This clinic is NOT like the others. They are fast, friendly and more helpful and accommodating than other clinics. A few things could be tweaked a little bit, but most can be addressed with your counselor if needed. Office Staff, Security, and the Medical Staff are TOP NOTCH! At this clinic there is NO REASON NOT TO GET HELP!!

I've been to a few methadone clinics due to moving. And this one is by far the best one yet. They are fair and they are consistent. They don't let you get away with more or less than anyplace else, they are just easier to get take homes and to work with.

I came here for the first time for an appointment to see the doctor for more meds. This place is nice and big. Inside this place on the second floor they have offices for different businesses. The floors are clean the staff are nice and friendly. The rooms here are big. The parking lot has plenty of parking and it is big with handicap parking and handicap accessible entrance. They have multiple businesses on site here as well. It is in a safe neighborhood.

Due to insurance changes I have been seen by a few different clinicians. All have been professional, courteous, and empathetic. Reception isn't the greatest, however they're not the ones providing treatment so it can be overlooked.

I have had great experiences with outpatient therapy at CHD's Holyoke and Springfield adult outpatient therapy locations. They are always flexible with my copayment if I forget that they only accept cash or check (one of the few downsides), and my therapist has a very accommodating schedule. It was much faster and easier to get an initial appointment and complete the intake process than any other agency/therapist I have been to; I don't remember exactly, but I believe they either picked up when I called for an initial appointment or actually called me back, which is relatively rare. My therapist is also the only one out of 6 or 7 different therapists I have seen who actually takes initiative with my treatment plan, pushes me, and tries to get to the root of the problems rather than falling back on talk therapy every session. When my therapist and I miscommunicated about an appointment time for one session and she was accidentally double booked, she still saw me for 10 minutes to check in and did not charge me my copay. All the staff I have come into contact with have been professional, accommodating, and respectful of client needs. Definitely recommend!

My husband has Alzheimer’s and had a crisis that required hospitalization. Our local hospital transferred him to Valley Springs Hospital. It was the best place for him to regain his baseline. I have to tell you how impressed I was with the Silver Unit where he was placed. The staff was positive and always kind. I visited daily so the kindness was authentic. There was a sense of safety and comfort for the patients. The staff encouraged the patients to interact with each other. What I saw develop among the patients was a sense of community. They watched out for each other. Having someone you love suffering from tth is dreadful illness is a nightmare and a lonely journey. The hospital was a safe place for my husband. This place saved my life! Everyone was so nice and understanding. I highly recommend them for detox and those interested in recovery. 5 years sober update.. I saw that I had written a review and thought it would might be helpful to give an updated recommendation. It’s been close to 5 1:2 years since I left Swift River the last time.. my life has completely changed! I’m working in the recovery field working on my counseling credentials, buying a second home! Going on a summer vacations and lost over 100lbs!! .Just a few things that would never have come if I hadn’t decided to make a change and call Swift River. Carlson was the right place at the right time for me to bring a friend of mine who had finally decided to detox and go into an aftercare program, from addiction. The place was well organized, seemed to be run well and plenty of patient supervision, from the point that my friend made it through the complete admission process, she was able to reach out to myself and her sister, and her mother, and then transition to the Hope house in Springfield. I strongly encourage anyone battling with addiction and / or dual diagnosis as well, to call Carlson for bed availability and go through the program. A lot has changed in this field over the past five years, but most notably over the past two years, and there is help and there is hope, if you know somebody who’s struggling out there, they are somebody’s daughter they are somebody’s son. They could also be somebody’s spouse and they could also be somebody’s parent as well, try to do what you can to help them as long as it’s within your cable tow. God bless.

I think the Carlson center was awesome. They medicate you so you are really comfortable. Their food is incredible and you can get seconds too which is helpful when you are starving and coming off alcohol. Every time I relapsed I went there because I knew they would give me another chance. You should go to groups but yes you can sleep if you’re tired. I remember the first time I went there. I was in serious alcohol withdrawal. I had the best sleep after being medicated. Their staff is great too. They saved my life. They wake you up for vitals early but you may need medication. They have punch in the tv room which I drank like no tomorrow. Snacks too. I’ve been there like 7 times and they always treat me great. I wish I could say my name but can’t. You will always get a second chance there

I was very happy to have learned of this establishment. Many insurances are accepted like Medicaid and Medicare, although certain counselors accept certain insurances. The scheduling coordinators are very friendly and work with you to receive the help you need. It is also worth noting that services are offered for kids and even toddlers, with referalls offered as well.

I would absolutely recommend Compass/ Feeding Hills to anyone wishing to quickly attack the problem at hand. IOP(Eleven weeks of 3x a week centered on group therapy )is not fun but necessary- the patient needs to want to work. 12 step attendance is encouraged but not pushed like a suppository- the counselors Joe and Mike do a great job presenting as educators, not dictator-pontificators. There are no saunas or massages to be had- this is a meat and potatoes place to do what needs to be done.

Compass provided me with the exact structure and connection I needed after sliding into regular substance abuse. The clinicians are supportive, non-judgmental, and help you stay on track with goal-setting. The team fosters a safe environment where you can be you and feel “a part of.” The community feels like a forever family that you can always fall back on, no matter how many times you fall or how you find your path of recovery. Cleanslate is magnificent!! They don't judge you and they make you feel welcomed as a person and not make you feel you anything less. The whole team is awesome and I would recommend them to anyone that has any problems or situations to go there because they understand and treat you as a normal person. I love them and I'm glad I chose to go there to get my sobriety going because without them and their support things would still be hard and going down for me but they lift me up and made me understand that I can do it!!
