I'm a chronic relapser and have been to Valley Hope several times. My relapses had nothing to do with Valley Hope and the care they provided. It just wasn't my time yet. I love Atchison Valley Hope. The staff are A+. They genuinely care about the patients while there and after their discharge. I get calls from my counselors and case workers periodically just to see how I'm doing. It's more than collecting an insurance check with them. I finally took their advice and went to php and iop, in addition to an addiction counselor. I'm 65 years old and sober for the first time in a very long time. There's no treatment center that's going to keep you sober or drug free. It takes work, but at AVH they will provide a serious reboot for your future.

Current Inpatient resident who would like to say I came with much trepidation and anxiety. All of which I was able to shed easily on account of the staff and friendly fellow residents. Not in any small part because of Kerry (think I spelled that right) in detox, because she is @$$@ ing hilarious, and made me feel a lot better. I mean, guys, it’s rehab.. ;) But this is a very good rehab. Admins listen.
EDIT: It took guys.. It really took this time. I shed the $&!t colored goggles. And the world is vivid.. bright.. and while i honestly believed I'd be dead by now... In reality I'm happier than I think I ever have been. I couldn't see it back then.

I’ve unfortunately been to 9 inpatient treatments in Iowa and Hazelden in Minnesota. Powell is easily the best one in Iowa and their programming and staff are right on par with Hazelden. Which is one of the best (maybe the best) treatment in the USA. I highly recommend Powell if you or a loved one is serious about getting sober. They know what it takes to get sober and more importantly what to do to stay sober! 5 ⭐️

I had to take alcohol classes at Urban dreams December 2024, and I can honestly say it was a very positive experience. The staff at Urban Dreams were always professionals, respectful, and supportive, which made the process much easier to go through.
Our Instructor, Kristen Steele, went above and beyond in every class. She was not only knowledgeable but also approachable, making sure that everyone felt comfortable and understood the material. Kristen shared a lot of valuable information that wasn't just about completing a requirement, but about really learning how alcohol can impact our lives and how to make better choices moving forward.
I also had a substance abuse evaluation with Felicia Chumley, and I couldn't have asked for a better experience. She is one of the kindest, most attentive people I've met in this process. Felicia made feel completely comfortable from the start, which really helped me open up and be honest about my situation. Felicia made what could have been a stressful experience into something positive and encouraging.
I would definitely recommend Urban Dreams to anyone who needs this classes or simply wants to gain more understanding about alcohol and its effects.

Mccallum place Kansas city was amazing. Although we all had rough days the staff new how to help and calm patients down. I transferred from residential where I didnt have a good experience and we werent sure how PHP would go for me, but they gave me more insight and opportunity on recovery. They offer equine, movement groups, yoga, art groups, and meal challenges in addition to weekly therapy and dietician meetings. This program saved my loved one’s life. The person in charge of my treatment was the most unprofessional human being on earth. She was rude and neglectful, you could tell she didn't care about you, and that you were just a number. If you need any type of mental health help, don't come here. You'll die before getting proper help.

my child has gone to intake and had their first therapy appointment. Payment/financial information was not discussed at intake when the therapy appointment was set. child went to therapy and was told they could not make another appointment until payment was made. ??? what kind of establishment is this to refuse an appointment for a child who has recently been diagnosed with a mental illness, and who has already had to wait over a month to get therapy? paying 15.00 every time is not an issue as long as we are aware. I currently feel as though this place only cares about payment and not the patient. I have scheduled another appointment, we will see how this goes. as of now I am not impressed with this place. unfortunately mental health centers are limited in rural areas.

I’ve unfortunately been to 9 inpatient treatments in Iowa and Hazelden in Minnesota. Powell is easily the best one in Iowa and their programming and staff are right on par with Hazelden. Which is one of the best (maybe the best) treatment in the USA. I highly recommend Powell if you or a loved one is serious about getting sober. They know what it takes to get sober and more importantly what to do to stay sober! 5 ⭐️

I’d been at Powell for a month and a half, they wanted to send me to a different place in another state and when they place never reached out to me after sending in the paperwork for it. They kicked me out because they didn’t believe that I never heard from them

KC Recovery has saved my life. I've done every kind of sober living: halfway houses and multiple oxford houses. In terms of Oxford, I've lived in both healthy and sick houses. But KC Recovery has been different, where those other forms of sober living faultered, KC Recovery has lived up to the promises Angela made to me about the place. I have a brotherhood here, Im safe from old friends and old habits and safe from myself. I like coming home, I have built in friendships here. This place has been critical to me staying sober. Anyone, literally anyone who has a bad thing to say about KC recovery has been the main part of thier own troubles here. We deal with addicts, its not certain everyone will make it and people are often asked to leave when they would rather stay. Please be wary to accept any bad reviews are true reflections of the environment here at KCR. I, and the guys in this house that work a program and are serious about recovery, who's first priority is soberity, would not give this place up for anything.
