Ronnie and Penny Haynes (they run the place) do a great job of making it a safe place where you can develop a clear and sustainable path to recovery and healing. I met so many good men who changed their lives at Good Shepherd, me included.
Ronnie and Penny treat you like their own family. They will love you even if you don't want to be loved.
Penny is a fantastic counselor who does not force you to heal, but I promise you, she will earn your trust. And then you will want to heal. You will want to open up to Penny so you can get your life back on track.
And Ronnie is like a good father who will fight for you even when you don't have the heart to fight for yourself. Recovery is hard, and it is hard on the people around you too, but Ronnie and Penny will not abandon you. They will be with you every step of the way.
I could go on and on - and probably should - but the point is that the Good Shepherd is a place where you can focus on your own healing in a safe and wonderful place surrounded by good people who truly want you to live your best sober life.
If you are reading this, I'm sure you or a family member is having a tough time. I don't know you but I know God loves you and I love you too, and whatever hardships you are going through in life, I know that you can find help here. I certainly did.

This is a wonderful place for men in need of a safe place to recover from many forms of addiction. The home is huge and welcoming and provides men a place to learn many great things . The counseling is fantastic too. It is a Christ centered ministry, and Pastor Ronnie and Penny are sound Biblical teachers of The Word. They are honest and sincere. I went a couple years ago. I was extremely impressed with all the staff, top to bottom, are ALL IN RECOVERY themselves. It gives facilitators credibility that can't be learned, except by personal experience. The facilities are first class. It's a huge, multi room house with usually 3 to a room. Each room has it's own very classy bathroom and shower. The cafeteria serves great food. They'll accommodate any diet requirements.

From day one, the clinical team made me feel genuinely seen, heard, and supported. Their level of care goes beyond just professionalism, you can tell they truly care about each person’s recovery and long-term success. The curriculum is thoughtful, engaging, and applicable to real life, not just something to sit through. It challenged me in the best way and gave me tools I’ll carry with me moving forward.
The housing component was also a huge part of my experience. It was clean, comfortable, and provided a safe, structured environment that made it easier to focus on healing and growth.
What stands out most is how much The Carter Center believes in its clients. They don’t just get you through the program, they help you believe in yourself again. I’m leaving with confidence, clarity, and a real sense that my success in recovery is possible. I’m incredibly grateful for this experience and would highly recommend it to anyone seeking help.

I knew when I walked in the door and saw Sheby's weloming face that my life was about to change. And I was ready for it. The caring staff and counselors Nick, Jeremy, Aaleyah, Tatiana, Stephen, and especially Rachel have given me lots of new tools to add to my arsenal to help keep me sober. Every day they challenged me and called me on my bull. They also supported me when i needed while also not allowing me to stay rooted in the same place. Truly the best part of TCTC are the other clients. Connecting with people going through similar things, people who shared hopes and dreams for a sober future. The friendships i made there gives me alot of hope for our futures. If u also do housing the apartments u stay in is in a nice community located near an outlet mall and tons of other businesse. U will feel safe in the accomodations. The housing staff also work tirelessly to make sure u have what u need. Hillary and Fallon are just a two in housing that always hear you and fight for u. Ultimately the goal is longterm sobriety and i couldn't have a better team fighting for me. Thank u TCTC for all that u have given me!

I had a very nice experience at the Carter Treatment Center. The counselors Stephen, Tatiana, Alleyah ,Jeremy, Rachael, and Nick were all great. Each one of them bought a nice mix of their styles of teaching. Nick spent a great deal of time helping me with several things that I needed help with. This also made my time here a lot less stressful and I amvery greatful for his help. My counselor/Therapist Stephen was also a big help in helping me with the process of sending in the necessary paperwork that I needed for my situation and I am also greatful for his much-needed help. I would strongly recommend this facility for anyone needing help with their substance use issues.

Hi. I just want to say this is a great facility for detoxing and peer support. But, when I came here I was not able to receive the medication I needed when I found the one that worked. I told my doctor that the adavan the nurses were giving me worked and that I was calm and aware of my surroundings. He said to take lithium and I said No because I have been on so many drugs in the past and they did not work, that because I knew the adavan worked to give me that. I started arguing with him and then I left without any medication except for the one pill that actually worked the first night I got there. So now it's been 5 months and I still have the same underlying problems; paranoia, anxiety, negative energy, hate, anger, and pessimism. I just want the nurses and health aides to know they are very good people and do a good job and the psychiatrist is a big fat nimrod with a paper shredder degree. Thank you.

I learned of The Summit Wellness Group in Atlanta, as I researched places suitable for my loved one to receive the needed care. I was tired and beaten down but hopeful to find the perfect fit, and boy did I find it! Firstly, it is staffed with the most knowledgeable and compassionate people an institution of this nature could provide. The staff was warm and inviting on day one; a day that a very anxious young person needed this type of reception. While I wasn’t privy to the treatment provided, not hearing one complaint says a lot! In fact, I only heard positive things and saw excitement, which to me equates to trust and commitment to treatment. I don’t know how they do it but they are very successful in what they do. They’ve helped my loved one see her full potential, love herself again, and gain the renewed confidence necessary to survive this crazy world. If you are looking for the perfect place and group of professionals to help you cope with those demons, give The Summit a chance. I’m betting that you will not regret it. It was a safe place during my most suicidal years. I really appreciated the ability to isolate in my room, unlike other facilities that lock the rooms during the day. Lawrenceville, GA | Purple is a unique rehab center for men in Lawrenceville, Georgia. It’s a residential treatment program, but it’s very different from traditional residential rehab. As a leading inpatient rehab in Georgia, this program is based on the philosophy of an Active Recovery Lifestyle. Many rehabs focus only on taking drugs and alcohol out of your life | Treatments Programs Payment Options | I arrived at Purple last October feeling completely alone, broken, and tired of the way I had been living. The first day I arrived I was met by Nick one of the staff members, and immediately he made it clear that I was family. You learn that you don’t have to face life alone, and the true value of having a community. During my 6 months here, I grew close with a lot of the guys through the workouts, hikes, group therapy sessions, and all the little moments in between. I couldn’t be more grateful for the brotherhood I have today and the second home that Purple has become. Weeping hallows haunt the night,
Sleeping sorrows are all in sight,
Dreary eyes lay upon the sky,
Thoughtless ponder, how and why?
Might I wonder a dream to be,
A new way of life at ARP.

My experience at Sober Living America was a great experience to discover and learn about myself and my addiction. They got me connected with the recovery community and to God. With new friendships made in and out of the rooms of recovery and SLA I learned that I didn't have to do this alone and there was other people struggling with the same things I was experiencing. Thank you for a this new life I found with your help.

I'm trying to get my life together for almost 35 years. Sober living America show me the way and inspired me to do it. Gave me the suggestions and the tools and explain to me that I cannot do it on my own that I got to rely on a higher power. And the higher power was not me. And now with their help I've been clean over four and a half years, and I'm currently going other people that recovery as possible.

HealthQwest Frontiers & | Treatments Programs Payment Options | Im currently a client on methadone that has moved from Ca. to Ga. It was spur of the moment with no time to make arrangements. I spoke with ERIC on Healthqwests csr dept based on New Jersey. Fyi. Ive been in tech supt, customer service, Quality Assurance & M.I.S. For over 30 yrs Ive worn a headset and have been helping customers. Ive ALWAYS gone above and beyond to help, which is why I can say that ERIC assessed my dilemma for what it was and did his best to move Heaven and earth for me to get me the help i needed 2 days ago. He had an entire queue to help and he took my case as personal as was needed to help me. Moving here I have to change my Medicaid to Ga. which is NOT ez or quick. And I, having heart disease and 5 stents in my heart from 2 heart attacks. Short version of of i didn't get help and go into withdrawl the strain on my heart would no doubt KILL me. The man devoted most of his day trying to get my situation straightened out. Im detailing this because I want you to know this was the BEST service ive ever received in my 60 plus years on this planet, and it happened when my literal life was on the line. Healthqwest cant be beat if you want genuine effort with your help. The prices are competitive but you can't go wrong using them.
Ill answer any question or comment too. The medication I take is no joke. I take it for a broken back I got when I was year ended on my motorcycle at a red light. I take it for Pain mgmt.
Its a serious subject and serious things happen with it....and more without it. Id be crippled, so you can see the magnitude of my plight.
Eric knew and did everything he could.
I cant say enough for them.

So far it has been good I recently transferred in from another clinic they were very helpful the only thing I do not like is all medicaid recipients have to video call daily to take the dose in front of a nurse or else we are not covered by medicaid for that day. Which is a medicaid thing but thats the only difference from my last clinic
