I was a Patient there for approximately 9 months. A Wonderful Atmosphere and you re surrounded by ppl who Really Care.Especially the Counselors, My Counselor in Particular. Her Name was Jenn. A Wonderful Person and an Absolute Dear young Lady.She was Extremely informative and Knows just how to make you feel Comfortable and Cared For.I was going through a Rough patch, but looked Forward to my meetings with her every week and Every time I left her office, I ALWAYS FELT BETTER AND FELT LIKE SOMEONE CARED..I can Honestly Say, Meeting Jenn was a Highlight of my Time there.I only left there because I found a place Much Closer to my home out East.But my Counselor there will always be close to my heart.And I Thank Her Dearly.All in all, a Wonderful Place to Get Clean and Stay Clean

At the time I didn't have nearly as much of an appreciation for this place as I do now. At Madonna Heights, I learned a lot in the ways of empathy for others around me and cooperation. I attended Madonna Heights around 2019, when I was at my worst. I left the RTF with a sense of community that I have never felt before, and I would love to personally thank some of the staff and my peers back then for that. One of my favorite skills that I would love to get back into was the jewelry making; The two teachers who taught were the kindest, most intelligent and creative ladies I have ever met. I still have my favorite piece that I created based on The Starry Night. :)

I lived at Madonna Heights in the 1964 stayed for 4 years. It was the best thing that happened to me! I learned many skills as well as my education was on a better track. Although being black many concerns were not addressed nor were we encouraged to achieve greater success. I loved living there. I learned how to sew industrial and fashion clothing. We were encouraged to be leaders of our unit. I was active in all sports. I am thankful for the spiritual learning was as expanded into a true spiritual life.

I've never dealt with a VA hospital before, and so didn't know what to expect when my father started using their services. I have to say that we have been extremely pleased with what we've experienced.In addition to the very satisfactory medical care he received, another thing that was impressive was the respect with which they treat the veterans. I saw this not only with my father, but with others who I saw in the halls during our visits to their ER and other offices. You could tell that the care they gave sprung from appreciation for their service.Both the doctors and the nurses were always there for us when we needed them. They both made house calls and the nurses were there for us 24/7-- even for emergency house calls in the wee hours of the night/morning.Everything we experienced in our years of interactions with the VA left me with a feeling that socialized medicine could indeed work if done properly. That's not meant to be a political statement, but just an observation of truly good service coming from a government-run agency.My dad recently passed away, so I really want to thank the Northport VA for their service to him. It made a big difference to him and those of us caring for him. I don't know what we would have done without them.

Westport House is well managed and well run. It has all the amenities you could ask for, with resources to get every aspect of your life back on track. The management and staff cares about you, and that's important when trying to better yourself. They really give you an upper hand. I hope I don't need to, but I would recommend anyone to stay here to get their life back on track, and I would again in a heartbeat.

After years of trying everything we could think of, my wife and I finally found Westport House. Our son was admitted quickly and efficiently, and, from that point on, our experience was incredible. After a couple of months we saw a noticeable change in our son. The staff was very timely in their correspondence with us and always treated us appropriately. During his time there, our son became actively involved in Alcoholics Anonymous, obtained employment, and began treating us and others with a level of respect we did not know he was capable of. He stayed there for 7 months, and I can say, it was very much worth every penny. Our son is still sober today and continues to attend the AA meetings that he went to during his time at Westport House. We cannot thank Westport House enough for giving us our son back. After 7 painful years, the change that he was able to make in his life is incredible, and it is all thanks to the great staff and services at Westport House.

After being in and out of many different rehabs, it was at Westport House that I learned how to live a brand new life. The staff was kind, loving, and compassionate. They showed me the way up and out of the horrible rut I was in. They also helped my family understand addiction, and what they needed to do to help me, and themselves. The atmosphere is relaxed, comfortable, and the incredibly supportive! Being able to see their therapists and clinical team was also essential in aiding my recovery. I'm so grateful for the life Westport House gave me.

Going to south oaks was better than I could have expected. The counselors, staff, nurses, doctors, were all great. They helped me set up a plan for my recovery. I was fed way better than I could have expected. I'm really grateful to have made the decision to go and get some help for myself. Its sad to see all the negative reviews. Maybe cause they were by patients that aren't ready to get well yet. I'm blessed to have gone and would recommend going to anyone that is ready for a reset to get better

Was here at South Oaks back in 2018 the unit was Coed a girl who was on the ward with me recently passed away due to a drug overdose..She should of never been discharged. South Oaks is a great hospital they prepare a discharge plan get you into outpatient treatment. It's up to each person we control our lives and destiny. We ate well had plenty of toiletries.We pretty much could do what we want sleep all day lounge around too bad we can't go for a mini vacation .

Coming to LITC has been a great and transformational experience. The people that come here and work here are all very serious and committed to getting and keeping you on the right track. The facility is nice and accommodating, offering morning and evening meetings throughout the week. A Lifesaving Experience for My Son s Broken Arm Exceptional Pediatric ER & Ortho Team!After a terrible experience at another hospital (Cohen LIJ), where the ER team failed us and no one followed up, we were referred to Nassau University Medical Center by our orthopedic specialist. From the moment we arrived, the care was "night-and-day different".Pediatric ER: The wait time was shockingly short, and the team was incredibly kind. My son, Tristan, was seen immediately, and 4-5 different nurses checked on him regularly, making sure he was comfortable. A compassionate Haitian doctor (I wish I got his name!) was thorough and reassuring.Emergency Surgery: We were admitted for an urgent wrist surgery due to a broken bone. The resident orthopedic surgeon, Dr. Omar Saleem (Precision Orthopedics - 161 Willis Ave Mineola), was outstanding. He took the time to explain the procedure in detail, answered all our questions with patience, and treated Tristan with so much empathy. The surgery went smoothly, and I felt confident in his expertise.Post-Op & Discharge: After a 3-hour wait (expected for emergency cases), RN Jin Young Lee handled our discharge with exceptional care. She reviewed all instructions clearly, ensured we understood follow-up care, and was genuinely kind.Hospital Environment: Yes, the building is older, but it s well-kept, clean, and organized. Even the restrooms were neat something I don t take for granted in busy hospitals!I m truly saddened by the negative reviews because our experience was flawless in a high-stress situation. If you need emergency care (especially pediatric) or a skilled orthopedic specialist, I highly recommend NUMC and ask for Dr. Omar Saleem if you need bone-related care.Thank you, NUMC team, for restoring our faith in medical care!

I couldn t have asked for a better experience for the start of my recovery journey. Turnbridge Westport has excellent, knowledgeable, and kind staff who really care about their patients. Their IOP and OP programs have been extremely helpful for me, and the one-on-one therapy sessions have also helped me tremendously. Furthermore, they have an awesome psychiatric nurse practitioner on staff who has really gotten to know me as a patient and didn t just push pills on me. I would give them infinity stars if I could!!

Honestly they have the best IOP and OP programs and most amazing and helpful therapists. They played a huge part in saving me and helping me start my life over again and I couldn't have done it without the help of their more than helpful and caring staff and the best therapist, Nicole!!!!!! At the age of 21 I was lost and hopeless. Ran with the wrong crowd and had a substance abuse problem. Liberation House was the turning point for me. I entered in the spring of 1974 and graduated in 1976 with a baby girl (a first at Lib House 9/10/1974). I was given the opportunity to completed my education, got a GED, and went on to National Academy of hairdressing. I m still in touch with a few of my comrades. I ve gone n to have a successful life, one day at a time.

Stayed there about 4 months with a spinal infection. Staff and administration were friendly and efficient. Cared for most of my needs. Food was decent. I did not care to be institutionalized however. Not their fault, Kind of out of the way.

I was there approximately 10 year's ago and when i got there ,I had to get used to being there. But turned out that in a month, I started washing pot's in the kitchen to being the head cook at this facility. My time was most spent in the women's building where the main kitchen is located. This program is good for those who want it for themselves. The staff and residents loved the way I cooked. About 150 residents.
