The staff were mostly kind, professional, and I liked that they offered family sessions too. We joined in on some education meetings which really helped me feel included. Sherry Jackson-Cooper 4 weeks ago I put 5 stars because of what you do for people, I am posting this review in attempts of finding volunteering options in Gallatin Tennessee for my peer recovery certification, I now have a chance to do something great with my life, unfortunately I do not have the best transportation and was told the only I mean literally only place I can volunteer is at Centerstone's Madison location! I have contacted everyone even Volunteer Behavioral Health and they said Murfreesboro, I have over ten years of sobriety from street drugs and alcahol and I just think it is a shame that Gallatin Tennessee has no options, I would be willing to pick up patients for appointments or do whatever anyone needs help with, I could visit patients struggling with addiction or mental issues! I know now why not many people get their peer recovery certification now because it is so hard to find volunteering options! I think it is shameful, but at least you offer it in Madison so thank you but it just seems my story and my willingness to help other's could somehow help at the Gallatin location as well! The staff was very helpful and understanding. Life 3 months ago I highly recommend Cumberland Mental Health as your health care provider for your mental health needs or whatever type of services you're seeking help with. I myself have been a patient of Cumberland Mental Health for quite some time.. years.. I started off going to the Hendersonville location yrs bk when I lived out that way,, which I also have nothing but great things to say about that location as well. I've also been to the Gallatin location. Their staff is amazing!! Always SO fiendly, informative, helpful, & there to greet you with a smile as you walk in... There's nothing worse then going into a Dr.s office (where post people would rather go/be anywhere else but the doctors.. lol) & not being greeted at all, or being given the stare down face that gives the look of the ole "Who are you? Why are you here? What do you want..?!" kinda face... lol!🙃 Ugh that's the worst! No worries for that when you walk into any of the Cumberland Mental Health offices! I can assure you of that!😉 Front desk staff are always so sweet, helpful, & get you checked in in a timely organized fashion.. No chaos, confusion , or waiting to be seen for hours past your appointment time.. I can say in all honesty I've never had to wait longer then 10 to 15mins at the most to be called back. That's a huge deal for us mommy's, working moms (& dads), or all humans in general.. We all have things to do, & places to be.. So sitting in a doctor's office waiting room is never ideal for anyone. At the same time, things do happen & I always understand when a Dr. or therapist is running behind one day or overflowed with patients/appts.. I get it. They're doing their jobs & they're doing it to the best of their ability to help all of us. So for me personally. So to wrap this up... I personally love Cumberland Mental Health & all their staff. Not just my provider... the secatorial ladies, the nurse, the therapist/case workers who never fail to always take a few minutes to tlk with me, ask me if I'm doing well, or if I need anything! Epiphany felt different in that the clinical work seemed designed to address causes rather than just manage symptoms. The CBT and REBT work helped me identify thought patterns I'd been inside for so long they'd started to seem like facts. The ACT piece helped me figure out what I was actually trying to get to, not just what I was trying to get away from. And the experiential elements — including the equine therapy, which I was skeptical about going in — reached emotional material through a completely different entry point than talking about things. None of it was easy, and nothing about the program was designed to make it easy. What it was designed to do was give enough structure, enough clinical support, and enough different ways in that I could actually move forward rather than just get through each day. The Hendersonville location felt right too. Comfortable, not clinical — close enough to Nashville to be accessible but removed enough from my usual environment to actually feel different. While I did not immediately pursue lasting recovery afterwards- I firmly believe the seeds of recovery were planted there. I am almost at 3 months for the first time! I made 89 days and lost it to a simple misunderstanding. Having the right Sponsor is key to success! I just wanted to say THANK YOU so much for doing these events that bring clean fun into recovery! I had only ever done the rafting once before 9 years ago and I knew health-wise this would be my last chance to do it once more. I had so much fun, I felt comfortable letting go and relaxing in an awesome lodge with great food and even better people. I think I absolutely LOVED the campfire side meetings the most and getting to let things burn in the fire and then letting them "disappear" from me with the smoke... Thanks to everyone who was there and who helped make it my 1st but hopefully not my last amazing experience with them! There were I believe like 60 of us, from all different walks of life and all but 3 were "strangers" to me when I got there and family when I left...The employees are some of the most down to earth, hard working yet friendly and recovery driven people I've met in my 9 years since getting clean. That weekend I felt so welcome, included and just part of the family and I'll keep those memories forever!
