If u truly wanna change ur life this place is it but u have to want it and be ready to do it 100% put ur all in like it’s ur last chance at life great counselor ‘s that care about you and nice staff that treat u human great place if ur serious about changing ur life u can have nicotine patches and lozenges no chew or cigarettes most people get kicked out when caught if ur thinking ur gonna just sit through some classes mute you are so wrong you are gonna read ur life story in front of everyone and dig deep because if it ain’t accurate do it again u will read aloud every day or give feed back to the individuals that are sharing their assignments basically you’re gonna have to put in the work or get called out on BS so if ur not wanting to truly change ur life and be clean and sober then don’t use a spot someone else could have to get clean and sober be greatful you actually have an opportunity to turn your life around and be that son or that Father or husband you know u can be sober and clean you owe ur self and the ones around you that much a lot of people dont get a chance or second chance. If you really want it it’s really up to you.

I went to the treatment center at Zion in Clarinda. It was the best experience. The staff was amazing. The building was clean. They made sure you were always taken care of. They helped me tremendously. I felt like a new person after 28 days. I HIGHLY recommend this facility to anyone taking the step to recovery. My personal experience was AWESOME.

In general, my parents have received great care from the doctors, nurses, staff at Mosaic over the decades. We are so grateful. Most recently, Dr Bader has been my dad's internal medicine doctor. I can't say enough great things about him. He has helped our family navigate through difficult care choices with, grace, compassion and honesty of the reality. As a daughter, it's comforting to know he is that kind of doctor. His approach is so appreciated in stressful circumstances. And to the rest of the staff we've interacted with, my sincere thank you. You all do make a difference.

My 34 year old son had a stroke out of the blue while working in St Joseph, MO. He was taken to this hospital and I was notified. He was there for two weeks and I was there with him. The team of Drs, Nurses, Techs, Aides, Admissions and even the cafeteria staff truly cared for my son. When it came to me as mom, they treated me with the kindest and upmost respect. Every single person that I encountered was so kind and understanding. They truly went above and beyond in guiding me to the best treatment for my son. He would absolutely not be where he is now without this hospital and its caring staff that work so well together as a team. I will truly be forever grateful . Also worth mentioning, the hospital is clean and sanitary.

When I arrived at Sana Lake, I was in complete denial. I didn't want to be there and was fully prepared to "prove everyone wrong." Instead, with the help of the incredible staff, I proved myself wrong. There are so many people who made a lasting impact on my recovery journey that it's impossible to thank them all enough. Tina was one of my favorite staff members. She has a wonderful way of blending learning, healing, and creativity. As an artist, I especially appreciated being able to work on arts and crafts while participating in group discussions. More importantly, she is authentic, approachable, and genuinely cares about the members she works with. The wellness team was exceptional. Jake ("Coach") inspired me to make healthier choices, including eating more leafy greens. His workouts, boxing sessions, and wellness groups were challenging but somehow always fun. Moni kept us laughing while teaching us about posture, stretching, and acu-detox. Mia's yoga classes were wonderfully grounding and provided much-needed moments of peace and reflection. The nursing staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and compassionate. Harmony, for example, always managed to make me smile while ensuring I received excellent care. The MCS staff also went above and beyond. One day I asked where an office was located, and instead of simply pointing me in the right direction, a staff member personally walked me there despite it being on the opposite side of the building. That level of care and attentiveness was common throughout my stay. Lacie, Sherrie, Sherry, and the entire MCS team were exceptional, personable, and always willing to help. Tim deserves special recognition. On my first day, when I was nervous and uncertain, he noticed the dinosaurs on my shirt and struck up a conversation because I mentioned I loved dinosaurs. That small act immediately helped me feel comfortable and welcomed. Throughout my stay, he continued making dinosaur references that always brought a smile to my face and made Sana Lake feel a little more like home. Brittney's groups were consistently engaging and educational. I learned a tremendous amount from her. The same can be said for Bre, whose groups were equally valuable whenever I had the opportunity to attend them. Amanda always seemed to come through whenever help was needed, and Jo was a thoughtful listener who made people feel heard. One person who truly stood out was Stacie from the kitchen staff. I made a meaningful connection with her, and she frequently shared words of wisdom from across the lunch line that often arrived exactly when I needed them most. Faith was an absolute angel and helped guide me through many important concepts that strengthened my recovery. Chase also excelled at combining fun with learning and reminded us that sobriety doesn't mean life stops being enjoyable. Most importantly, every single staff member contributed to my recovery. Together, they helped me build a toolbelt full of practical skills, insights, and coping strategies that I will carry with me long after leaving Sana Lake. They created an environment where I felt supported, challenged, encouraged, and cared for. To anyone considering treatment: I arrived skeptical, resistant, and convinced I didn't belong here. I am leaving with gratitude, hope, and a stronger foundation for recovery than I ever thought possible. Thank you, Sana Lake. I'm a chronic relapser and have been to Valley Hope several times. My relapses had nothing to do with Valley Hope and the care they provided. It just wasn't my time yet. I love Atchison Valley Hope. The staff are A+. They genuinely care about the patients while there and after their discharge. I get calls from my counselors and case workers periodically just to see how I'm doing. It's more than collecting an insurance check with them. I finally took their advice and went to php and iop, in addition to an addiction counselor. I'm 65 years old and sober for the first time in a very long time. There's no treatment center that's going to keep you sober or drug free. It takes work, but at AVH they will provide a serious reboot for your future. Alec T.

Pine Lake Behavioral Health is the best clinic I have ever been to. I've been to other clinics in the past and consulted with various psychiatrists, but none compare to the experience here. Jessica is the most outstanding psychiatrist I've ever had; she truly listens to your concerns and cares deeply about your wellbeing, offering the best care and treatment options available. I entirely recommend her!! The nurses at this facility are incredible as well! They create a comfortable atmosphere and treat you like family! Salvation Army when I went homeless after the military I didn’t know they had services for veterans like this. The KCVA helped to get into the Salvation Army. I had to stay here due to indifferences at my house. My stay was comfortable and peaceful. The other Veterans are kind. My case worker Irene was very hard on me at first lol! After I was admitted in she was kind and loved all of us. Integration was easy. Irene will help you get more % to help in your case. She is there for you. Use her and let her know how you feel. She has been working there for 15 years (KC,Kansas). What an accomplishment. There are others that work with Irene that are just as important to you. You have to do chores but they aren’t large duties. Roger will be on you. It’s good to clean your surroundings makes you feel good. Breakfast isn’t the greatest but, that will change. Yvette serves breakfast she has to have thick skin because she didn’t make the food. She has no control on what is being served. Be nice to her always and your days will go better. Lunch and Dinner are more filling. Blake is one of the cooks trying to make new desserts and new meals. There is a “suggestion box” downstairs so fill it out. They have snack later on in the night. I met Tom from Salvation Army very stand up person he is kind and cordial. They have a gym for basketball and a small workout room. The Veterans I met are my forever brothers. I will stay in touch after I leave. Thank you Salvation Army for helping me find my way.

I was recently hospitalized for a relatively minor medical condition. The company I work for has an arduous process for returning to work after being laid off for medical reasons. I desperately needed to be seen on short notice so that I could return to work. The staff at the Lincoln V.A. worked with me diligently. My primary care physician, Sasha Grantski, went above and beyond her normal duties to "squeeze" me in for an appointment. Thanks to her and the Lincoln V.A. staff, I am back to work. I am extremely grateful.

I am the child of two parents who met at an AA meeting over thirty years ago. My mom and dad split when I was little because my dad was unable to defeat his demons. When I was 9 he overdosed for the final time on heroin. The last time I saw him was in prison. I’ve spent most of my twenties filling that emptiness with different substances such as alcohol, weed, painkillers, adderall, and most recently kratom. My substance abuse was destroying my relationship with my family. I’ve always reached to something hoping to numb the pain of my reality, but currently I’m reaching for a different sort of healing. I’ve been blessed to have been put into Jason’s group. I am attending meetings three days a week and still struggle in my day to day, but I have learned that it’s okay not to always feel okay. Becoming sober has been one of the hardest things I have ever done, but the positives far outweigh the negatives. My performance at work has improved, my friendships are getting better, and I am learning to love myself. My biggest motivation to get healthy is my beautiful family. They deserve a father they can be proud of and I will continue with the program until I know I can trust myself to continue on my own. Everyday presents its own challenges, but it is good knowing that there are people like Jason who care about what happens to me. He challenges the way I think and is one of the main reasons I decided to stick it out with the program. He is truly someone who practices what he preaches, and there is a part of me that doesn’t want to let him down. If you have fallen victim to addiction, I promise that if you give valley hope a chance and buy into the program that you will start to like the person you see in the mirror again. I’ve hated myself for most of my life and have attempted suicide multiple times. For the first time in a long time I feel as though i can see a light at the end of the tunnel. For so long it was only darkness. I always wore a mask in public that was hiding the pain I felt in my heart. I am thankful my wife pushed me towards this program and I really want to continue towards being able to control my life and my impulses. My children deserve to have the father that I was never afforded. I don’t trust many people, but Jason has earned my respect and is ultimately why I decided to continue. I believe with his guidance and the program that valley hope provides that I will be able to stay on the path towards a better and fulfilling life. I’m not perfect and it’s possible I will make mistakes along the road to sobriety, but I do know that I will never let substances control my life again. I truly believe that. It’s okay to ask for help sometimes. Find your reason and realize that we have but one life in this beautiful world. Don’t continue to let those precious moments be stolen by a substance. Happiness comes from within, not from a bottle. If your reading this, know that there is always time to change the path. It isn’t an easy way to travel, but I have to believe that it is worth it. I’m gonna keep working towards long term sobriety for the sake of my family but also for the sake of my soul. Thank you Valley Hope

I haven't personally been a patient here, but I have had several friends complete the inpatient program for substance abuse, and they all seemed to like it. I know you can still smoke cigarettes, but no cell phones the first few weeks and limited if any contact at all with the outside world. It's coed, so that probably helps people when making a decision for an inpatient facility. Especially when we're talking 30+ days or more, detoxing off any and all things good, lol! The entrance to check in is tricky to find too, it's actually on the back side, or really, it might even be the side of the building under an awning. Hit the buzzer, and someone comes to help you get checked in.
