A fantastic place! before I was in other places but it was not as beneficial as in Washburn House, the staff was like heaven sent. The program they offer is unique and effective in dealing with addiction problems. The facilities are well maintained, clean and modern. The medical team is knowledgeable, they delve into the roots of the problem to eliminate addiction forever, and the program includes AA meetings that are part of a solid foundation to achieve recovery. Here I received valuable tools to stay sober, I'm very grateful to be in this place.

My time here was overall a great experience. No rehab is perfect but Washburn House is a good place to get clean. Food could improve and they need more case managers. That being said as long as you put the work in you will do well. The staff are great and will have useful information on resources.

When I came to Paramount, I felt I couldn’t trust anyone and had no belief I could be in recovery. This program and their staff helped me get through this. By offering a safe place to work on solid therapy and to better understand myself, I was able to gain confidence in my ability to be in recovery for life! Another highlight is the fact that paramount provides a worry free environment. This allows me to truly focus on my recovery work. I have so much gratitude for everything paramount has done for me. The day I walk thru the door was the day my life changed forever. From client liaison to case manager, and therapist I really felt understood and cared for which made my recovery journey alot easier. I felt as though I was being given more than treatment. What a life changing experience! I have too many good things to say to list them all here. The buildings and the grounds are new and well maintained. The staff are all wonderful and go above and beyond for every client. I got to see first hand how hard everyone, frome the cleaning staff on up to the directors how hard they work for us and how much they care. The clinical staff are so knowledgeable and caring. I felt like everyone there was working on all my issues with such a drive and the highest level of competency. The recovery specialists do a food job of fostering a positive and safe group culture. I was especially impressed with Katie, who's commitment to the clients was demonstrated daily by her caring, upbeat, positive nature and willingness to go above and beyond for every client, all day, everyday. A big thank you to Katie and to Rose, Erin, Nikki and all the others who helped me change my life so drastically for the better in such a short 28 days. There are recovery centers out there doing good work and recovery centers doing great work. This place is doing phenomenal work. They help people make lasting changes in their lives. Thank you all!

This is a wonderful detox and treatment center! They will get you sober and give you the tools and resources that you’ll need to stay sober. Kind, caring, knowledgeable people (Case Managers, Recovery Specialists, nurses, food service staff, cleaning staff), nice, clean facilities, good food! Couldn’t ask for more. The folks at NERC truly care about you and your recovery. Special shout-out to Case Managers Sara, Tara, Brittany, Grace and Diana, as well as Recovery Specialists Pam, Gretchen, Danny, Nikki, Nikyrah, Esmeralda, Lauren, and all others whom I haven’t mentioned by name. Rose is an amazing family therapist. There are a lot of great, caring folks working here who truly want to help you! They also offer free, confidential family support through their Magnolia program. I’m currently in blue hills care and have been since may. I was very resistant in the beginning but they are the first PHP program to break down my stubborn walls and help me become open minded to recovering and choosing to improve my mental health for myself. Jodi the clinical director takes time out her to talk to every single client no matter the time. All of the staff that work here have the clients best heart at interest. I relasped and blue hills took me back and I’m better than ever. I’m applying for a job and getting my life back from domestic violence and 22 years of mental illness. I came into this program as an older woman, scared and unsure of what to expect. This was my very first time in treatment, and after coming from an inpatient program where I honestly felt like I was treated more like an animal than a person, I didn’t know what I was walking into. From the first day, the staff and clients made me feel welcome and safe. I wasn’t seen as just a diagnosis here, I was seen as a human being. That meant everything to me. The groups were supportive, the staff truly cared, and I felt like my voice mattered. This program gave me hope and reminded me that healing is possible at any age. Came off 170 mgs of methadone without any major problems. I slept, ate, and was overall content. Nursing and tech staff made the stay what it should be. I’m not really a taker but sometimes a smile from a random staff would get me out of the funk. They reduced my methadone 10mg a day from 170 until 20mg. I thought I would feel awful at 20 but the only problem I had was high blood pressure and sweating. All symptoms I could deal with. It’s detox! You’re not going to like everything about it!
Atlanta, Mark, Christine, Joe, JAMIE! No techs or nurses ever made me feel like I was a bother. I would recommend this place to anyone looking to get off a substance. Especially methadone, in I feel 1000 times better without that crap in my body. I live in NJ, only one place would take my ins. The rest would only detox from methadone of a 30-40mg dose. Sunrise did not rush me and kept their word I wouldn’t receive surprise bills. They even didn’t bill me for things they should have. Shortly before I went there I was on a ventilator. I am Doing the work but this place helped get me across the line. If you complain here it’s your addiction talking. Has your addiction ever been correct with advice? Great place!

I've been at Merrick Street for nearly a year, and my experince has been truly amazing. Spectrum staff members are caring, well-educated and passionate about helping each client on an individual basis. The level of care far exceeds that of other programs. I started my 'journey' at Sisters of Providence in Holyoke, and (apart from my clinician -- who was amazing!), it felt like conveyor-belt-style care. Now, that was a 2-hour round-trip commute every morning, but Information about Spectrum (20 minutes away) was hidden from me (despite my inquiries) for months because it was a separate organization and they likely didn't want to lose me as a paycheck -- I mean patient.
Spectrum is the total opposite. It has changed my life. I wasted years fearing a program, and the stigma attached. But I realized-- since I was already dealing with the stigma of having fibromyalgia and chronic pain, it made no difference, and I needed to try -- for me. Since entering, I have met so many incredible people, shared and heard many incredible stories, and in a way, I am proud to be part of something so positive.

Have had two major surgeries at West Roxbury VA which includes all the testing, pre-op, post-op, etc. just recently had the second life saving surgery that went very professional, smooth and caring. Was well taken care of the entire time. I am very happy with the great care I was given and thank each and every one of the employees at West Roxbury VA.

I tried about 7 times 2 come off of pain meds due to numerous surgeries since 1999 I was on 30 mg oxycodone which was the strongest you could get ! I was prescribed 12 a day!finally after being sick and tired of being sick and tired after my family being disgusted with me after being sick of being broke and everything that comes along with addiction which nothing good comes with addiction! I was on that medication from 1999 up until four years ago September 3rd of this year made 4 years clean!!! You have to be ready to quit and get clean for yourself so you need to put yourself above all Else for you and your own health once you're done with that then you work on repairing your relationships with your family and the people you hurt when you were using! So the final time that I went to norcap Lodge I got clean finally the dark cloud that constantly follows me around everyday was gone my life isn't perfect but I killed the addiction and I did it @Norcap for me & my little girl!

Between all of the therapists & case managers like Bri and JP, the staff at Ocean State actually cares. In comparison, no other program even comes close. Channing House, which is a Halfway House now operated by Advocates, is probably the most successful men's substance abuse house in Worcester County and probably one of the 5 best or most successful programs in Massachusetts. It is a fully accredited 6 month substance abuse residential program. However, they let me stay for 8 1/2 months because the staff agreed with me that I wasn't ready yet. I've been to well over 25 halfway houses and at least 15 different sober houses...and Channing House is by far the best and most successful program in Worcester County.
