I wouldn't be the strong minded person that i am today if it wasn’t for all of their support, help, and guidance. I wanna take this time to show my up most appreciation for each staff member there, because each of them impacted me greatly. Rachael always took time out of her day to make sure i had everything i needed, made sure i understood what was being taught to me in MRT and IOT, and she ALWAYS had the best classes. She made her classes fun and she explained things in a way that i could understand. She gave me support in every aspect of my life. I know that if i had something going on i could take it to her and she wouldnt go and tell someone else my business, and she would give me the best suggestions possible. Tacara was amazing as well, she had my back in the program from the jump. She always gave me straight up honest answers, and she always helped me in the spiritual side of my recovery. We talked about God alot and i just really appreciated having a sister in christ there to talk about God with everyday. Austin was my dude forreal. Ive liked Austin since i met him at the Whitney house when he was the recovery works grant guy. For some reason i was always drawn to Austin, he always gave me straight answers, never sugar coated anything, and didnt judge me for who i am. Not to mention hes funny as heck! I remember going into his office almost everyday just to talk to him and tell him jokes. Lol i hope ur seein this G-Eazy, i appreciate you having my back, and giving me a chance in the program! Kathy was ALWAYS just the sweetest! She showed me sooo much support when it came to my relationship stuff and she helped us with anything we brought to her attention. Kathy was very nurturing, kind, and treated me like i was her son. The food amazing , the staff IMPECCABLE. Even had plans to go back and work there myself . The nurses ? Oh lord patient as EVER . And my journey is still in the beginning but without wooded glen helping me change my mind from half assing it to full going sober and even helping me find the god of my understanding and worrying about my well being even when I wouldn’t . It’s literally the best and most beautiful place to go away and escape . I can promise you I’ve met others in my sober living who mentioned going to wooded glen at one point or another in their journey and they speak on how no other facility holds a candle to it . This was my first rehab / residential stay, and I truly couldn’t have ended up in a better place. The techs, the clinical team, the nurses, the lunch lady’s, the janitors, every single person played a role, whether it was working one on one with them or just a friendly smile passing through! Also, my sober sisters, the bond that was made was amazing & im thankful to still have a lot of them in my life and a part of my recovery journey today! I would also like to add that the facility itself was absolutely beautiful and the outdoor surroundings were incredible. It truly is such a beautiful serene place! I would 10/10 recommend this facility and its program to anyone struggling with addiction. (FULL REVIEW BELOW) The breakdown: Pro's: -Renovated resort on a spacious piece of land that includes a lake patients can fish on, walking trails, a full basketball court, and large open fields for activities -Nearly all direct support staff is in recovery -Food is home-cooked style and every meal includes seconds if wanted -Nicotine products allowed (vapes too) -Guitar, piano, animal therapy (they literally have an Australian Shephard and like 10 chickens to interact with), plant and flower garden patients can contribute to, pickle ball, corn hole. -Large donation room for patients coming with no clothes -Medicaid insurance allowed -Alumni program that includes an app that helps connect all the patients post-discharge Cons (Based on opinion/personal exerience): -My biggest complaint is no PHP/sober living housing being available. The techs, nurses, therapists and case managers REALLY care! I have to give a special shout out to the techs that really took time to pour into each client individually. The food is great and if you come there with just the clothes on your back they will make sure you have everything you need and more. NA/AA meetings are brought into the facility multiple times a week and you are given the option to go to an outside meeting every week day after lunch. The nurse's peer Coaches and texts i'm like some amazing people there Troy Smith 1 year ago So let me start off by saying I was court ordered to come here & was not happy at first, they have that saying if you don’t want to truly get clean it’ll never happen, well I'm here to prove that’s not true. I didn’t want to be at rehab, but I just took it day by day. The staff is incredibly welcoming & loving and that makes all the difference when trying to get clean. After a few days of detoxing I got Medication-assisted treatment, and started feeling better each day. This is a small rehab so you really get to know the other clients and leave with long term friends and get to know the staff as well - like your therapist for example, so you actually feel comfortable opening up and not just sharing because you have to. I also loved the AA/Na speakers they have come in - I was really able to connect with each speakers stories and they give you hope that if they can stay clean for that long through everything so can we! I also loved the fact they took us to outside AA meetings everyday so we get a chance to just get out and interact with new people.
