I cannot express how truly grateful I am for Sana Lake. It was the an amazing experience and so much more than just a treatment center. I left feeling empowered to succeed, gained a plethora of new tools to improve my chances of success in recovery and not to mention made so many new connections in recovery that I have continued to stay in touch with and their love & support is vital. The staff at Sana is Top Tier 👌 My DBT processing group was with Chris Lane & i am so grateful because his approach was a game changer & has played a major role in the changes I continue to see take place day to day. Also Ryan was lead on those groups a few days and he was extremely helpful with my journey as well. I came in only able to identify Anger & Joy but through his insight and willingness to explain things I learned how to dig deeper and identify the root emotions so I can begin to process and understand my feelings. Chase, Jodi, Tina, Julie, Amanda, Lacey, Shana were my women's group leaders & they were all amazing and a crucial part of getting to the place I am today. Most of all the connections I made at Sana lake were the best and most valuable part of my time there. I made friendships that I didn't think we're possible to make at a rehab and we talk daily supporting each other and just doing life together. I would recommend Sana Lake to anyone looking for a safe place that truly cares about your recovery and life. They want you to succeed and give you the tools needed if you're willing to pick them up and use them.

This program gave me so many tools to continue my recovery and maintain my sobriety. Anthony was my counselor and I truly loved him - the time, his patience, calm aura and knowing he truly cared about me. Beth and Sam were also very amazing and always well prepared. I went somewhere before them and highly regret the waste of time and money. I believe it all happens for a reason so I am very thankful to God for him guiding me to Valley hope. All of the team here truly care - there wasn’t a day Diana at the front didn’t have a smile and cheerful spirit about her. The gentleman who handled my insurance was absolutely amazing and even the gentleman that does maintenance there was so kind hearted . I'm a chronic relapser and have been to Valley Hope several times. My relapses had nothing to do with Valley Hope and the care they provided. It just wasn't my time yet. I love Atchison Valley Hope. The staff are A+. They genuinely care about the patients while there and after their discharge. I get calls from my counselors and case workers periodically just to see how I'm doing. It's more than collecting an insurance check with them. I finally took their advice and went to php and iop, in addition to an addiction counselor. I'm 65 years old and sober for the first time in a very long time. There's no treatment center that's going to keep you sober or drug free. It takes work, but at AVH they will provide a serious reboot for your future. Alec T.

Just started treatment but I have never felt more comfortable at a place in my life treatment is tough ecspecially if ur not ready but the people here put no pressure on u there here with arms open and when ur ready there ready to listen I love it so far

This place saved my life. You get out of treatment what you are willing to put in. I did IOP and now do continuing care here. You meet people from all walks of life and it is that exact thing that helped me understand finally the psychic change necessary to avoid alcohol and grow connections with people.

I am the child of two parents who met at an AA meeting over thirty years ago. My mom and dad split when I was little because my dad was unable to defeat his demons. When I was 9 he overdosed for the final time on heroin. The last time I saw him was in prison. I’ve spent most of my twenties filling that emptiness with different substances such as alcohol, weed, painkillers, adderall, and most recently kratom. My substance abuse was destroying my relationship with my family. I’ve always reached to something hoping to numb the pain of my reality, but currently I’m reaching for a different sort of healing. I’ve been blessed to have been put into Jason’s group. I am attending meetings three days a week and still struggle in my day to day, but I have learned that it’s okay not to always feel okay. Becoming sober has been one of the hardest things I have ever done, but the positives far outweigh the negatives. My performance at work has improved, my friendships are getting better, and I am learning to love myself. My biggest motivation to get healthy is my beautiful family. They deserve a father they can be proud of and I will continue with the program until I know I can trust myself to continue on my own. Everyday presents its own challenges, but it is good knowing that there are people like Jason who care about what happens to me. He challenges the way I think and is one of the main reasons I decided to stick it out with the program. He is truly someone who practices what he preaches, and there is a part of me that doesn’t want to let him down. If you have fallen victim to addiction, I promise that if you give valley hope a chance and buy into the program that you will start to like the person you see in the mirror again. I’ve hated myself for most of my life and have attempted suicide multiple times. For the first time in a long time I feel as though i can see a light at the end of the tunnel. For so long it was only darkness. I always wore a mask in public that was hiding the pain I felt in my heart. I am thankful my wife pushed me towards this program and I really want to continue towards being able to control my life and my impulses. My children deserve to have the father that I was never afforded. I don’t trust many people, but Jason has earned my respect and is ultimately why I decided to continue. I believe with his guidance and the program that valley hope provides that I will be able to stay on the path towards a better and fulfilling life. I’m not perfect and it’s possible I will make mistakes along the road to sobriety, but I do know that I will never let substances control my life again. I truly believe that. It’s okay to ask for help sometimes. Find your reason and realize that we have but one life in this beautiful world. Don’t continue to let those precious moments be stolen by a substance. Happiness comes from within, not from a bottle. If your reading this, know that there is always time to change the path. It isn’t an easy way to travel, but I have to believe that it is worth it. I’m gonna keep working towards long term sobriety for the sake of my family but also for the sake of my soul. Thank you Valley Hope

Dr. Demark is a doctor I have seen for 14 years. He is one of the best and one of the only doctors I trust. He is available when needed. His nursing staff has changed over the years but are still very high quality. I wish he would have a full time nurse, but the KCVA does what that think is best. Dr. Demark thank you for being my Dr.

K. Johnson of the Honor Annes and her staff, particularly Amy, have always given me the best health care, ever. They never hesitate to provide me care, always.

I think this is a very great place and the staff is nice. I was in treatment there and they treated me wonderful.

Salvation Army when I went homeless after the military I didn’t know they had services for veterans like this. The KCVA helped to get into the Salvation Army. I had to stay here due to indifferences at my house. My stay was comfortable and peaceful. The other Veterans are kind. My case worker Irene was very hard on me at first lol! After I was admitted in she was kind and loved all of us. Integration was easy. Irene will help you get more % to help in your case. She is there for you. Use her and let her know how you feel. She has been working there for 15 years (KC,Kansas). What an accomplishment. There are others that work with Irene that are just as important to you. You have to do chores but they aren’t large duties. Roger will be on you. It’s good to clean your surroundings makes you feel good. Breakfast isn’t the greatest but, that will change. Yvette serves breakfast she has to have thick skin because she didn’t make the food. She has no control on what is being served. Be nice to her always and your days will go better. Lunch and Dinner are more filling. Blake is one of the cooks trying to make new desserts and new meals. There is a “suggestion box” downstairs so fill it out. They have snack later on in the night. I met Tom from Salvation Army very stand up person he is kind and cordial. They have a gym for basketball and a small workout room. The Veterans I met are my forever brothers. I will stay in touch after I leave. Thank you Salvation Army for helping me find my way.

The whole practice is my family and I each and everyone cares and knows me. They truly have helped and saved my life. Because of them I am no longer suffering and living for myself for once. I trust this practice whole heartedly and wouldn’t have it any other way! Thank you Pine Lake for being so amazing! I’m truly blessed!

Pine Lake Behavioral Health is a breath of *fresh* air. I came here at my lowest… and from the day I came in, I knew they had my back. Thorough, caring, considerate, educated and organized.
