07/12/24 I almost died from Pancreatitis from my drinking. It’s a scary thing checking yourself in to a place like that. I was welcomed with open arms. The first person to sit down and talk to me one on one, pick my brain if you will before I started classes was Mr. Bill from RSS and Big Dan one of the instructors there. And Miss Holly big shout out to her for helping me get my meal plan back together I was a bodybuilder. Big Dan always talked with intensity and passion as a former addict. I had a recent bender and the first thing that happened when I walked in I shook Mr. Bills hand said long time no see, no judgement he said you hungry and fed me. Next day saw Big Dan with guilt I said I’m sorry I’m back but I’m happy to see you. We got talking a bit I sat down in the very first class I had with him and it was so raw and real, vulnerable even about his experiences. I hope this review does good for people looking for help. And I help they all see this knowing how much good they truly give to people and help they give to the world. From the last time I was there the amount my life changed has been leaps and bounds for the best. I recognized I made an error I immediately sought help. Got it immediately and can’t wait to never go back, but also to see how much farther I’ll go and achieve after this experience for the better.

Just finished a twenty eight day program this week. Ashley, the staff, PSAs (especially Gavin) helped me to finally grasp the severity of my disease and my spiritual condition. not a bad place, really helped me find a community that i could relate and connect with. i ended up AMA-ing for my own reasons. with these places, there’s always room for improvement, i think there could’ve been a lot more to do and get engaged in in residence, i wish we had movie nights or kareoke for example. and i wish the woman’s group didn’t feel so…misogynistic? just felt like everything we did was very girly? the best i can put it ig. idk i found myself watching a lot of TV because of how little there was to do. if you’re looking for somewhere serene, you won’t find it here, BUT i think if you come in with an open mind, and do what you need to do, and DONT get caught up in other clients, you can find a lot of peace in sobriety. remember what you came for. (it’s you) goodluck in there! be nice to the TA’s too, they DO care about you.

If you’re looking for a place that actually treats addiction like the chronic, complex, identity-dismantling condition it is, MARC is it. They take time, care, and effort, offering long-term care that dares to go beyond the hope of a 28-day radical transformation. The staff really knows what they’re doing, and they manage to be both clinicians and humans. It’s rare to find a program this ethical, compassionate, and effective. I couldn’t recommend MARC more!

I can't express in words, how much of a great and compassionate person the owner Pete is. He's a very stand up guy, when I had a problem that conflicted with my hours of school (I'm doing remote from 9:30am-4:30pm). Pete went out of his way to make sure, I could still attend my groups virtually from their IOP residential home during the evenings. When the house manager said I couldn't do this, Pete went and made some calls to accommodate me, so I could get the help I needed while also being able to pursue my dreams in getting a job in IT support. Thanks Pete 😊 🫂 🙏. If you're in need of assistance they are very welcoming at the office aswell. The front desk assistant Hunter was very supportive and understanding of my situation any questions I had she answered promptly and kindly. They offered drinks and food to us while we did our intake an everything. I truly appreciate 🙏 and recommend them to anyone in need of stability while trying to get clean or stay sober. They will provide transportation also to and from there office. Hope's Horizon and their sister company Atom is one of the best rehabilitation centers out there 💯👍. All the conversations that I had with them reassured to me that I was in a safe place when discussing my issues with them and that the confidentiality would not be broken. I was very impressed with the ER nurse who took care of me. Lovely blonde lady from New Mexico, it was around midnight. She had me in a room quickly and kept me calm throughout the experience. Unbelievably nice. Explained everything. Showed me a lot of dignity as a patient. I was admitted and was equally impressed with my nurse (from Howard County - Melissa or Nicole maybe?!) who cared for me as well as the CNA’s who were so sweet. I received great care. I requested a room change due to noise and was accommodated. Doctors didn’t engage with me very much but that’s ok, the nursing staff had it! From the moment I got on the phone with them, I felt like someone actually heard me . They didn’t push me or judge me—just straight up helped me figure out what I needed. The place had a super chill energy, kind of like a breath of fresh air after all the chaos I’d been through .What hit different was the way they blended structure with real understanding. It wasn’t just "do this, follow that"—they actually asked what worked for me. Big win. I got my head clear, my heart a little lighter, and finally feel like I’m not stuck anymore 🎧.

Just go and find out for yourself 🚕🏃♂️

I literally owe my life to Hope's Horizon and all of the amazing staff there. Getting sober is one of the hardest things to do. It's a complete reset of your life. It gets a little less difficult each day, but it's never easy. I couldn't have done it without everyone there though. What's sad is that so many veterans have no idea that this hospital is available for the treatment of PTSD, Drug/Alcohol Addiction, Bi-Polar Disease, Anxiety and more - for FREE. Meetings are available daily, and in addition to psychological assistance, medical physicians are available too. The hospital is spotless, you can choose the food you'd like to eat for 3 meals a day, and it tastes 😋 good. Excellent experience. I was called in when my appointment was scheduled on all occasions. I'm impressed by how thorough my PCP (Dr. S) was, and with the level of follow-up I received. Thank you for your support!

CAM has by far been the best program I’ve been on. I was at another program (Cherryhill) for years & that place Hod change your whole energy. I would go in happy, come out in a horrible mood! There were a few good people there like Mrs. Hope & Nurse Michelle & a few good counselors, but at CAM, everyone has been amazing! From the beautiful woman at the front to the nurses & counselors, I am grateful for each one of them. I’ve been clean for 14 years & continue to be clean because of CAM.

Columbia, Maryland | Located in Columbia, Maryland, Kolmac Integrated Behavioral Health is a drug and alcohol treatment center for adults. They offer various recovery services such as detox, partial hospitalization and intensive outpatient care. Specialized programs are also available for LGBTQIA+ individuals and veterans. Home Based Virtual Detox Services In contrast | Treatments Programs Payment Options | Would HIGHLY recommend exploring treatment options with Kolmac if you’re ready to step into your recovery. ❤️🩹 I completed the 90(ish) day IOP program attending online group sessions three times a week for three hours in addition to individual medical appts/medication management and individual treatment plan planning. I had the incredible pleasure of working with Lisa S as my group counselor. She was professional, compassionate and understanding of the needs of her group members. She maintained a healthy and safe environment for us to all lean into the process at our own pace and found ways to relate to everyone regardless of situation. My medical/medication management was also all handled via telehealth. I felt heard when discussing my apprehension to some medications and was made to feel like the process to improve my health and the decisions being made around it were collaborative. Katelyn was my individual counselor and assisted me with developing my treatment plan. She is an absolute sweetheart and though early in her career was able to provide guidance and encouragement that felt beyond her years. I am actively transitioning to their continuing care program and look forward to seeing how far I can go with such a strong team behind me. 97 days!!!

In Maryland, specialty addiction treatment programs cater to individuals with distinct recovery needs. Whether it’s support for trauma, co-occurring conditions, or identity-specific challenges, many facilities offer customized care to improve outcomes. Learn more about the variety of specialized addiction recovery programs available in Maryland.
Inpatient substance use disorder treatment provides 24/7 supervision in a licensed facility while receiving intensive, evidence-based therapies. Programs may offer medically supervised detox as well as individual and group therapy and mental health support. This environment helps individuals focus entirely on recovery, away from factors that trigger drug or alcohol use, under the guidance of a team of clinicians.
Detoxification is the first step in treating substance use disorder, focusing on removing harmful substances from the body. Maryland medical teams monitor patients closely to address withdrawal symptoms and reduce health risks. This short-term but critical phase prepares individuals for ongoing treatment by stabilizing them physically and supporting them emotionally during detox.
Outpatient treatment allows Maryland residents to attend regular counseling and group therapy sessions while living at home. It supports recovery by integrating treatment into daily routines. This level of care works well for those with stable home environments and focuses on relapse prevention, behavioral change, and long-term support strategies.
Alcohol treatment addresses the physical, psychological, and behavioral effects of alcohol use disorder. Maryland residents may require medical detox, followed by therapy, relapse prevention, and support groups. Treatment settings may include inpatient or outpatient programs. The goal is long-term sobriety through personalized care and evidence-based interventions tailored to individual needs.
Treatment for opioid use disorder usually includes medication-assisted treatment (MAT) with FDA-approved medications such as buprenorphine, methadone, or naltrexone. These help reduce cravings and withdrawal symptoms for Maryland residents. Combined with therapy and support services, treatment promotes sustained recovery and reduces the risk of overdose and relapse.
