Their treatment options include medical detox, clinical stabilization | Treatments Programs Payment Options | I had an amazing, amazing stay. The dining staff made delicious food, especially the desserts. My only drawback would be that the facility is understaffed as far as techs go, but their drive, empathy, and kindness more than made up for it. I would especially like to thank Christine for being an ANGEL on Earth, and Annemarie for her dedication and care. The nursing staff did everything they could to ensure a comfortable, safe experience. I would recommend this facility to anyone experiencing a mental health crisis.

Such a great place! From the moment I very nervously, and hesitantly walked in I was treated with compassion and respect. I was in real trouble, my drinking was out of control for a long time, and my health and family were suffering. Serenity got me safely detoxed and sober, and then taught me how to stay that way. As I write this review I’m 14+ months sober. Thank you, Serenity! If you or someone you love has a substance use disorder, I highly recommend Serenity.

I visited Anna Jaques Hospital's MRI/Radiology department early this morning. I came in contact with at least 9 people throughout my visit, from entering and getting information at the front desk (I was personally escorted to where I needed to be), to registering in MRI/Radiology, and then on to my X-ray and MRI, I met with the most helpful, friendly, professional and competent staff that I have encountered in a very long time. Haverhill Behavorial Health has an approach to mental health care that is focused on getting you through whatever is causing you to feel the way you do. Their approach is kind of old school and may make most people upset with how they “treat” you. Meaning you aren’t allowed your phone, only at specific times. This is only to have you socialize and get to know other people there. The staff is very supportive but is stern to most of the “bad behavior” that happens. They will intervene with arguments before they become fights. Becky’s dual diagnosis meetings were very helpful in the sense that you got to hear other people stories and how everything in their lives have impacted them. Everyone is there to support eachother and try to get you through any issues you may have. But ultimately it’s up to you on how to manage yourself and in turn others. My experience was very helpful and completely changed my outlook on a lot of things.

I have had many problems with doctors that just didn't care and was ready to give up I pushed his poor ladies buttons as hard as I could. And I was good at it. And from that point on I will say this lady has saved my life. It has been several years and I owe my life to this one lady at seacoast mental health. I’m under the care of Ellen McFarland, and after seeing an array of people since 2003, I can say that she is the best therapist I’ve ever seen. She is so realistic, talks to me instead of down, and uses my language, instead of quotes from a book. I can change the office environment at anytime. The negative reviews seem to be from people who don’t quite care to discover the reasons behind things or can’t comprehend how some guidelines/rules came into being. The partial hospitalization program really helped me in getting structure back into my life, figuring out what works best for me, etc.
Someone complained about not being given the phone numbers of other patients and in group and that we are dissuaded from sharing contact information but as a rule it *makes sense* there should be exceptions to most of the rules but as a baseline it is a safety concern. People can trauma bond and form unhealthy dynamics or cyclical negative behavior patterns. People can be in for all different reasons and some may not feel safe with their information being given out. This place isn’t perfect but it deserves a higher rating than it has received here- people just don’t like being told what to do even if the whole point is to get a better outlook and have our views challenged.

Briefly stayed at Hampstead Hospital as a teenager suffering from depression and anxiety. There was a lack of privacy compared to other psych hospitals I’ve stayed at. For example shared bedrooms and bathroom doors that had to stay partially open (even though it was a co-ed unit). However I found the stay to be overall much more comfortable than other hospitals. The staff were kind and interactive with us, something that’s so important but often overlooked in psychiatric healthcare. The group’s were helpful and relevant. I had a great experience taking an Impaired Driving course here this summer. After years of trying to sort out my license, the people here were beyond helpful and knowledgeable of the process—they explained everything upfront in terms of cost and expectations. Trina was especially helpful, along with the rest of the staff. I felt seen as a human and truly appreciated their welcoming and positive attitude—I felt I really benefited from taking their program overall.
This is really refreshing, after running into what feels like so many roadblocks in an already difficult situation to deal with for many.
