Methadone maintanence saved my life! It was my 7th time going to a rehab facility. Soboxone never worked for me and I was terrified of the detox process. Methadone doesn't stop you from having withdrawal symptoms when you first start MAT. But it makes the transition so much easier and keeps you maintained it also controls the cravings. It's not a super fancy top notch place but it's a good program and Western KY Medical executes it well. They probably saved my life. Just be up front and honest about everything and let them make it work. It is the attitude of the staff and the level of comfort I feel when I go there that has made it so easy to continue going and stay on this path. In fact, I enjoy it so much that I continue to go weekly instead of going down to less appointments each month. I have been to other treatment places and they just wrote you a prescription and sent you on your way after paying anywhere from $250 to $400, because other places usually don't take medical insurance but this place and the people here CARE! They do drug screens, they have help with everyday stuff like resources to places to help u get a home, with the RSS staff! And they require you to do counseling because the medication won't work if your not doing other things in your recovery process! So getting that person help can be quite the challenge. Not to mention the after effects of if/when you are able to get that going. Burt and Tametha were right on time with helping my family. From the information provided, setting up an appointment, and the careful attention to detail as we navigated needing psychiatric care for my step-dad. PCP and Neurology focused on his physical health, but overlooked his mental health playing a factor in his declines. We were able to get a diagnosis, medications to help find balance, and a plan of action to help with behavioral expresssions. The patience and understanding that they continue to show both he and my mother is much appreciated. The journey of someone dealing with a cognitive decline effects everyone involved.
