While visiting relatives for the holidays, I fell on the stairs and injured several areas of my body. Besides several contusions, I fractured my arm, in the wrist area, and caused a head injury. I checked published ratings before choosing where to go, and almost decided against going to UPMC Chautauqua; however, I m so glad I ignored the negative comments! From the minute I walked in, until the minute I left, I was treated with the upmost kindness and extraordinary professionalism. I have been using the VA for all my medical care since 2008. When I moved to back to Jamestown the CBOC would be the 5th facility I have used for medical care after retiring from 23 years of service. The service here is compassionate, caring and skilled. The fact that they have all three is impressive since I found care where all or some of these three elements are missing. You will be treated properly here. They do a fantastic job.

I've been going to Best Self for about 6 or 7 years. Everyone is extremely kind, considerate, and efficient. They manage my medication, and provide counseling. I'm lucky enough to say that Sara Booth has been my counselor 2 x a month all these years. She is phenomenal. She listens, is compassionate, has offered to go above and beyond ..... as in hold a family group counseling session. I think of her more as a friend than a counselor. If I need to speak to her in between appointments, she will call me... briefly... but long enough to calm me down.On nights or weekends, Best Self has a number to call if you are having a very tough time. You are connected with a live counselor. Once, a man talked to me for about an hour. It will most likely be about 30 min.It's such a comfort knowing I'm not "alone".Don't let the facade of the N. Collins building turn you off. It just proves they're not pocketing more money than they need to stay afloat.If you're on the fence, please try it.

The Erie VAMC is incredible. This is certainly one of the best kept secrets in VA healthcare. In the larger clinics in Colorado I was treated like cattle, just another vet needing help. At the Erie VAMC they have treated me with the utmost respect and dignity no matter what part of the clinic I use. My primary care experience has been first class. My provider genuinely cares about my health and well-being. My prescriptions have been filled immediately as well as any supplies that I need. I just had a surgical procedure today and the whole surgical staff was friendly, professional, and caring. I am so happy and thankful for all of the amazing folks that work here!

I work at another VAMC. I brought a Veteran for an appointment today to the Buffalo VAMC. Dr. Ferrario was a breath of fresh air! She was pleasant, strait forward and very knowledgeable. She answered all the veterans questions and even escorted us to the area to schedule upcoming appointments. She should be commended on her acceptional care! Was a great place went here yrs ago and ended up going through horizon village in sandborn and ended up with 4 yrs clean. Trying to get back in here to get my life together. Hopefully Ill get called soon. Would definitely recommend it to anyone trying to get clean! It only works if you work it!!!
