially hate intakes when I’m sick. They made it as painless as possible. I finally was able to go to the floor, I was put on B side. I was thankful to see a lot of the women who were in York with me as well. My first week was rough and just went to appease court. I’ve done detox and rehab and find them all to be the same. It’s always someone saying they know what I’m going through, they care about me etc etc. I was assigned a counselor and a process group, I still wasn’t wanting to be there. After 2 weeks of being sick and finally being able to get on methadone, I thought this may actually work this time! My counselor was Bev, she was absolutely incredible! She took her time with me and didn’t push me to open up, she just patiently waited until I was ready. I never saw anyone be mistreated, disrespected or degraded. I ended up staying past my discharge date because I had to wait for placement somewhere else after. I honestly owe my clean time to Bev. She showed me that I could do it and I wasn’t hopeless. I have been clean since August 12th 20212. I entered Merritt Hall on September 12th 2012 from York Correctional Facility. I will have 9 years clean in August thanks to Bev and Merritt Hall.
***update*** I see my review is getting a lot of traction. I’m still clean with no relapse! 8/12/2012!

You can tell the staff here is overworked but the place was still clean and felt safe and the meals were decent. They do a good job of providing a structured environment where you can take solid steps to start recovery

Staff is friendly, patient, willing to listen, and quite professional, yet also fairly relaxed and casual. The building itself is quite basic, and the layout is a bit odd, as I had to be guided quite a ways from the lobby to a small room for my intake appointment. Not really a big deal, and not the fault of the staff at all; they're just making the best of the weird layout.
They clearly make an effort to keep the place clean as well, though I saw a few small tables that were covered in paperwork and other such things in one room. Didn't see any obvious dust, dirt, or garbage, so it's likely just one instance of mild clutter.
Giving 4 stars for treatment effectiveness as I haven't actually begun treatment yet, though they are moving it along as quickly and thoroughly as they can. My intake was yesterday, and med management has already been approved. Just got the call a few minutes ago. This shows how dedicated they are in providing the necessary care to those who need it.

Great internship opportunity working in Staff Development after being denied ability to be a Summer RA @ Uconn despite rocking the interviews and saving a resident from ramifications who ultimately got the summer job (that resident was so rude to me smh and even ignored me in the interview process like I didn't just help her land an opportunity). My mentor in Jane was amazing and she supported me when a staff came in like a hawk questioning me about watching her presentation on diabetes (talking bout ohh I thought staff development was trying to watch me through you as an intern 😅 😒). Ms. Fleischmann will forever be a fav bc I learned so much under her direction. Not only in knowledge but in life. So much love there.
