I usually detest going to the ER room .. Maybe because it was the time of day but this time wasn’t bad at all. I was in so much pain .. I feel they treated me fast and with care .. The only issue was the person who was registering .. She seemed quite insensitive by talking very loud and rushing my answers expecting me to answer right away when it was obvious that I was in a lot of pain .. Everyone else was quite caring. It was at 11:00 am . This could be a factor in the smoothness. Thank you staff.

This was my first experience. I got there on Thurs (good security). I was checked my nurse, talked to a counselor, & the doctor can't see me until next Mon (it's a long time). Doctor wasn't there on Monday? Apparently, doctors are there Tuesday and Wednesday only. Otherwise, I'd have to wait another week (another stretch).
It's clean. No one else there at the time.

First I want to say I went up there of my own free will, I had no court dates no probation nothing, and honestly if it wasn’t for my counselor Christine I would not have given this review!! She was the only in there that was actually understanding and would do anything to help you stay clean!! The director Les only cared about the rules no matter how out dated or ridiculous they were!! If it wasn’t for Christine helping me out and changing her schedule those rules would’ve cost me my job which Les seemed to not care about!! The other staff was very nice but you could tell they were tired of those out dated rules as well!!

I love their ENTIRE staff, I was alittle nervous at first because I was not sure if my insurance was going to cover it or if I was going to be able to get state funded. Before coming to RFH, I felt worthless and empty. I lost everything and had no one. Being at the Alpha House facilitye gave me a way to cope with my feelings of worthlessness. In the past I would have drowned myself in drugs. I'm only 19 and lost everyone and everything of importance in my life. My son will turn 2 years on March 31st, I haven't seen him since he was 13 weeks. My heart is filled with hate, pain and regret. I lost him due to failed drug tests and he was placed with my grandmother that raised me. I though he would be protected so I continued to use and got myself into a lot of trouble. My son was physically abused by my father’s girlfriend due to my bad choices, my using progressed until it was more painful to use. I'm learning how to stay clean, to do the next right thing for the next right reason. I have a chance at life today. I've learned how to be responsible, dependable and respectful. I'm employed, saving money and I'm considerate to others. I'm grateful today.

I have been going to the Freedom House Durham for about 7 years. The Freedom House has always been my comfort zone with battling life issues and struggles. Dr Julie Mutua has been the best doctor I’ve had for my mental health concerns. She is always available welcoming and she not only understands but she has a compassionate heart. The receptionist Ms Linda always is available for all my scheduling needs and I am so thankful and grateful for the services they have and will continue to provide me. U guys should definitely give Freedom House a chance they have a good name because Freedom is what they provide when u need comfort.

I just returned home from 4 weeks at Structure House in the Jump Start Program. The program was absolutely amazing! My 17yo daughter also came with me as my “family support.” I hope to return this summer for 2 weeks!
The program offered multiple classes a day and they focused on eating, exercise, wellness, GLP-1s, planning, medical issues, cooking and they also offered support groups. There were also planned field trips to play pickleball, shop at target and shop at the mall. My FAVORITE activity was Aqua fitness which was held 2x a day. There was also an art classes held during my last week that I wish was offered more! The nutrition classes also taught me a lot I didn’t know.
The other people in the program were a pleasure to spend time with and it’s a very supportive environment.
The food was beyond amazing and Chef Thomas and his staff were wonderful. They had so many options of food. The food was healthy, but it tasted delicious! It was a great way to reset your eating and patterns around eating.
I had a 1 bedroom apartment and it was very nice and modern. There was plenty of space and it was nice to have a washer and dryer in the bathroom.
If you are considering going to SH, I highly recommend it. During my time there, most of the people there were returning customers which says a lot! It means that people come back multiples times because it’s so great! I am hoping to be one of those return customers!
The only thing I would change would be more classes on the weekends 🙂

I went to Structure House in 2019. I can’t say enough about it. It helped me get into shape with the exercise classes and equipment. It helped me to develop healthy eating habits and because I stayed the whole month, I was able to stop my sweet cravings. In addition the classes taught me some great skills to catch myself when I want to go back to bad habits.
I am actually 20lbs lighter now then when I was when I left (144lbs) and now in my husband has lost weight from the skills I learnt when there.
My diabetes is a little better.
So thankful for Structure House!

I got into a wreck, came back to the US barely under my own power, and after the civilian ER wanted me to see a Neuro, long story short the ED here took wonderful care of me. I was extremely impressed by the PA, radiology techs, the Sergeant Major (sir), and everyone else who didn't treat me like the man child I am.

I am beyond grateful for UNC Horizons, thanks to this place I got my daughter back! And not to mention they helped me to get better for my kids!! I went there September 23, 2020 and graduated May 28, 2021! I also had my son while I was there on April 3, 2021! I love my doctors! I've never had a doctor or their office actually meet me halfway. My therapist and psychiatrist are always there when I need them. I don't have to worry about making sure that I have a ride to get to and from my appointments, the virtual visits are very convenient, especially when you're a single parent. They work around the minor inconveniences when you have kids in the background yelling for you. They don't keep you on the phone any longer than needed, when you're the only parent taking care of them. The patient portal is very convenient as well, especially after hours. You can still get a hold of them to talk about changes to your information, needing to make or cancel an appointment, etc...they say that it could take up to 2 days for a reply. But I've never had to wait, but just a few minutes to get a message back.

Mr. Ringer is the man and this entire community is lucky to have him. Not only is he plethora of great information and experiences, even more importantly he genuinely cares from the bottom of his heart about people and their overall success. If you enter with an open mind and heart you will find a place where you will feel at home and have an opportunity to reach your goals. After reading some of the negative reviews, they blow my mind and I feel that those troubled souls had other issues going on that did not allow them to see Dr. Ringer’s true intentions and spirit. Keep in mind he is in a very tough business, opening his doors to some very troubled individuals. I’m very grateful for having the opportunity to learn from him and have a seat inside his four walls. Until the day you decide to call it quits everyone that walks through your doors will be better off when they walk out. With gratitude and respect I leave this review.

I want to extend a special shout out to Miguel, Mana, and Charlie. When my father-in-law's ride home was canceled and the companies he uses didn't have any drivers available for four hours, these men became our guardian angels. We were out of options until I decided to try to take him home myself. They helped us load my father-in-law and his wheelchair into my vehicle, enabling me to get him home safely. Thank God they were present today.
