I'm not sure who you spoke to however Highland Rivers Health does accept private pay. They have a sliding scale fee system. They no longer accept commercial insurance. Monday and Wednesday are Open Access days starting at 8 am.. Intakes are done on a first come first serve basis except for individuals who are hospital release or crisis appointments. You need a GA ID, SSA card, of and proof of income. They'll give you time to get proof of income and SSA card.
That staff works really hard to provide the best care possible to all the individuals they serve.

Ball Ground, Georgia | Blue Ridge Mountain Recovery Center is an alcohol and drug addiction treatment center based in Ball Ground, Georgia. They offer medically supervised detox and inpatient treatment services to adults. They have a program specifically designed to treat active military members, veterans and first responders. They take a whole person approach to treatme | Treatments Programs Payment Options | I recently completed the 39 days at Blue Ridge Mountain Recovery Center and left with lasting tools to manage both my addiction, anxiety and depression. The grounds were absolutely beautiful, with sunny common areas for group therapy and a pond for quiet reflection. From day one, Brittney, one of my favorite nurses, monitored my detox symptoms with compassion making the medical side of recovery feel safe and supported.
But the heart of my transformation came from Dustin, my individual and small group counselor. Dustin didn’t just guide me—he saved my life. His presence, patience, empathy, authenticity and insight helped me find my voice after years of silence. In our sessions, I learned how to speak up for myself, name my pain, and begin to heal. I’ll never forget the breakthrough moments I had in his sessions. I could go on and on. Immense gratitude that he entered my life when he did.
The peer counselors were equally impactful; Cam was such an empathetic, kind, compassionate, genuine, positive soul. She still checks on me to this day. Forever Grateful to her. From Beth, Bill, Zac, Conrad, and a few more—I can’t tell you how much I appreciate your kindness and realness. Thank you.
By the end of the program, I noticed a dramatic shift in my ability to regulate anxiety without using substances. My relationships have healed, and I’ve maintained sobriety for almost 6 months so far. I wholeheartedly recommend BRMRC to anyone seeking recovery—especially if you’re ready to find your voice and save your life. It saved mine.

Day 151, and I’ve regained control of my life in ways I never thought possible..thanks to the incredible techs, nurses, counselors, and everyone at Blue Ridge Mountain Recovery Center. When I walked in on Day 0, I was exhausted, broken, and hopeless. Today, while I’m still healing, I’m living clean and finally learning to enjoy life again.
Blue Ridge didn’t just treat my addiction, they helped me and my family truly understand the underlying issues that led me here. They taught me how to cope, how to see myself differently, and how to begin rebuilding from the inside out. This wasn’t my first time in treatment, but it was the first time I realized that “rock bottom” has a basement, and I was beyond tired of living that way.
Here, I learned how to love myself again and found a community of people who continue to lift each other up to this day. I owe my health, my peace, and my life to Blue Ridge. If you’re tired of being sick and tired, tired of lying to yourself, and ready for a change, give yourself and Blue Ridge Mountain Recovery Center a chance. It saved my life. With love. -miguel

Hi. I just want to say this is a great facility for detoxing and peer support. But, when I came here I was not able to receive the medication I needed when I found the one that worked. I told my doctor that the adavan the nurses were giving me worked and that I was calm and aware of my surroundings. He said to take lithium and I said No because I have been on so many drugs in the past and they did not work, that because I knew the adavan worked to give me that. I started arguing with him and then I left without any medication except for the one pill that actually worked the first night I got there. So now it's been 5 months and I still have the same underlying problems; paranoia, anxiety, negative energy, hate, anger, and pessimism. I just want the nurses and health aides to know they are very good people and do a good job and the psychiatrist is a big fat nimrod with a paper shredder degree. Thank you.

Just wanted to share my appreciation with the staff, ER nurses, doctors and to all the nurses, and cleaning team who were with me at Northside Hospital on 9/25-9/26 room 7238. The world needs people like you all in health care! 💪🏽🩺💉🏥♥️
Ronda in the ER who did all my blood work and medicine on 9/25 was amazing. I called up the ER after I left just to get her name. You made me feel so taken care of and were great to my husband.
My first night once I was admitted into a room 7238 9/25, I believe her name was Caitlyn she were awesome. So patient, and gentle, seemed like she really cared even though in comparison, I’m sure my reason for being there was far less extreme than others. Lindsey, Destiney, Grace, Donna, Haley and two others I can’t remember their names but one had curly brunette hair and arm tattoos, and her partner was blonde and in training. Everyone was just nice to be around, joked and talked with me, came every time I buzzed or needed anything. The cleaning team was so sweet checking on me and professional. Both doctors I worked with were amazing.
A big thank you to Dr Pinette (who I told look like Kid Cudi which makes him ever more awesome) that completed my surgery. You took the time to draw and explain exactly what, why, and how you were doing the things you were in surgery. Answered all of mind and my husbands questions. You and your whole team on 9/26 were welcoming, nice and professional.
This was my first experience in my adult life ever having to stay at a hospital, which I am thankful for. But being with people that care about the quality of their work and their patients goes a long was and is incredibly appreciated. Thank you again to the Northside Cherokee team for being so awesome at what you do.

Hiram, Georgia | Hope Harbor Wellness is a drug treatment facility in Hiram, Georgia which is just 30 miles west of Atlanta. The organization was started in 2020 by a woman who successfully recovered from drug addiction. With statistics showing an increase in drug overdoses in Georgia in recent years, Hope Harbor Wellness recognized a need to help address these hea | Programs Payment Options | The journey of my recovery has definitely been a rollercoaster. I had to be court ordered to a program for a year. With devastation, I packed my bags and entered Hope Harbor hopeless and full of resentments for myself and the ones around me. To my surprise, this year has been the biggest blessing I could have received. The staff at Hope Harbor care about their clients and helped me cope immensely with my situation. As funny as it may seem, the clients and staff became like a second family to me. The groups are set to help those dealing with mental health and substance abuse issues, and it did just that. I’ve not only seen my life change before my eyes, but I’ve seen other clients excel and become an even more beautiful version of themselves. Self love is something many battle with daily, but the staff encourage and show clients different ways to show love for themselves and others. Hope Harbor Wellness Gave Me My Life Back
Walking into Hope Harbor Wellness after completing detox from fentanyl, I was overwhelmed, unsure, and full of fear. I didn’t know what to expect — and like many in early recovery, I was skeptical. But from the very beginning, something felt different here. I was immediately welcomed with warmth, compassion, and a sense of safety that I hadn’t felt in years.
The staff at Hope Harbor are truly one-of-a-kind. They are not just professionals — they are people who genuinely care, deeply and selflessly. They don’t clock out when the day ends. There is support here 24 hours a day. Whether you need someone to talk to, cry with, vent to, or just sit quietly beside so you don’t feel alone, there is always someone there. That kind of constant, unconditional presence made all the difference for me. I never felt judged — only seen, heard, and understood.
One of the most powerful things about Hope Harbor Wellness is that many of the staff are in recovery themselves. They’re not just here for a paycheck — they’re here because they get it. They’ve walked the same path and know firsthand how hard it can be, which makes their support feel that much more genuine. They are living proof that recovery is possible, that you can overcome addiction, and go on to live a happy, sober, and fulfilling life. Having them by your side — people who truly understand — makes all the difference.
Going through PHP and IOP at Hope Harbor was the best decision I could’ve made for my recovery. This isn’t just a program — it’s a lifeline. They teach you how to live again, how to build real coping skills, and how to navigate the real world without falling back into addiction. They meet you where you are, walk beside you through the process, and help you build a foundation for a better future.
I’m beyond grateful — more than words can really say. Hope Harbor didn’t just help me stay clean. They helped me heal. They helped me believe in myself again. They helped me realize that I’m not alone, and that recovery is possible — one day at a time.
If you’re struggling and don’t know where to turn, this is the place. Hope Harbor Wellness truly saves lives — and they saved mine.

It was a safe place during my most suicidal years. I really appreciated the ability to isolate in my room, unlike other facilities that lock the rooms during the day. First of all, if you or a loved one are struggling with addiction of any kind, please know there is hope. My heart goes out to you. Stay strong, stay connected, and never lose faith.
ARP has truly been an angel sent into my life. I feel so blessed that our paths crossed. When I thought my world was ending and I was losing all hope, they stepped in—for both me and my daughter. Now, about five years later, I can honestly say they saved my daughter’s life, and in many ways, they saved my family too.
It’s not magic—it takes hard work—but none of it would have been possible without the people who work there. I may forget some names, but Jeff in particular is a gift from God. He does his job with love, empathy, honesty, a sense of fun, and unwavering dedication.
I truly hope ARP can help you or your loved ones the way they helped us. I know every journey is different, but from the bottom of my heart, I wish you the very best.
Thank you, ARP and team, for everything you’ve done for my daughter. Watching her grow free from chains and thrive is priceless. Thank you!

Im currently a client on methadone that has moved from Ca. to Ga. It was spur of the moment with no time to make arrangements. I spoke with ERIC on Healthqwests csr dept based on New Jersey. Fyi. Ive been in tech supt, customer service, Quality Assurance & M.I.S. For over 30 yrs Ive worn a headset and have been helping customers. Ive ALWAYS gone above and beyond to help, which is why I can say that ERIC assessed my dilemma for what it was and did his best to move Heaven and earth for me to get me the help i needed 2 days ago. He had an entire queue to help and he took my case as personal as was needed to help me. Moving here I have to change my Medicaid to Ga. which is NOT ez or quick. And I, having heart disease and 5 stents in my heart from 2 heart attacks. Short version of of i didn't get help and go into withdrawl the strain on my heart would no doubt KILL me. The man devoted most of his day trying to get my situation straightened out. Im detailing this because I want you to know this was the BEST service ive ever received in my 60 plus years on this planet, and it happened when my literal life was on the line. Healthqwest cant be beat if you want genuine effort with your help. The prices are competitive but you can't go wrong using them.
Ill answer any question or comment too. The medication I take is no joke. I take it for a broken back I got when I was year ended on my motorcycle at a red light. I take it for Pain mgmt.
Its a serious subject and serious things happen with it....and more without it. Id be crippled, so you can see the magnitude of my plight.
Eric knew and did everything he could.

Honest rating of overall facility.
This place was genuinely a life changer for me, and I could see that in other kids there as well. I loved almost every therapist there, and most of the kids were friendly. I really liked the adolescent room because it was spacious, and it was always clean. The bathrooms never had any paper towels, but other than that the restrooms were very clean. Honestly, I can't ever remember a time that the facility was dirty or cramped.
Honest rating on each therapist.
Ashley - Ashley is awesome! During my time at Embark, Ashley ran most of our groups. She was so kind, and compassionate. I feel like she genuinely perused this kind of work because it's her passion to help people. She always listened and made sure everybody got a chance to talk. She also is very observant, and checks in if you're not having the best day. Which is really nice sometimes to know somebody notices and cares is comforting.
David - David is also a really cool guy. He ran group often. He can be a little bit rough sometimes, but everybody has different ideas on how to do things. For example, if you were sleeping during therapy, he'd bang on the table, which can be a trigger for some people. He can also be a little bit strict sometimes, for example taking the markers, or popsicle sticks that we're aloud to have with every other therapist. From what I heard he does really well as an individual, or family therapist. Overall, I think he genuinely is passionate about his job, is a good person, and cares a lot about the kids even if it might not seem it sometimes.
Elvin - Awesome dude! Elvin was genuinely so kind and always energetic. I think he wrote prescription medicine, and if you have any problems with that, he gets it resolved very fast. He only did group sometimes for adolescents when I was there, but when he did an amazing job in my opinion. He's genuinely such a cool dude he will talk to you about literally anything, he's an open book and has some pretty cool stories!
Myron - Myron was my individual and family therapist. Genuinely such a cool, funny, nice dude! I really enjoyed my individual therapy sessions with him, and he was the first therapists I felt I ever made progress with. He didn't do group much, so I can't really say if he's good at it, but I'm sure he is! He really cares about his patients.
Jamonica - Jamonica was someone who also did groups quite often. Her energy is so great, and she was soooo kind to me while I was there. She's such a sweet person, and you can really tell how passionate about her job she is. I've also heard she's an amazing individual and family therapist.
Lauren - I rarely ever talked to her. She rarely did group for the adolescents, but some of the other adolescents said she's an amazing individual therapist. I didn't not talk to her for any specific reason; she just didn't do group much and primarily was in her office. I talked to her maybe once or twice, and when I did, she was nice.
Maya - She ran group occasionally and was perfectly fine. She wasn't my personal favorite therapist, but not for any bad reason. I didn't really love the skills she taught, and how she taught them, but nothing against her at all. I'm not sure if she's an individual therapist.
Med management (Dr. Hooper) - Dr. Hooper is super friendly, and really good at finding the right medication fits for you. Php meets with her once every week, while Iop meets with her once every 2 weeks.
Maria - Maria is also a nice lady. I'm honestly not sure what she does, but when I was enrolling, she did the paperwork and stuff. You will also take outcomes, which ask you questions about how you're dealing with anxiety, depression, etc. She has access to those outcomes, so 100% feel free to ask her to take a look at them!
Overall, I think the staff is awesome!
Please check bags better, Embark. The bag checking is honestly a joke. There are people who deal with all kinds of things, and not saying anything would happen but please check better just in case.
Goodbye, Team Embark, I'll miss you guys!

We have been on a mental health journey with our daughter for quite some time. Nothing ever seemed to click, and past PHP programs caused only more harm and trauma with no healing. Since joining the Embark program we can see glimmers of it working. I know that she feels safe here, and has confidence in her care (as do we). We attended a family night and when they say family they clearly include the caregivers and staff along with the patients and their family. I say this because the whole vibe was joy and love. I couldn't be happier (or more relieved) about our choice.
