From the moment I brought my son to AWA, I knew we were in the right place. I was exhausted, constantly worrying about my teen and the risky behaviors he was engaging in. Every discussion became an heated argument with no resolution.
Immediately after admission, AWA had a treatment plan in place for us. We finally had a safe place to share our issues, without fear, judgement or harsh criticism.
During my son’s treatment at AWA, I always felt that all the staff had his best interest truly at heart. They genuinely cared about him. I found the parent support night extremely helpful and learned so much.
However, my son’s therapist, Nicholas, was truly our lifeline. He is down to earth, knowledgeable, kind, helpful and has a special talent for counseling difficult teens. He genuinely cares about his clients. He also was a great role model for my son. Had it not been for Nic, I don’t believe that my son would have completed the program.
I always felt that I was very much included in my son’s plan of care. Nic has a talent for keeping parents up to date without breaking client trust.
Post AWA, I feel like I have my son back!
I'm eternally grateful to all the Dr. Maria and all her staff. I miss them already! Thank you all for your kindness and professionalism.

The Staff, Therapists, and Doctors at AWA are very knowledgeable and detail-oriented. My Daughter received the treatment and support she needed. I can honestly say Transitions is the best recovery center I’ve ever been to. They are definitely not like other rehabs and I’ve been to many different places.
What sets them different: there’s no judgement, you actually see your therapist, a psychiatrist, case management, and medical doctor 1-2 times a week, the groups are very beneficial and THEY TRULY CARE!! That’s by far the biggest thing.
Staff all go out there way to care for us whether big or small.
Housing is beautiful spacious apartments and weekends we do deep cleaning.
Everyday there’s an outside meeting and H&I on property everyday but Sunday. Sundays we do outings as a community like the beach, top golf, or bowling. It’s a great way for us to all have fun at the end of the week.
Shout out to the staff: Lori-Ann, Austin, Will, Maxime, Michael, Winnie, Summer, Tay Tay, Manny, Art, Dr. K, Jeff, Dr. Seely, Jennifer, and Shelly. Yall make this program worth being apart of. I would HIGHLY recommend joining this fellowship! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Great place. Especially for couples, get the privacy of your own room together. The staff is great. Jose went out of his way for me and is and excellent tech. Unlike any other place I’ve been to, the staff treated me with such a graceful and welcoming attitude. The whole facility maxes out at about 25 people so groups and therapy are all tailored to you. From the very head of principles down to the drivers you get the same consistency in willingness to help. Facility is ran smoothly with attention to detail including cleanliness. I highly recommend this to anyone I know in a similar situation especially if you’re indecisive on narrowing down the complex recovery network in South Florida.

I just finished my first visit with my new cardiologist, Dr Deepika Misra, at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach.
I was a little nervous going to a new clinic and engaging into a new relationship with a new doctor.
The whole experience was amazingly easy and and very welcoming.
I did most of my check in online in My Chart and the receptionists were very professional.
My waiting time was last than ten minutes and I was getting my vitals done by a doctor assistant and her trainee. Both were very polite and efficient.
They confirmed my meds from the list on My Chart and gave me EKG.
Dr.Misra arrived moments later and right way i realized that I was in good hands!
She asked me the correct questions and offered me educated answers.
The doctor was so nice and polite and was even concerned about my sleeping habits that she want to know how many pillows I slept with!
I am not a hypocondriac but I am looking forward to my next appointment.

I want to express my deepest gratitude to two exceptional nurses, Ernest Knight and Asley Fernández, on the 4th floor. My mother recently underwent major lung surgery, and during such a difficult and painful time, they treated her with incredible kindness, compassion, and dedication.
Ernest cared for my mother throughout her first night after surgery. He was attentive all night, constantly checking on her, making sure she was comfortable and that her pain was being addressed. His patience and gentle manner gave us so much peace of mind.
Asley cared for her the following morning with the same extraordinary compassion. She was attentive to every detail, helped bathe her, kept her comfortable, and treated her with genuine love and tenderness.
As a daughter, there is nothing more comforting than seeing your mother treated with such humanity during a vulnerable moment. Ernest and Asley are truly wonderful nurses, and Mount Sinai should be very proud to have them. Our family will never forget the care and kindness they showed my mother. Thank you both from the bottom of our hearts! ❤️

Maria T. Montoto, the Practice Manager, has been one of the most dynamic and helpful people in the practice. She has shown me exceptional attention, compassion, and support, going far beyond what is normally expected. She made what could have been a logistical nightmare with appointments and consultations feel simple, organized, and effortless. It is easy to see why the practice runs so smoothly. Thank you a million, Maria.
Dr. Borrego has provided me with professionalism, compassion, and truly attentive care. Her warmth and understanding make it easy to speak openly and feel heard. She has made a difficult experience feel reassuring and positive, and I am very grateful for the trust and confidence I have in her.
Dr. Copola has become a tremendous asset to my care and to the practice. He has been seeing me and providing thoughtful assessments on behalf of Dr. Borrego, and I have been extremely impressed by his ability to listen, understand, and evaluate each situation thoroughly. He is kind, compassionate, attentive, and exceptionally professional. I always feel comfortable speaking openly with him, and I greatly value the insight and care he brings to every assessment. He is truly an excellent doctor and a wonderful addition to an already outstanding team.
Bella, the Pharmacy Technician, has also been wonderful. She has helped me with prescription logistics and made sure my medications are sent regularly and without unnecessary complications. Her reliability and willingness to help have made everything much easier.

Serenity Oaks changed my life. I went in a terrified shell of a person. I left born again, a new man entirely. The team of therapist is amazing. Jeff and Fumni especially, they saved my life. That place made me realize so much about myself I never thought was possible. Today I am clean and sober living a live beyond my wildest dreams. Pines Recovery Life was absolutely the best choice I could’ve made to get sober and help save my life! I’ve been struggling with alcoholism for approximately 15 years with limited success staying sober. I live in Savannah, Georgia and decided to attend treatment for my alcoholism in Broward County Florida for a new environment. Originally, I had difficulty finding a high medical detox facility that accepted my insurance due to my medical condition. I was diagnosed with Stage 4 colon cancer this past March. Fortunately, Pines Recovery Life is one of the providers in my network with CHAMPVA that also provides a medically supervised detox program. The entire staff and my case manager went above and beyond to accommodate all of my medical needs. This included assisting with transferring my medical records from the cancer center in Savannah to a local hospital within 20 minutes of the rehab center, maintaining my doctor’s appointments, and most importantly ensuring that I was able to still continue on schedule with my regular chemotherapy sessions while completing my addiction treatment. They provided transportation to all of my appointments and even stayed with me for emotional support throughout the visit. This facility provided me with my own personal room with a full bathroom in the room with a queen bed! They went out of their way to make sure I was as comfortable as possible throughout my treatment process!
I was assigned to a therapist with expertise in addiction services who provided me with the tools to maintain my sobriety, moving forward along on my recovery journey. I would highly recommend this facility to anyone and everyone struggling with alcoholism or addiction!

The staff were great and caring food was good especially compared to other facilities I've been too. The rooms were comfortable at most times depending on the roommate. The bath facilities could be a bit better but again definitely seen worse. Nobody likes going to treatment, but they made the uncomfortable more comfortable.
