Consider your lunch plans elevated! The McCurtain Memorial Dietary Department is a hidden gem when it comes to daily specials. My wife and I are from Texas. We were visiting Oklahoma on vacation when my wife became ill. I drove her to McCurtain Memorial Hospital. We received the most attentive care from the friendliest staff I could have hoped for. They were genuinely kind and considerate. The hospital was clean and modern in appearance. The chaplain stopped in and prayed with us. I am truly grateful for the authentic care and compassion of this ER Team.

I have recently spent 2 different stays 1 for 5 days and 1 for 15 days everyone was so professional and checked on me hour and came every 4 hours for treatment on both stays the only reason for 4 stars and not 5 stars is the construction and some of the floors were a little dirty and I understand the hospital has to continue to operate with the construction now the rooms were clean just the noise and construction areas , and the hot water was a little funny .

I have been to so many places but I never felt heard like this before. Meds working but you're having annoying side effects? They'll listen to you and they'll let you try everything until you find what you like! They do it right too! They check in with you to make sure you're okay, you can call anytime if you need help with anything, and they have soooo many resources to help you. Addiction, medicine, therapy, if you want to get help, this is the place you should go. They understand you. Too busy? They do over the phone appointments sometimes too! Not to mention how personable everyone is. The ladies up front will remember you, the doctors and nurses are spectacular human beings! They're all a little goofy but they're also wonderful listeners. If you are reading this, just go. What's the worse that could happen? They won't let you get worse and stay that way. It's worth the effort.

Narcanon Arrowhead is an amazing, caring, no pressure facility thay cares about the individual and not the choices made to get them there. They work on cleansing the body of toxins then work on how to make better choices. If the student is willing to put in the work, they will show you tools to work with and work with you to become a smarter person about life choices. I will never be able to thank them enough for their patience, guidance, being available to answer our questions, ease our worries, provide updates, and give us our son back. He is with us because of the caring staff!

As a medical professional, I must say that this is one of the better places to go for psychiatric needs. The staff for the most part is amazing. One bad apple can ruin the whole bunch unfortunately. Management is great and things are addressed promptly. I know they recently got a few new safety and security features and there has been talk of revamping the building. I’ve been in several IP facilities from Tyler, TX to Webster Groves, MO, & this was the best staff I have ever had. The techs were caring, & would listen. They’d have casual conversations when times were slow! Nesha, Mimi, Rachel (who was also a great nurse), & above ALL else Breunna seemed to really care about us. There’s more than just them, too! The nurses actually seemed to want to better us. Melinda was very educated & taught me something about myself. The newest nurse, Kimberly, was tremendous! Believe or not… the food was actually really yummy! More protein & fibre/veg would be great, but I get it. A medium-sized tasty is better than an XL nasty. My biggest gripes: - Dr. Bella He’s apparently infamous around the facility 👀🫠 As someone who has been seeing every specialist under the sun… this man is a menace lol. Absolutely the rudest doctor I’ve ever encountered. An actual conversation on my second day: Bella: are you depressed? Me: believe it or not, no! I love my life, my family, & my job. I do get overwhelmed, but I’m never really depressed in like, a decade!! :) Bella: so I’m going to put you on something for depression. Me: ok… but respectfully, may I ask why? Bella: because you’re depressed. Me: …I don’t want to be obstinate but I’m… really not depressed. Anxious? Tightly-wound? High-strung? Yes, haha!! :D But I love my life & I don’t want to be on antidepressants! Bella: well, you’re depressed. Have you ever been on Zoloft? Me: oh, gosh, yes.. I’ve been on all the anti-depressants & more & Zoloft is the worst! Bella: what about lexapro? Me: yes, sir. & Effexor, & prozac, & lexapro, & even lamictal, paxil— Bella: have you taken Wellbutrin? Me: yes, sir. The last psych meds I was on was actually Prozac & Wellbutrin for— Bella: have you been on remeron? Me: no, sir?? Bella: *talking to nurse* start her on xx milligrams of remeron… Me: & what is this for again? Bella: depression. Me: ………ok. I mean, I don’t want to come across as unwilling to cooperate.. Bella: *suddenly & awkwardly ends session* You’re scared to have a real conversation with anyone, ESPECIALLY the doctor who has your fate in his hands. But… The med worked! Ha! HOWEVER! When it was day 5 of my stay, I asked when a possible date might be for my discharge. He told me he would “talk to my social worker”. Who’s that? I know everyone… who’s this mysterious social worker?? The next day, I met with him. “All’s well!” I exclaimed. As i I had been reporting. “I’m wondering if leaving this evening instead of tomorrow morning [which would be day 8] would be possible?” To which he answered: “let me talk with your social worker & see.” What?! Again?!! Lo & behold, my “social worker” was anyone who doesn’t have their MD. Therapists, mostly. He, alone, had the power to discharge me. Not a fan of adults who lie. Yikes. Grow up. In short: he’s a doctor who prescribed me a med that worked after I told him “no” to like 6 other pills, he didn’t listen when I told him “I’m not depressed”, & it appears he’s not willing to accept accountability when a patient asks a direct question. 1/10 do not recommend NEXT GRIPE: - You do nothing there. If you’re lucky, you watch 4 movies in a day. Day 4, someone deigned to leave a deck of cards for us (since there are no books, pens, or notebooks in the unit, I was shocked but excited!!) So… I played solitaire about 2-4 hours a day. Yay! Finally something other than lying down or watching random movies. (In all fairness, I watched a few great ones!) I have been to facilities where— at minimum— there is group therapy a couple times a week. Unfortunately, we basically had a therapist on a Saturday telling us how we need to “start with you” to “be more organised” (I think? I don’t remember). ______ But… I’ve paid too many thousands of dollars for treatment that clearly didn’t work for my mental health in the past. However… I weirdly enjoyed this. Thank you, staff. I saw the craziest stuff & the most mentally unwell people of my life in the last 8 days. But I wouldn’t have done it anywhere else.

I've been seeing Tracy Taylor for my mental health and psychiatric issues for over 3 years now. He takes time to listen, shows empathy and sympathy for you. He takes as much time as possible trying to get to know you and figure out your issues and treats you accordingly, including referring you to see a therapist/counselor. I appreciate him very much, especially him having to deal with my multiple mental/psychiatric issues. My situation is complicated, yet he hasn't given up on me. He has a wonderful bedside manner and is always very positive about things. I wouldn't ever want to be under the care of anyone else for these issues, if at all possible. He's an absolutely wonderful person who actually cares about his patients. I've also been seeing Emili Lim, the counselor that Tracy referred me to start seeing about 3 years ago. Emili is an absolutely amazing person! She is sympathetic and empathetic just as Tracy is. Emili gives the best advice to help deal with difficult situations in the easiest way possible. We all know there's no easy way to deal with every situation, but Emili will be there for you to talk you, give you advice, and help you through it. She will help you realize that everything isn't your fault, you can't control every situation, you can't change the past (only how you react to or deal with it), teach you to set boundaries between yourself and toxic people that keep causing you pain, they keep you on an emotional/mentally unstable rollercoaster or setting off triggers within you. After 3 years of dealing with all of my complicated situations and issues, I'm extremely thankful she's still here for me. Emili goes above and beyond for her patients. It definitely shows and proves that she really cares about them and she loves what she does. Since seeing her I feel like I've gained a new best friend, especially since she knows literally EVERYTHING about me, my family, and pretty much my whole life. When I feel like my life is spiraling out of control and I'm all alone during these times, Emili is one person I know I can count on to be there for me. This place I went there last year and I am trying to get back in there now. It was the best facility I’ve ever been in the nicest people who worked there and the doctors or so amazing I’m hoping they will let me come back if they have a bed, i’ve been to other facilities and had bad experience. The only one I would be in is McAllister Carl Albert. They are the best.
