I'm not sure who you spoke to however Highland Rivers Health does accept private pay. They have a sliding scale fee system. They no longer accept commercial insurance. Monday and Wednesday are Open Access days starting at 8 am.. Intakes are done on a first come first serve basis except for individuals who are hospital release or crisis appointments. You need a GA ID, SSA card, of and proof of income. They'll give you time to get proof of income and SSA card. That staff works really hard to provide the best care possible to all the individuals they serve. Edit: currently accepting most commercial insurance products.

I graduated from this program about 6 months ago. It is the best program in the state. And very very affordable. The facility is a huge house in the Jasper mountains with beautiful scenery all around. It is a very clean house. Beautiful house. I miss my workouts in the backyard :) Ronnie and Penny Haynes (they run the place) do a great job of making it a safe place where you can develop a clear and sustainable path to recovery and healing. I met so many good men who changed their lives at Good Shepherd, me included. Ronnie and Penny treat you like their own family. They will love you even if you don't want to be loved. Penny is a fantastic counselor who does not force you to heal, but I promise you, she will earn your trust. And then you will want to heal. You will want to open up to Penny so you can get your life back on track. And Ronnie is like a good father who will fight for you even when you don't have the heart to fight for yourself. Recovery is hard, and it is hard on the people around you too, but Ronnie and Penny will not abandon you. They will be with you every step of the way. I could go on and on - and probably should - but the point is that the Good Shepherd is a place where you can focus on your own healing in a safe and wonderful place surrounded by good people who truly want you to live your best sober life. If you are reading this, I'm sure you or a family member is having a tough time. I don't know you but I know God loves you and I love you too, and whatever hardships you are going through in life, I know that you can find help here. I certainly did.

This is a wonderful place for men in need of a safe place to recover from many forms of addiction. The home is huge and welcoming and provides men a place to learn many great things . The counseling is fantastic too. It is a Christ centered ministry, and Pastor Ronnie and Penny are sound Biblical teachers of The Word. They are honest and sincere. And the Lord is blessing this ministry.

Walking into this treatment center, you immediately feel the difference. The staff show up every day with the mindset that what they do matters on a life-and-death level—because it does. The passion here isn’t performative; it’s embedded in every interaction, every group, every late-night conversation, every crisis de-escalated, every moment someone is struggling and gets met with compassion instead of judgment. You can tell the team doesn’t see this as “just a job.” They fight for their clients’ lives with consistency, heart, and a level of dedication you don’t find everywhere. The culture here is purpose-driven, deeply human, and grounded in the belief that recovery is possible even when someone feels completely lost. If you’re looking for a place where people genuinely care, where the work is taken seriously, and where hope is rebuilt every single day, this is the place. They show up with courage, commitment, and a fire that reminds you your life is worth saving. It's not exaggeration to say that this center changes the trajectory of entire families and futures. This isn’t just treatment, it's life restored.

God used HQ to save my life. I attended the residential program in 2019 as a homeless alcoholic and Benzo addict, encouraged to go to treatment by my family. It’s nearly 2026 and I am living the life that God intended for me to be living, 6.5 years sober, rebuilt relationships, a better understanding of myself, and a genuine relationship and walk with Christ. I found hope at HopeQuest, after which I left a career of over a decade and committed my life to helping others to experience what I got to experience in treatment. Every program will have naysayers, but this program is clinically and theologically sound and exceeds best practice.

Hi. I just want to say this is a great facility for detoxing and peer support. But, when I came here I was not able to receive the medication I needed when I found the one that worked. I told my doctor that the adavan the nurses were giving me worked and that I was calm and aware of my surroundings. He said to take lithium and I said No because I have been on so many drugs in the past and they did not work, that because I knew the adavan worked to give me that. I started arguing with him and then I left without any medication except for the one pill that actually worked the first night I got there. So now it's been 5 months and I still have the same underlying problems; paranoia, anxiety, negative energy, hate, anger, and pessimism. I just want the nurses and health aides to know they are very good people and do a good job and the psychiatrist is a big fat nimrod with a paper shredder degree. Thank you.

All I can say is WOW. After his surgery my husband faced some major complications (no fault of the hospital) and the team here flew into action, answered every question, stood by us with unwaivering support, and provided us with the best care team we could have hoped for. Unfortunately, I had an issue that kept me in the hospital for almost 30 days. I cannot give this hospital enough praise as I never encountered issues with any of the staff. From the doctors, nurses, techs, food services, and janitorial staff, the service I received was excellent. I spent all of my time on the 7th floor so extra kudos to them. All of the depts that I encountered provided very professional service and seemed to actually care for your health.

From the very beginning the staff welcomed me with compassion, respect, and patience. Not only did they provide incredible treatment- they provided me with a family-like support. I felt understood, safe, and valued. The therapists and facilitators earnestly listened and helped me navigate through the most difficult time of my life . It was a safe place during my most suicidal years. I really appreciated the ability to isolate in my room, unlike other facilities that lock the rooms during the day. That was a necessity for me as an autistic person, in order to prevent overwhelm and truly feel safe. Therapy groups could be stressful, but I wasn't forced to attend which I really appreciate. When life feels so out of control, small things like that can go a long way

Incredible experience with this clinic! They are truly specialists. Dr. Shade was the most knowledgeable physician I've seen since my TBI 4 months ago. She truly listened and knew exactly what I needed to move forward in my recovery.

First of all, if you or a loved one are struggling with addiction of any kind, please know there is hope. My heart goes out to you. Stay strong, stay connected, and never lose faith. ARP has truly been an angel sent into my life. I feel so blessed that our paths crossed. When I thought my world was ending and I was losing all hope, they stepped in—for both me and my daughter. Now, about five years later, I can honestly say they saved my daughter’s life, and in many ways, they saved my family too. It’s not magic—it takes hard work—but none of it would have been possible without the people who work there. I may forget some names, but Jeff in particular is a gift from God. He does his job with love, empathy, honesty, a sense of fun, and unwavering dedication. I truly hope ARP can help you or your loved ones the way they helped us. I know every journey is different, but from the bottom of my heart, I wish you the very best. Thank you, ARP and team, for everything you’ve done for my daughter. Watching her grow free from chains and thrive is priceless. Thank you!

Honest rating of overall facility. This place was genuinely a life changer for me, and I could see that in other kids there as well. I loved almost every therapist there, and most of the kids were friendly. I really liked the adolescent room because it was spacious, and it was always clean. The bathrooms never had any paper towels, but other than that the restrooms were very clean. Honestly, I can't ever remember a time that the facility was dirty or cramped. Honest rating on each therapist. Ashley - Ashley is awesome! During my time at Embark, Ashley ran most of our groups. She was so kind, and compassionate. I feel like she genuinely perused this kind of work because it's her passion to help people. She always listened and made sure everybody got a chance to talk. She also is very observant, and checks in if you're not having the best day. Which is really nice sometimes to know somebody notices and cares is comforting. David - David is also a really cool guy. He ran group often. He can be a little bit rough sometimes, but everybody has different ideas on how to do things. For example, if you were sleeping during therapy, he'd bang on the table, which can be a trigger for some people. He can also be a little bit strict sometimes, for example taking the markers, or popsicle sticks that we're aloud to have with every other therapist. From what I heard he does really well as an individual, or family therapist. Overall, I think he genuinely is passionate about his job, is a good person, and cares a lot about the kids even if it might not seem it sometimes. Elvin - Awesome dude! Elvin was genuinely so kind and always energetic. I think he wrote prescription medicine, and if you have any problems with that, he gets it resolved very fast. He only did group sometimes for adolescents when I was there, but when he did an amazing job in my opinion. He's genuinely such a cool dude he will talk to you about literally anything, he's an open book and has some pretty cool stories! Myron - Myron was my individual and family therapist. Genuinely such a cool, funny, nice dude! I really enjoyed my individual therapy sessions with him, and he was the first therapists I felt I ever made progress with. He didn't do group much, so I can't really say if he's good at it, but I'm sure he is! He really cares about his patients. Jamonica - Jamonica was someone who also did groups quite often. Her energy is so great, and she was soooo kind to me while I was there. She's such a sweet person, and you can really tell how passionate about her job she is. I've also heard she's an amazing individual and family therapist. Lauren - I rarely ever talked to her. She rarely did group for the adolescents, but some of the other adolescents said she's an amazing individual therapist. I didn't not talk to her for any specific reason; she just didn't do group much and primarily was in her office. I talked to her maybe once or twice, and when I did, she was nice. Maya - She ran group occasionally and was perfectly fine. She wasn't my personal favorite therapist, but not for any bad reason. I didn't really love the skills she taught, and how she taught them, but nothing against her at all. I'm not sure if she's an individual therapist. Med management (Dr. Hooper) - Dr. Hooper is super friendly, and really good at finding the right medication fits for you. Php meets with her once every week, while Iop meets with her once every 2 weeks. Maria - Maria is also a nice lady. I'm honestly not sure what she does, but when I was enrolling, she did the paperwork and stuff. You will also take outcomes, which ask you questions about how you're dealing with anxiety, depression, etc. She has access to those outcomes, so 100% feel free to ask her to take a look at them! Overall, I think the staff is awesome! Please check bags better, Embark. The bag checking is honestly a joke. There are people who deal with all kinds of things, and not saying anything would happen but please check better just in case. Goodbye, Team Embark, I'll miss you guys!

We have been on a mental health journey with our daughter for quite some time. Nothing ever seemed to click, and past PHP programs caused only more harm and trauma with no healing. Since joining the Embark program we can see glimmers of it working. I know that she feels safe here, and has confidence in her care (as do we). We attended a family night and when they say family they clearly include the caregivers and staff along with the patients and their family. I say this because the whole vibe was joy and love. I couldn't be happier (or more relieved) about our choice.

The Marietta Campus is a very safe environment. The Director Tracie and his guest service Von makes you feel comfortable. They both are caring, supportive, honest, very concerned about everyone. This program is a very good program and to be honest I can go to either one of them if I need someone to talk . They have helped me in many ways . I do not regret coming here.

My name is Natasha Hardin. I am guest services in Chattanooga Tennessee. I worked the program and graduated and God led me back to help lead other suffering addicts to freedom with our 12 step recovery program, our sober network, And help them find God. Sober Living America helped save my life and I know if it worked for me it will work for you. I have never been in a sober living, rehab or any other program that made me feel as welcomed and loved as I do here. Such an amazing program that errs on the side of Grace and understands what you are going through and will walk right beside you hand in hand loving you until you are ready to love yourself. So if you are ready to let God work in your life give Sober Living America a call and make that first step and let God do the rest.
