I went here about 2 years ago and I am so greatful I did. The staff and owners are great people who care about clients. I made life-long friends, shared in many laughs and learned a lot about myself and addiction. One of the best things about Sobriety First is that they will bring clients to AA/NA events all over the state and even some outside Minnesota! They will do this for free and pay all expenses (hotel, campsite, food, snacks, water, energy drinks, and entry fees). I have had such an AMAZING experience at Nystrom. I am in the DBT program with my main caretakers being Alyson, Paige, and Tyler. They are all amazing individuals. I genuinely got so much better. I feel like I’m able to finally take control of my life. As someone with BPD, I never thought I’d live a normal life but I’m making it! It was hard work and it was a struggle at times but they never gave up on me. I went from having episodes, having to call into work and school. Couldn’t manage friendships and relationships. I was so unstable. But now, I can hold down a schedule, I can have friend's, I can go places and not be scared I’m going to have an episodes. I still have a lot to work on to get into remission but now there’s at least a light at the end of the tunnel. When I first started, it was just a black, hopeless hole. I really want to thank these 3 for everything they have done to help me through this. I HIGHLY recommend DBT here.

I went in for an outpatient procedure and it couldn't have been a more pleasant experience. From Surgeon Dr. Duininck, Anesthesiologist Dr. McGlinch, Radiogist Dr. Kroll, SDS Nurse Paige, OR Nurse Dylan, and Ultrasound Tech Katie, I was treated with respect. Everone excelled in showing care, compassion and concern about my well-being. I have had many surgical procedures, and this was the first time that the anesthesiologist visited with me before AND after the procedure. I wouldn't hesitate to have another surgical procedure at St. Joseph's.

The provider was very helpful upon discharge getting my daughters meds figured out with my insurance.
The visiting area could really use a deep cleaning especially since it’s where the patients eat.
Concerned that they aren’t able to meet the individualized needs of each patient with the number of patients they take on in one area.
Overall a safe place.

I came here years ago when i was in desperate need of help. My father brought me here and I can't thank you all enough for helping me! The food, rooms, and just building overall is great. The schedules for homework, therapy, and socialization was great too. The staff were also super friendly and caring. It felt like a vacation that helped me escape from my problems and it genuinely helped me become better. I always think back to my time that I spent at this place and its always positive.
