I’ve never written a review like this before, but Belinda at Regional Health absolutely deserves it. She is, without exaggeration, the sweetest and most genuinely caring person I have ever dealt with at any establishment. I’ve never even met her in person, yet she has treated me with more kindness, consistency, and dedication than most people you meet face-to-face.
Belinda goes above and beyond in every way. She helped me find an amazing doctor, made sure my medications were taken care of, and anytime she said she would do something, I knew for a fact it would get done. No doubts. No chasing. No stress.
There were days she even made late calls just to make sure everything was handled for me, then followed up to confirm things went smoothly.
It’s rare to find someone in healthcare who brings this level of compassion and follow-through. She has made my life a million times easier, and I’m genuinely grateful for her. If every healthcare system had a “Belinda,” the world would be a much better place.

This place turned my life around although some people were there using it as a shelter what they were doing was none of my business at that time because the focus was on me. Everything from the food, meetings, nurses, and even social activities were nice they really helped me stay clean for over 10 years now ❤️❤️❤️

Some questions I have if anyone is kind enough to please answer them for me:
1. Can she bring in a vape pen? (Tobacco)
2. How do phone calls go?
3. How does visiting go? If I don’t have an ID, can I be denied entry?
4. Any helpful advice you have for me to help her adjust when she gets back home?
5. Any tips/ insider info you could give me to tell her to help her stay be more comfortable?!
6. What’s one thing you wish you brought to treatment but forgot? Anything you suggest to bring??

I went to gateway rehabilitation and the food was good. But the best part of my experience was my counselor. Virginia Garcia was absolutely fabulous. She went above and beyond her duty for me. She made me feel at ease and answered all my questions. She is lovely and kind. Ty Virginia.
I’m in Cindy Fishers IOP and it is by far the best IOP that I have been in. It has helped me so much! I find myself using everything I learn in her class. She is a great counselor and a great example!
Just had the right hip replaced and all involved in my recovery were excellent. From Dr. Dan Schmitt, MD to the nurses on the 8th floor.

To all veterans, I highly recommend this VA hospital. I had major surgery here and everyone is top notch.

Such a transformative experience! Naturally, the reviews you read for addiction treatment centers are going to skew negative but don't let that deter you if you believe you need help. Not only did I have an amazing experience with staff, I've built a strong foundation of community among my peers who were also seeking treatment. While encouraged by their use of an evidenced-based model, the incorporation of the 12-steps had me skeptical at first but now I'm fully committed. If you feel the 12 steps aren't for you, they also provide information about alternatives such as SMART Recovery and Recovery Dharma. My one complaint would be that I had chosen to participate in the in-person IOP during intake, but was somehow placed into the virtual IOP. Once it was recognized it was a quick fix and it didn't impact my start date or anything like that.

It’s incredibly difficult to capture in a few sentences the positive changes I have experienced in my life due to my time at Positive Sobriety Institute. The saying “you get what you put in” is a very apt one. PSI helped me set a foundation that has changed my life in a way that merely must be witnesses. There’s a reason I only have Just For Today. PSI gave me the toolkit needed to get over the one year hump of being clean from alcohol, drugs, and other terrible things. I am forever in their debt. I only have JFT, may you find this place as well, do the footwork, so that “no addict ever need die from the horrors of addiction”. Thy will be done. cheers.

Entered with a high level of apprehension, low expectations and uncertainty. My experience here exceeded my expectations. The group of individuals and the process help build a very stable foundation for me. The psi leadership group st all levels weee outstanding. While the results are yet to unfold I left a better person and a solid vision of the future my group associates many have continued the connection through our journey.

Been going to Family Guidance for awhile now and I absolutely recommend this methadone clinic to anyone struggling with opiate addiction. The staff are mostly friendly and it's easy to get into the clinic within a day or two. Once you get to the correct methadone dose the dope sickness is mostly gone and then you can slowly get back to a normal life. I've had a few counselors since going here and all were nice and professional but my current one Gary is Awesome. He seems to really care and is always helpful. I would most likely be dead if I didn't sign up at Family Guidance. If you're looking for a way to stop using dope give this clinic a try.

I, like all, was at ICFR at the worst time of my life. I had several doctor appts that I needed to make when I went in. The travel was accommodated for me to be able to be taken to so I didn't miss them and that was one of my biggest concerns. When I had a major issue, Nick Gore (regional VP)was ON IT quickly to guide me thru it. The program was a vital step in saving my life and here I am almost 2 yrs sober now. Thankful for this facility!
I just completed the 28 day program and the staff and everyone there were great people and the food was also very good they are going through allot of remodeling and things we're a little hectic which is understandable but other than that it was a life changing experience

I was in Suncloud’s Residential, PHP, and IOP program for 5 months and it changed the course of my life. When I went in I was suffering from anxiety, depression, severe substance abuse, grief, and trauma. Today I am 5 months sober from alcohol, weed, marijuana, and nicotine, I’m enrolled in school, go to the gym, and am working towards my career. It was the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life but I’m thankful I put in the work and showed up everyday. The staff here are some of the most compassionate, hardworking, and dedicated people and I’m so thankful to them for helping me navigate the good, the bad, and the CONFUSING parts of recovery. I’m proud of the work we were able to accomplish here and will forever cherish the lessons learned and relationships made here.

If you are a parent reading this, I know how hard it can be when your child struggles with anxiety or depression or any mental health issues. The outpatient trauma & PTSD program has been a lifesaver for me. The entire team led by Dr. Natalie Gela is incredibly skilled, compassionate, and deeply committed to the healing process. They create an environment where it’s possible to be vulnerable, make progress, and feel genuinely cared for.

Composes, incredible! Our son was really having a hard time with school refusal and kept wiping out in classes because he’s on the spectrum. When things got really bad this year we pulled him out and sent him to compass where he learned a lot of skills to calm down. He learned to cognitive behavioral therapy and a couple of different techniques similar to that which he now carries around in a binder. We were also able to use compass to transition to another school, and the team was just incredible. They went above and beyond… Not just helping him learn the skills but frankly, they were very genuinely fond of him. He’s going to miss them a lot, and this is his first week out of the program… He keeps talking about how proud of him they were when he graduated! I cannot recommend them enough.

I decided to confront my Alcoholic urges even though I quit in 1983 , a van came to Sparc , a shelter I was in , I dared to get in Above And Beyond Van , was counseled and applied my self into my classes . I have no regrets 😁 . I am free and I am unbelievably Happy. There are some in worse shape hooked on things unbelievable, Come to Above And Beyond and be Free from your MASTER, your HABITS .I got a birth certificate ,state id , social security card, drivers license,I am not in Sparcs ,I am in my own apartment with free furniture . Im on day 5 of a jury trial. I've been a patient for 4 years. I went from 16mg down to 1mg. I haven't touched an opiate since Dec of 2021.
Today, God forbid, I come in on a schefuled appointment, a day early, on a month prescription. Why? Because I happened to run out 24 hours early due to difficulties weening off subs. Something that a doctor would likely expect and appreciate.
Alexis, Im sorry I didn't just hold out til Friday. I didn't want to be in full blown withdrawals during a pivotal moment in my career. Shame on me.
Next month, instead of giving you full disclosure i'll tell you a fairytale. That must be so much more productive. Do you think I disclose the truth because I'm an idiot? No, it's because I actually trust professionals. You breached it.
I don't want special treatment. However, if you're going to play a petty game, have the guts to say it to my face.
I can't come tomorrow morning and show you my half strip. That doesn't mean I'm selling the sub strips or some other ridiculous concern. I have children who need to get to school and/or a babysitter and then I need to be in court for a trial.

I continue to trust Symetria staff with my life and have not been disappointed. I did not show up for a few days because I was sick….the staff there called me every day until I answered, and they got me to come back in for my treatment and back on track. It is rare to find people who truly care about you as an individual, Symetria is one of the rare companies with people who care.

If they took my insurance which covers everything, it would def be a better experience. However the choice between using and taking my medicine is clear to me and worth the money in the end. However it is a program that you have to work for yourself. No one can do it for you.

Let me just say I was a patient at Medmark for years and above everything no matter what because they open at 4:45 AM says it all. They generally want to meet everyday people’s needs to live a normal life.In and out the door before 5am to do what you need to do w your life. Try and find another clinic that does that for you. You won’t. Working men and women this your clinic. Just no weed. Sorry.

I do not typically do these reviews however I felt very strongly I needed to. I have been in the program for over 7 years. The program honestly saved my life after trying several other things. My addiction became like most had back problems and my doctors were very free to prescribe the opioids and benzodiazepines. Xanax was actually the worst for me hospitalized for over 10 days due to all the seizures. Anyways the nurses Yolanda Jackie Val are sweethearts and have never judged me once. Yolanda is the one person who always tells me she is proud of me I don’t even hear that from family. Kim who runs front desk is also great. In my experience I have had around 6 counselors and sorry to say this is the downfall here. I don’t know if they are overworked micromanaged or just don’t care but I have had to go elsewhere for my counseling. I have promise for my new counselor April who is new to this location. Since starting she has been on top on my case not letting anything slide. She gets accomplished what the 5 others took months to do and I appreciate that. Non judgmental follow-up and just caring she accomplishes where most can’t and this is what keeps me clean and alive and I thank her for that more than I can say. Doctor is a different story for a different day I will just say to the women ask that a third person be in the room. That’s all!
I went here about 6 years ago. I don't know if the Staffing is the same at this time as I haven't been in touch with them since then. In November I'll be 6 years clean. I'm in a place I never thought I'd be. I find myself having all the things I struggled to attain in the past. If I never attended here who knows where I'd be. Thank you Heartland.

Best hospital! I went in with pain in my lower right abdomen, and it turned out I needed my appendix removed. I got there around 1:30 and was already home by 9. Everyone was so kind, and the doctor who did my surgery was amazing!

After completing inpatient rehabilitation, I transitioned into the Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) at Parkdale Center and I can say with my whole heart that it was one of the most life-changing and soul-healing experiences I’ve ever had. Parkdale didn’t just help me continue my recovery, they helped me to continue to find myself again. They believed in me, held space for my pain, and gave me the tools and encouragement to continue to rise stronger than I ever thought possible.
From the leadership to the support staff, everyone at Parkdale exudes compassion, professionalism, and a deep commitment to healing. But what makes Parkdale truly exceptional are people like Rigo and Claudia. They treated me not like a number or a case, but like family. There was zero judgment, only humility, kindness, and an unwavering belief in my potential. Rigo felt like a steady big brother, firm when needed, but always full of heart. Having used their facilities for our Union members and for a family member, the counselors are caring, responsive, and communicate very well on a treatment plan and objectives & goals. Ms Tori awesome!!!!! The group meetings and accountability for each other in treatment works in a great atmosphere. I would strongly recommend this facility if a friend, co-worker, and family members are in need of help with addictions and/or mental health. It is located in chesterton nearby for visitation purposes.

I've been here twice... Certainly the best 28 day program in the area. Two amazing counselors who educate residence on addiction and push and motivate them to be better. I am grateful to this place however ashamed that I relapsed again after two stays here. They certainly did there best... And do not take into account the bad reviews. If you've been to several programs and treatment centers around Chicago then you know HAS is one of the better ones.
HAS, Keep up the good work and thank Hose for giving me so many chances, you guys help those who want it. I hope I can visit on better terms someday!

I was there and now im 3 years clean. Good place to go if your serious and ready to find a new way to live. I'm forever thankful to all the counselors and the cooks who took there time on showing love and helping me get out of that hell I was in.. I came here 3 times. I was using for 15 years. Now I have a gf, a house, a dog. A family. A brand new car. Harley. Investments and a stable life. I owe it to coming here. They call this place the ground zero of treatment centers. They don’t pamper you. They keep it real. If you want sobriety and chance, they got it.
