I checked myself into Southwest behavioral services, and started my journey of healing from the things that I could not control and the things that I could. my life was a hot mess from extreme childhood trauma .. addiction and heartbreak.. I sure as hell didn’t end the cycle and reached out for help I wanna publicly thank some people, but I don’t know how they feel about their names being out there so I wanna thank R - R- J - L - you ladies are my angels . On a random afternoon, I decided I need to get help and these women were extremely busy at their job and they stopped everything they were doing when they saw my face . Place is an absolute JOKE! instead of being helpful WHATSOEVER, "counsellors" play constant games with clients and end up making them feel like their time has been wasted... VERY AGGRAVATING!!🤬 Nicolette Sparrx 6 months ago I was in this facility 2-3 years ago for 10 days. Recently, I was just released from anther mental health ward this time in Lewiston Idaho St Joe hospital. I would like to contrast these two. Spoiler, I do NOT recommend using a private mental health clinic. ***EVER**. Do not surrender your freedom when there is a profit motive to hold you longer than needed St Joe Hospital was a fantastically better experience. One was a business seeking profit, and the other was a hospital seeking to provide care. The contrast in care was FANTASTIC. One felt like a prison and the other like a warm embrace. 1st big difference. In both facilities I witnessed severely troubled loud patients. The private facility allowed the troubled patient to roam the halls at night screaming, tearing hand sanitizers off the wall and smashing a computer. No attempt was made to protect the patients during the day. At night they locked patient doors doing nothing for those of us living with trauma. I never felt safe here making treatment impossible. St Joe had a troubled patient but they handled it. The feeling of danger was only moments when security was on it like stink on shit. I spent days in danger at Mohave In both cases I went to recover from severe mania. In Mohave, I was held for days against my will. At St Joe I asked to be released and I was free within 6 hours. I believe one is about profit and the other is about care. Mohave actually TRAPS its patients. Don't do it. Find a hospital with a mental health ward. I's profit versus care. For the record, I suffer from PTSD (100% disability VA) and severe bipolar. Loud noises trigger. And boy do they trigger Everyone was in fear at Mohave, and nearly everyone mentioned it. It seemed thick in the air. One more note, during intake at Mohave after I had finished telling of some trauma the nurse (if she can be called that) sarcastically said "yea, you've been ruined". At St Joe the intake was done by a man that told me he actually teared while telling doc my story, Avoid this place at all costs! Tom Blocker 6 months ago

Now that's out of the way I just wanted to express my heartfelt gratitude and just adoration and affection for those individuals who have worked with me and aided me through this journey and I am sad as I no longer am in services as I will not go to anyone else I made that clear upon first working with them after everything else and everyone else they are and were the only place/group I would ever work with again so it does pain me given the circumstances. They became such a invaluable part of my life of course my silly mind seen the services provided as for life , they aided me to where I became expectant and I apologize for that. I miss the opportunity of being able to have such valuable consul I accomplished so much outstanding feats truly I don't think I would have nay I know I would never have accomplished so much if it were not for their support, sad to say I got complacent and forgot things I think we all did. The amount of individualized trauma work available, including neurofeedback, ART, and EMDR made a tremendous difference for me personally and played a huge role in my experience and growth while I was there. As far as the facility itself, the food really isn’t bad, the rooms are adequate, and the charge nurses are absolutely fantastic. One area that could use some improvement is consistency in communication, as some of the information provided during the initial intake and in the welcome packet differed from the rules and expectations once I arrived at the facility. But the thing that stood out to me the most was the Unbroken program. Unbroken is specifically designed for active-duty military members, veterans, and first responders. We meet once a week for our own therapy group, and I genuinely cannot say enough good things about it. There is something incredibly valuable about being in a room with people who can truly relate to many of the experiences, challenges, and trauma being discussed. It can sometimes be difficult to explain certain experiences to someone who hasn’t lived through that environment. In Unbroken, there is a level of understanding among the group that makes it easier to open up, communicate honestly, and work through things together. The program also gives us opportunities to participate in equine therapy and a challenge ropes course as a group. Those experiences help build trust, camaraderie, and connections between members outside of the traditional therapy setting. The Unbroken program is even working toward having its own dedicated building, which I think speaks volumes about how much potential this program has. Lastly, I have to recognize the head of the Unbroken program, Bill Reynolds. Bill is absolutely phenomenal. He genuinely cares about every person who comes through the program and goes above and beyond to provide the best support and care he possibly can. As a 30-year Navy veteran himself, he brings a level of understanding and relatability to military experiences and trauma that is incredibly valuable. If you are active-duty military, a veteran, a first responder, or know someone who is struggling and could benefit from a program like this, please spread the word about Unbroken. It was good while I was up in the isolated 1st step but eventually graduated down to the old motel in downtown wickenburg. I ended up sneaking out to circle K to buy alcohol and told any staff I didn’t like off. I was immediately kicked out and never given any information about follow up treatments. I’m in my 40’s now and still struggle with anorexia/bulimia but can manage it better and actually eat without having to vomit it all up. Consider the fact I was in multiple abusive inpatients that took attorneys to get out. Here we get to go outside and the doors are not locked. It doesn't feel like a hospital, just a big house. I have been able to process the trauma from this place & when I was re-united with my family after a year of treatment centers I finally healed. There are some bhc's that are amazing, while others are awful. Tina the therapist & the psychotherapist & the relaxation room therapist & tai chi instructor are amazing, kind people. Inpatient facilities are usually cold locked hospital floors. I loved sitting outside every morning, and I even got to swim with an NG tube. While I didnt make friends here I still had my happy moments along with my bad moments. also thank you to the kind nurses, they truely make a difference. I attended summer of 2023. Crystal Ramirez 2 years ago well I was here and then later five years later Cerritos college hospital Claudia Black treatment center again for two months and it was only a one month program I did it twice in a row because I knew that I needed it. It helped me a great deal however I did not take their advice and run from my family as fast as I can as soon as I got back and never look back. If I had followed their advice I would've had a 10 times better life with less trauma and abuse from my own family. I love their treatment center you get what you put in and you need to be paying attention and learning it's not party time there. The drama therapy I believe is stupid and self inflicted trauma I don't believe reliving trauma is good for anybody but the rest of the program and learning about the roles that you play in your family and how that shaped you into the person you are now and what you can do to have a better life it's all smart, good stuff and worth learning. love to claudia black.
