I am writing to give a shout-out to "Sydney" in the centralized scheduling dept. After one month of frustrating attempts to obtain the correct script for a mammogram from my physician, I was fortunate to speak with Sydney who helped to expedite the process. She even went as far as calling me personally to let me know that the scripts were in place and correct. (I never heard anything from my personal physician's office.) Clients can be admitted for treatment through a phone call or | Programs Payment Options | If it wasn’t for Jesus Christ I would not be sober today. He receives all the credit for my rest, peace, restoration, rehabilitation, recovery and sobriety. I credit MM with convincing me to enter recovery. When I second guessed attending MM, from director down to intake coordinators they shared the benefits and advantages of the programs. I especially thank Irma for her encouraging personality and experience in the real world. The intake staff played a big role in getting me out of Michigan; where I felt unsafe and incapable of defeating the disease of alcohol and addiction. They called me 2-4 times a day, 7 days a week, for 1 month. They didn’t know me, but it felt as if they did. I finally had a friend or somewhat like a loved one that actually care about me living.
Two therapist stood out to me; Meagan and Jesse! They were amazing. They obviously put not only their minds to their clinical groups, but they pour their energy and hearts into their therapy. I truly wish that one of them was my personal therapist while I was in the program. Jesse mastered bring clients/patients together. Meagan was unbelievable, her therapy and meditation tactics enhanced my relationship with Christ. It allowed me to focus in on my praying, conversational skills, praise and listening skills with Christ personally. In 2022, my father died and under the influence of my disease, I decided to not complete my MA in CMHC although I was only four classes away. Meagan’s expertise and compassion has changed my mind. I’m going to finish my Masters!!!!
She was amazing!
I also enjoyed specific staff members whom compassion and care was beyond genuine. Those staff members were two different Dans, Olivia, Victoria, Bill, Nick and Maryam.
The highlight of my experience at MM were MY PEOPLE! Those who were just like me. Race didn’t matter, gender was no factor, and we all were blinded to anyone’s lifestyle preferences. We loved each other, taught each other, hugged each other, shared together, and encouraged one another. We all shared the same desire to be free. Not just free of addiction, but free in life alone. I encouraged everyone in my path to hate! Yes, I said it, “Hate”! I encouraged to hate drugs and alcohol. And I also loudly and proudly shared the name of my Higher Power. I will once again, if your searching for a Higher Power, I like to recommend mine. His name is Jesus! He has freed me in life.
If you are ready for a new journey of sobriety, I strongly recommend MM of Randolph, NJ. This facility may require you to detox first, and two hours away I had an even greater experience at Enlightened Recovery located in Atlantic City, NJ.

Do not go to this place, my pregnant wife went here for bleeding from a car accident. They made her wait 2 hours before any doctor can see her. She informed them she had bleeding and was in a car accident and made here wait 2 hours. I don’t suggest anyone go here. Yea the place is brand new but that’s all that’s there it makes sense why they have a police officer in the emergency room incase anyone over reacts over being mis treated. They also let her leave and said she would be fine after a few hours that wasn’t the case this place is horrible who makes a lady pregnant in a car crash wait 2 hours in the ER. I was physically tortured in this facility. It was to the point I couldn’t stand and my jaw felt dismembered. The worst pain I have ever experienced in life. This is an inhumane institution and it should be abolished. Be mindful of where you have your paranoid crises or mental breakdowns. North Bergen, is not the place. Not to mention, it has left me emotionally deprived. I can’t enjoy life as I once did. Film, music, family, friends, romance. Life in it’s entirety. In looking over his medical records from his August 2023 hospital stay at Garnet Medical Center in Middletown, I'm appalled and disgusted.
My father (age 82) is currently in a hospital FAR from Garnet (fortunately). I'm convinced if my parents were still living in Orange County, I might not have my father around right now. Due to his current medical situation, I made sure that consents were signed to make sure records were accessible to new providers for continuity of care.
His 2023 Garnet records indicated that in one exam by an NP, he's called obese--yet they noted the distended stomach which he ended up being diagnosed with a bowel obstruction that was (fortunately) successfully operated on. This initial exam missed his documented heart murmur. The exam makes NO MENTION of his blood pressure, which was 200/123 at the time. His hernias were missed. They were letting him rot in the ER until my mother advocated for him--and this is a man who only takes ibuprofen when he's in pain.
And lastly, no one at Garnet Medical--including him--was informed of two extremely serious diagnoses that had apparently been in his chart since 2020 yet all the 2023 labs seem to indicate that these conditions were exacerbated and did not return to a non-detectable baseline during the hospital stay, nor by the time he was discharged. He only received an NP consult for one in the hospital for, but was scheduled no follow-up or aftercare, nor do his discharge plans indicate any outpatient referrals he should have had.
All of this, and they sent $650 to collections despite applying for hardship assistance for it.

Felt like I was treated as family here as soon as I walked in. Rehab is what you make of it, and some are looking to do the deal while others are not, it s important to stick close with the people who are really trying to get this thing. Only thing I will say is aftercare treatment is basically nonexistent here, no contacts from alumni since I left, if you have mail at the PHP house they won t tell you, they just throw it out. Basically if you don t go to their sober living you feel like ties are cut. Everything here was great just wish they did more for people who leave and decide to go somewhere else.

This clinic isn't perfect by any means, but it is better than any other one I've ever been on. They give you the "cherry" syrup methadone instead of the b.s. water kind, they don't force you to do i.o.p. or groups or anything like that. And the line is usually not too bad all things considered. I'd recommend it to anyone that wants the help. Also, they offer a lot of help with other aspects of your life including employment and mental health services, as well as helping you with getting your foodstamps or medicaid turned on if you need that. Haven't met any staff member there that hasn't gone above and beyond for me to help with every issue that has come up.
UPDATE: so I've been on and off this program like 4 or 5 times. On it now. And of course since the last time I was there which was about 2 years ago there is only one or two of the same staff there. Big turnover rate. But seems like alot of less people on the program or maybe more people getting take home bottles because there is never a line when I go. And they don't allow anyone to "hangout" for like 4 blocks in any direction to prevent the b.s. that goes on outside every clinic in America. I gotta say it's still the best spot I've been to and I've been on at least 5 different ones in ny and nj

I've been to several methadone clinics and Greenwich House is by far the best. Staff is very friendly, accommodating, and professional. If you're looking for a methadone clinic go here, dont waste your time anywhere else. I was medicated on the first day. They dont force you to go to groups. The counselors are very helpful and they have on site medical and mental health services.
Update!
Today, 7/17/23, was my last day at Greenwich House. A few months ago I had been on 210 mg of methadone for about 4 years and decided it was time to get off. So I began to taper down relatively fast dropping 10 mg per week. When I got to 20 mg I slowed down to 5 mg decreases per week. Anyway, when I got down to 5 mg I decided to go down to 2 mg and that was today. I got my weeks worth of 2 mg bottles and when they're gone I'll be totally off methadone. I did this with no withdrawal symptoms or cravings. And I have not touched dope since I began the program on 4/27/19. I'm so proud of myself and this is a total success story. There is such a stigma about methadone. People say it's like "liquid handcuffs" or that it controls your life and it's impossible to get off and it's just replacing one drug with another, but I'm proof that none of that is true. Methadone saved my life and when I felt I didn't need it anymore I got off, simple as that. I would like to thank my counselor Sophia and Marlene from the medical department for both always being so supportive and accommodating. They genuinely care about all of their patients and deserve mentioning although all the staff is very caring, helpful and professional. I cannot recommend this place enough if you are struggling with addiction. They WILL help you.

The connections I made with all the clinicians/interns in only a few months was amazing, and helped me progress to where I am today (Special shout out to my clinician, Andrew, for making sure I'm okay always and helping me through some tough times!) The new building is beautiful, lots of light and windows as opposed to the old center. Thank you, Sylvia, for making me laugh at the times I wanted to cry, humor is much needed. Overall the program was a great experience for me personally. if you're ready to commit to a program and really put in the work, this is an amazing place to be. Amazing resources and all the staff are so kind!!

Our tween recently completed the PHP program at High Focus Centers in Parsippany, and we felt compelled to share what truly sets this program apart. While the clinical care was strong for our son, the hidden gem of this program is the weekly Family Group counseling sessions for parents!
Facilitated by John, who cares deeply about the well-being of the parents as much as the teens, these virtual sessions have been an invaluable lifeline. They create a safe, supportive space where families can share, listen, and learn from each other. We found ourselves looking forward to these meetings—not only to gain insight and guidance, but also to support others at different points in their own journeys.
If you’re navigating the mental health recovery path with your teen, this program provides more than treatment—it builds community, connection, and hope. We’re grateful to have found it!
