Heads up. Their case managers like James like to have people "secretly" listen into your support calls with them. They didn't tell me I was on speakerphone or identify who was listening in on my call.
And how did I know? They were literally speaking full volume. Like I am unclear if I was in speaker phone or not based on how clearly I could hear them. I heard them tell James how to respond word for word and then he would "telephone game" what he could remember.
Then when I asked to talk to the person advising him I heard "tell her you're not being advised" by the mysterious advisor to my medical call and then James parroted "I am not being advised" lol like it would be hilarious if it was a skit and not my actual life being secretly listened to.
Like I have severe memory loss but I'm retaining this memory because of how absurdly stupid the situation was, just admit someone was advising you.

They’re good alright, they’ll convince you to hold off on your classes if your insurance expired ,even thou you have a couple left, just so they can jack up the bill for the insurance people. Then they’ll tell you, you’ve gone too far and need to redo the whole 8 weeks. Doesn’t sound much unless you gotta drive over two hours to get there. Then you gotta worry about cops harassing you on the way home because the Navajo nation has curfew laws in effect. The energy is good here but the people running the scheduling and acceptance are dropping the ball.

Great program great staff 5/15/25 an update since first review: I have now completed the program here at SRC and its been the most amazing beautiful experience here! From the 2 week residential then to the IOP living at Trullies for 90 days, then completing the rest of IOP while I moved to sober living. Everyone from the CEO Lee to the therapist's to the facilitators, to the behavioral health staff, peer support staff, case managers, and receptionist they all work together closely for each individual patient and their case while they are apart of SRC. Each phase of the program is held delicate for the patient's, to make it a smooth transition on each phase. They offer OP (outpatient) for the patient's that have graduated so they still get continued doctor's appointments, and still are able to have therapy with the therapist that has been with the patient through out the whole program. SRC has offered my life back to me, has taught me many coping skills, relapse prevention skills, trauma therapy, communication skills. They offer job support, housing, reentry programs, medication management. I HIGHLY recommend SRC for substance abuse and mental health treatment. They have a wonderful detox center, that doesn't make you feel shameful. If you are needing help, there is no reason to look anywhere else. Staff is ridiculous the staff was very racist very discriminating social worker took other people in the office to discuss cases privately but me out loud where everyone could hear if you tried to sleep or rest they would come in the room and be loud especially this representative Demi and then meet a statement to one of the other patients about how she was so rude and the other guy Steve said you think that's bad I can make your day worse like a monster it was so unjust and unfair I thought I was there to get some R&R if you have a disability you're a mental illness I don't suggest you go there for any kind of treatment the only cause more trauma and drama a lot of those people don't even have any business being around disabled or mentally ill people know why they treat people so wrong on so many levels and I don't understand why it's not for me to but I hope they can learn from their mistakes another thing I'm pretty sure they broke the HIPAA law I honestly think they need to be investigated and then on a holiday with holding cigarettes just because somebody made a comment about them being a smartass yeah I don't think Ezekiel needs to be around any patience either I think a lot of things that they did while I was there was uncalled for I was there more in my husband's murder I was trying to process the pain I was going through my heart was so broken as they fist bumped each other and laughed

I requested my medical records so that I could get a security clearance for a job. It took about a month of me calling the line to get a person to talk to, and even longer for my records to be released. As the position was time sensitive, I wasn't able to finish the security clearance in time and I did not get the job, even though I was already offered the job. Needless to say, after going through a traumatic experience that necessitated me staying here, having them do this was quite the disappointment.
Edit: this was back in 2016, and the review was posted years back (I accidentally opened it and the publish date updated). I see the request for feedback from Sonora in response, so I will post it here.
I called their records office pretty much every day for several weeks. I was getting ready to take time off my education to go physically be present at their facility until I got my records before I got any response. I eventually got a copy of my records, but it was too late. I spoke with some sort of patient advocate, but nothing came of it.
I think it's important to discuss these issues in the open, rather than quietly with email, out of the public eye. Their poor decisions cost me a career. I don't think Sonora will do anything meaningful in regards to this, but I will reply to their email and see.
Second edit: Sonora replied to this review at the end of December 2024. I sent them an email, and have not heard back since (4 months as of this edit). Don't go here.

No one wants to go to detox/residential rehab but When you leave this place you will be glad you did. I've been to several detox/drug treatment centers but none are like this.
Groups are informative. They give you a foundation needed for success. They explain the steps and guide you through as many as you can in a 30 day period. You can feel supported, safe, and gain a sense of fellowship.
I enjoyed the holistic therapy, meditation therapy and the hikes.
Food was good, snacks whenever you want 24/7 nurses, you can smoke cigarettes/vape. Staff cares about your recovery.
If you or someone you know is struggling with addiction do yourself a favor and give them a call.

Impossible to get a hold of. It states you can call for rental assistance from 2 to 3 on Thursday’s but it only lets you call until 2:30. If you actually have someone answer the phone they give you no time to get all the paperwork you need to get help. My family had to get an important paper for DES and the lady only gave until the next to get it which was impossible. It shouldn’t be this hard to get help. I have been trying to call to get another appointment for two weeks with no help. It’s sad that they made it this hard to get help, especially when you are about to lose your home. Very disappointed. I pray no one loses their home hoping for help from this place, that’s what is about to happen to my family.

I have a substantial physical disability as well and my family looked for a rehab facility for weeks and nobody would take me because of the special needs I require including modifications to the bathroom and shower among other things. They not only accepted me but love owners made sure that every single accommodation I required was met before I got there, including making modifications to the bathroom, putting a ramp in where it was needed, and making sure that there was enough staff there to help me with other needs.
I spent 30 days in recovery. All of the staff starting with Sandy, Paige, Aaron, Erika, Dale, Heather, were outstanding, caring, and supportive. I can’t say enough good things about my experience at Fountain Hills Recovery! From day one, the staff made me feel welcomed, supported, and truly cared for. The therapists, group facilitators, case managers, and housing staff were incredibly knowledgeable and helped me develop coping skills that I use every day. My start there was a little rocky, but the staff helped me walk through my “dramatics”, for lack of a better word, and showed me so much patience and compassion. They gave me the room to come to my own conclusions, but gave exceptional guidance along the way.
The structure of the PHP was exactly what I needed—intensive therapy during the day while still allowing me to go to the provided housing in the evenings to practice what I was learning. The group sessions were insightful, and I found a strong sense of community among the other patients.
Thanks to this program, I’ve gained a new perspective on my mental health and recovery. I feel more confident in managing my emotions and staying on the right path. If you’re considering PHP, I highly recommend Fountain Hills Recovery—it was truly life-changing! I will be forever grateful for my time there and owe the beginning of my recovery to them. From the bottom of my heart, thank you for everything!

My daughter came to Fountain Hills recovery center to seek treatment for her depression, OCD /ADHD , which caused her to become a non -functioning young adult. Sleeping most of the day and dropping her college classes one after another , which caused us a lot of distress and sadness about seeing our daughter mental ability deteriorating in front of our eyes and we couldn’t do anything. Finally and for the first time ever she asked us for help. We inquired about where to send her to, and we heard about Fountain Hills recovery center from a friend of ours. I called Sandy who was very helpful, gracious and she explained to us the admittance process and the type of treatments they offer . From my conversation with Sandy I trusted that this program could be a good fit for our daughter. We brought our daughter to the house on Dale Ave 5 weeks ago, and she stayed there for one month and now she moved to the all girls house.
From our experience so far I can tell you that we couldn’t have chosen any better place for my daughter to stay at than Fountain Hills. She is turning her life around a great deal. I haven’t seen her this joyful for a long time, the way how she talks has even changed and in a positive way. She tells me that they have the best staff and she loves everyone over there. Dr Robbie, Dr. Abraham, Page (who communicated with me many times to give us updates about our daughter), her therapist Jenny (we communicated with Jenny several timescand she was very helpful and encouraging ) and now Krista in the 2nd home are all doing amazing job.
My daughter underwent TMS treatment, 1:1 therapy session, group sessions and many other interventions techniques and is on the right medications that are helping her tremendously. She still has 3 more weeks to go and she has improved in a way we couldn’t dream of. We are finally seeing light at the end of the tunnel, and have some hope that our daughter’s life started to take a turn to the better.
I can tell you that this center is the best you can get in Arizona, they are genuinely trying to make a difference in the lives of people who seek treatment for mental disorders, addictions or for both, and they are truly making a difference. We thank God for all the wonderful staff!
Also not allowing the use of personal phones for 2 weeks initially is great, since my daughter got to isolate herself from the outside world which is full of distractions and got to focus on herself. One last thing to add is that the therapists and psychiatrist won’t brainwash your child, something that is very important to us as parents . I give Fountain Hills Recovery 10/10, and I recommend it for any parent who are reaching a dead end with their children or with a family member, believe me there is hope and is within your reach don’t wait too long!
