I have been to Edgefield 3 times and I will not go anywhere else for treatment for substance use disorder. The staff is caring and compassionate, attentive to the needs of the clients, and puts the client first. There was a new administrator this time I went, Mr. Bobby Rayford, who I highly commend on his hiring of the new staff. He is a delight to be around and even did my discharge plan for me. His concern for Edgefield being a top notch rehab facility really shows through. Good job on cutting back on the snacks, because many addicts in recovery struggle with weight gain. Thank you Edgefield for another beautiful stay. I will never forget the sunrises and sunsets I saw out there on the bayou. If you are looking for a rehab to meet all of your needs, look no further. This is the place.

Edgefield first caught my attention because of its location and history but upon arrival I was introduced to the compassionate staff that made me feel at home. The repuposed plantation house is such a charm with beautiful chandeliers, fireplaces, and paintings to gaze at between classes, meals, or in the afternoon. The staff was so caring and involved in my recovery process. They genuinely are concerned for the patients and it shines through all of the employees, from the physicians, techs, and lunch room employees. Being set on a quiet bayou with lots of wildlife to observe and appreciate. I recommend a volleyball game during your stay. The food was amazing and filling, so if you are on a diet I suggest passing on the 2 peanut butter and jelly sandwiches they offer as snack. Thank you for helping me so that I could help others.

Absolutely beautiful grounds and the most supportive, caring, and loving staff. From the moment I walked in at Intake I immediately felt welcomed. Was greeted by staff that also had personaly experienced the recovery journey. Having that in common made it easier for me to be able to start forgiving myself and focusing on my sobriety. The techs were able to guide me , answering all my questions and calming my anxiety. There was plenty of other clients to talk to. We enjoyed fishing, volley ball and basketball. Staff even played with us. My counselor was able to listen, be empathetic but also hold me accountable. Which I needed more than I knew at the time. The atmosphere was relaxing and perfect for my self healing. I can't thank Edgefield Recovery Center enough for giving me the opportunity to get my life back. One I am proud of. I would strongly recommend Edgefield to anyone ready to start their journey. We had nightly AA meetings, small groups, one on one counseling, mediation, yoga, gratitude, family meal's. (BTWThe food is Great!!)Edgefield Recovery Center saved me. The discharge planner was even able and willing to work with me to find me a sober living home in my preferred area to where I was able to get a job, have transportation and begin on a healthy path!! Been a patient for quite a while and have had many counselors,,, I would just like to say how Mrs. Selena has been by far the best one I've had. I have built a great relationship with her. I never feel like she judgeing me on who I was in the past and sitting in her office is like meeting with a friend and I think that's gotta be the way all patients can ask for in a counselor. She has went out of her way several times to make sure I was accommodated to what I needed and for that I am so grateful... I know without a doubt this woman is part of the success ive had in mmt &my personal life..For a long time I had the impression counselors were just out to make our day harder than it already is and were judging us because of our addiction but Ms Selena has me looking at counselors different. So again thank you Ms Selena,,, I wish I could do more to show you how much you've impacted me ,,,I owe her big time,

Been going here 8 years even before it was baarts but since it's changed company its been even better i had some doubts lately and so I had a site down with my councilor and she cleared up all my doubts she does care they all do it's not their fault this happened I apologize for being so upset im staying at my home clinic the medicine just is better I gueessed dosed atba sister clinic last week and i think the red liquid they have the dye in it does something to me and effects me bad so I'm staying home where I started my treatment this place saved my life and I need to say that just when you think they don't care they do sometimes being human is making mistakes and getting upset but this place is good they care about not just the recovery but they care about the person's wellbeing and how they are doing. The Dr. Is real understanding down to earth but doesnt play which he shouldnt i like that he is serious but makes you comfortable, he makes me feel like not only have I came so fare from when we first started my treament but as a adult and human One of the best Dr I've ever had and there only been a couple to a few good ones so thank you Dr. Also the director Ms. Melissa is amazing and also so understanding and carew about us all. I don't know the other councilors but I'm sure they care mine does I know that now and the Head nurse Great at her job and so kind! So are the dosing nurses so kind and very nice . As is thr check-in receptionist there is 2 but they are bow awesome . Thank you everyone from Baarts in Alexandria Louisiana for all you do for not just me but everyone else.

N also that talked to me after we was done nI can tell u anyone who is looking n really wants to get clean should go here the counselor over Theo. P. Meetings is wonderful she cares and don't even attempt to judge u.. She gives me hope and shows she really wants to help me with my addiction no matter what... If only I could've met her sooner..i know now for sure I will be sober and she gives me hopes for me n my sons future She's awesome n ur addiction or past dnt matter she does not care u can see in her eyes she cares n even have to know you at all gives u hope

Well, there is always room for improvement. Regardless of what a place may specialize in. I was a patient there. Most people dont understand what the staff is up against daily. In my opinion, they do what is best for the patient. Although there are patients who require alternative measures. The patients mental, and physical well being is always their main concern.

Bunkie General helped my family when we had a Christmas day ankle sprain emergency. The staff were helpful, prompt and thorough. The hospital also provides an excellent Heart Health Center where I can use the gym which has excellent fitness equipment, cardio machines and weights. The hours are very flexible and there are many patients including some of my friends and family who are members and work through their doctor and physical therapist after surgery for heart and health rehab. These services are essential and well managed. I highly recommend Johnathon the fitness trainer at the Hospital, he has quickly helped me achieve some of my personal health goals.

This was the first rehab I had ever went to. This was in 2015 or 16 well they were located I think in Lafayette and when I got signed in to stay they were moving like the 3rd day that I was there to sunset location . It was cool to see . The old one looked like a house it was cool . I had came in and almost passed out and the nurses and staff made sure I was ok and saw a doctor and that mentally I was okay . I may not have been at my best but the staff and everyone here was so beyond kind and cared about everyone's sobriety and it was individualized and personal . It was pricey back then I'm not sure about now . I had ended leaving but I never forgot and alot of people will say it's about how people treat you that people remember. It helped me in the sobriety process . They were still kind and wanted me to stay so much but I needed something else . Well because I had went for the time length I stayed I got an AA book and I kept it all these years and today it still helps and has helped heal me. If it wasn't for that place I wouldn't know the AA way.

My grandson is there and I was scared at first I didn't even know what the property looks like or anything but it's pretty much way out in the boondocks seen plenty of corn fields and it's located down a long gravel road I was like oh my God there's not even blacktop roads but we got there and it's like a couple separate buildings and my grandson was so happy he didn't act like he wanted to go home or juvie LOL the staff was very nice it's way more than I expected I had told my grandson that I would like to try to maybe donate some stuff for them to do you know games and stuff like that but he said no mamaw we have plenty of stuff to do I get to choose my chores and I chose to cut grass what she likes because his papa never lets him we're about an hour and a half for longer away from there but it's really nice as we were there they was cooking them po'boys french fries and I'm trying to think something else but he said he's eating very good there and you know they pretty much mentor them and cancel them and they don't see race the one man that works the board is you know the one that told me that and he was so kind to us he seemed like he really cared about my grandson

After reading the reviews, we were terrified to leave our family member at Compass in Opelusas. However, we were pleasantly surprised. The social worker, Claire, was very helpful, keeping us updated with medication changes and progress reports. She was kind and never made us feel like an inconvenience when we called. Pam was patient and willing to listen to our concerns. Clara was such a sweet aide, taking extra time with her during her shift to ensure she didn't feel lonely. The psychiatrists were both very attentive to behavior changes and quick to make changes to medication when needed. She was in this facility for 11 days and we are happy to say we would recommend it to others!
