The rules are pretty simple. However my big Downside is this is a for profit company. For the 80 or so they get from each patient it should be invested into quality case workers. I’m not saying they are all bad but I’ve been here for about 5 or so years, and I’ve just been given my 7th case worker granted only 5 we’re supposed to be permanent. Amanda always points me in the right direction and works hard to make sure all of my health concerns are taken care of. Going on 7 years. you can complain about the staff and whatever other excuses u want but it comes down to either you want to get better and will do anything you can to do that or your probably going to use or drink again. parents this place didn't fail your child your child didn't do the work but don't give up it took me 15 years in and out 154 detoxes endless sober houses two times dying to finally be willing to do whatever it took to stay sober. Even though they were all superstars the Most Valuable People on my team were two nurses by the name of Jinelle and Abi. They showed exceptional care and compassion during a difficult time. From the moment Abi cared for me, she treated me like a human being first, not just another patient. She took her time with me, listened carefully, and made me feel seen and understood. She educated and empathized with me on my illness because she had been through something similar. She also found innovative and thoughtful ways to help keep me comfortable. Jinelle’s knowledge and professionalism was exemplified both times she cared for me. She was able to explain what was going on and why. She made sure I was aware and understood my care fully. She never made me feel overwhelmed or dismissed. Both of them have shown how deeply they care about the people they treat. What stood out most was their humanity. Both women were patient, compassionate, calming, and genuinely kind. Those qualities cannot be taught easily, they come from someone who truly cares about what they do, and it absolutely shows in their work. The Miriam Hospital is incredibly fortunate to have amazing nurses like Abi and Jinelle on your team. I know that any patient who encounters either of them will walk away feeling that they received phenomenal care. They truly over exemplify the definition of a nurse and represent the very best of what healthcare should be. I’ve had a long and difficult journey trying to seek answers and help for my health issues, and continued experiences like that can leave a person feeling exhausted and discouraged.
