Sobermans truly saved my life! I had been to 2 places before & unfortunately neither one helped in the long run. I was literally on the verge of destroying my entire life with an opioid addiction & don’t even remember the days before detox or the first few days in detox, it was that bad. So while I was in detox, I was on the verge of hopelessness sitting in regret & overwhelmed by past trauma when someone came to me and said, your only option at this point is Soberman’s. I had never heard of them before, but at this point I’m willing to try anything so, let’s get it going as soon as I leave detox. All I can say is this place is magical! From the first night until the last I felt like I was exactly where I was supposed to be. For the first time in my life everything made sense & I felt safe because of Soberman’s way of doing things. The labyrinth has an energy like I’ve never felt before, it’s like everyone who had been there before left a little part of themselves to help those to come. The staff all have stories of their own & are some of the most beautiful human beings I’ve had the pleasure to be around. The Alumni are great & very supportive! I was fortunate enough while I was there to do 2 Alumni dinners, so I was able to meet a lot of them during the dinner. I’ve also had the pleasure of going to one dinner since I’ve been out which was fun. The Alumni are very supportive & always available, which is something I’ve never had before. A group you can always call on & they also have a weekly zoom call to check in too. Sobermans helped guide me to my recipe for success & I will forever be grateful! I’ve been Sober for 8 months now & have no desire to use, but if I do I now have the skills to deal with it in a healthy way. Thank You to everyone at Sobermans! We had three years of struggles with our daughter--in and out of inpatient BH hospitals, many psychiatrists, many therapists, etc. and we felt like we were never getting to a healthy baseline, all the while our daughter was struggling. Residential treatment felt like a last resort, but it saved our daughter. The staff is all incredible-professional, kind and thorough, and the kiddos all speak fondly of them even after leaving residential treatment. The staff helped us get to a correct diagnosis, the right medications, and work on the skills to help our daughter maintain stability when she returned home. We stayed in Nexus programming through PHP, IOP and are now paying out of pocket for our daughter to stick with her individual therapist there--that's how GREAT they are. Truly, if you are a parent struggling with the idea of sending your kiddo to residential treatment, from one parent to another--this place is the best thing to happen to our teenage daughter. Meghan McCabe 1 month ago It was with a heavy heart and ultimate mom guilt, that I made the tough decision to place my daughter in residential treatment June of 2026. My daughter was experiencing self-harm and suicidal thoughts that escalated quickly into a plan. I no longer felt that she was responding to therapy and I could not keep her safe in our home. Instead of forcing her into a center that had a very institutionalized feel, I engaged my daughter in the search for a facility and gave her some autonomy into her own care. She stumbled upon Nexus Teen Academy via Google and was instantly put at ease with the location, vibe of the house and the amenities provided. I was impressed with the various modalities of therapy in her treatment program. Not living anywhere near Arizona (18 hours away), I started down the path of engaging with the staff on what would care look like with me at a severe distance from my kid. The staff held my hand through all the numerous calls, emails and texts while I gathered all the information to make the best possible decision on care for my daughter. My kiddo entered their facility on 7/2026 for a 30-day program. While at times it was rocky as she was facing her own discomfort and accepting treatment, the staff was constantly on hand to guide her and myself through it, whether it be via my own emails and calls or during our family therapy sessions. We reached a tremendous breakthrough two weeks in when she learned how to use her voice, advocate for herself and leaned into her therapy. I would have preferred continuing another 30 days at Nexus, but insurance…blah blah blah 😊 She is closer to home now and finishing her care at a center nearby. I do know that without the first 30 days at Nexus, we would not be here, in a better place and she would not be engaging in her full treatment plan. The staff are genuinely great people - they’re funny, relatable, kind, they care, and they’re just real. The therapists are all very different from one another which helps make the entire experience really feel like it’s for me. They all have different personalities and communication styles, but the exact same high level of knowledge, experience, and professionalism. I’ve met a lot of truly incredible human beings who were also patients who I see are also in what looks like lasting and meaningful recovery (this is coming from someone who’s been to countless treatment centers and has seen people fall off as soon as they leave.) I spent about 100 days with Scottsdale Providence and was dealing with a lot of legal issues, FMLA and disability needs. Knowledgeable, qualified staff with continuous training helped me every step of the way. I was educated in mental health and my addiction and provided every tool necessary to continue a fulfilling, sober life. The connections Scottsdale Providence provides to ensure every part of the client is served was amazing. She is the ultimate mother hen, tediously and tirelessly devoted to overall well-being of all who enter the home. Patsy is the resident chef and an absolute angel of a person. Not only did she provide the residents with the best meal plan, catering to the needs of everyone, she professionally and excellently prepared and configured every meal. She wasn't just the chef, she was the glue to bring everyone together. Having her around during the day offered a safe space to communicate, to show care, and bring love, light, and kindness to the home. She will give it to you straight with a smile and then drag your ass to the gym when you’re ready. The nurses, Layla and Vicki, were so wonderful. Responsible for keeping our meds, appointments, and care daily. They meticulously took notes and monitored our mental and physical well-being. Devoted and willing to do anything needed with a smile. He was genuine, hilarious, thoughtful, and kind. Easy to talk to and helpful in any way. Nate was a gentle, observant, and spiritual soul. Relatable, considerate, and an advocate to all. He showed up with a willingness to work and help others, always. Brian, a man of true integrity, wisdom, and heart. Often he would engage with every individual and provide honesty, guidance, and actionable advice. Your day really depends on the staff working that day. Andrew and Tyler were the only good nurses in my experience. Staff gets on you all the time telling you to separate but all day your pretty much alone in the day room with other patients. Techs check in once in awhile but it helped to be able to bond with other patients. The overall space was cleaner then other hospitals. Some techs are really helpful and will sit with you and talk while they work. Nurses do get on you about eating though, I wouldn't eat and they tried to get me on ensures all the time. The Asian doctor is horrible and doesn't listen, told me at one point I was self harming for attention. They didn't give me my clothes for almost a week when I was admitted because I kept scratching myself and had me in the same scrubs for the entire time. Some Russian nurse kept saying self harm was a trend and we were doing it to be cool which was not appropriate. Staff doesn't care when your having serious problems and will just give you meds to knock you out. The cafeteria food they serve is some of the best , and you can get seconds . The doctors are ok , I will say I really didn’t receive any help to get into another program from there , but everyone is different. Regardless I do recommend this place .
