I cannot begin to explain how helpful The Living Room was to me during my time there. There are specific people that brought me back to life and continued to help with my recovery everyday. The process there is beautiful, being in the sunroom and mudroom allowed a great deal of thinking and connection. Mediation was something I thought was not needed, after being there, it changed my life. It is now a huge part of my recovery. Without the kindness and love in there at The Living Room, I would not be where I am today with such willpower. It was truly a wonderful experience.
Clayton was SUPERIOR in every aspect of assisting me on this journey. I have never encountered a tech so helpful, so organized, and so kind in my life. Without Clayton, I don’t think I would be where I am with my time spent at A Friend’s Place sober house. He was always available, present, and had great words of wisdom that I carry with me everyday. He instilled willpower in me and ran great groups with such passion. He truly is meant for this field and I am thankful I got to witness it.
Terbett changed my life with family and personal therapy. I would not be where I am with my family without her work. I have truly never been with a better therapist than Terbett. The groups she runs are phenomenal and every session helps heal. She is a wonderful serving woman that is a huge asset to The Living Room.
Justina was a big help with case management and a warm embrace when I came in the door. I felt so comfortable being there and she helped me anytime I needed.
Kristen! The BEST administrator I have ever met! Each day walking in the door, Kristen brought positivity and light to each of us. She is very kind and helpful, such a light at The Living Room.
Barb is hands down the best nurse practitioner I have ever encountered! She thoroughly asks questions and actually cares about each patient. Thank you for all of your hard work and consideration!
I miss everyone dearly, but am thankful to be where I am today with the assistance of The Living Room. Thank you!!!

Words could not express how eternally grateful I am to have found The Living Room.
The holistic approach to recovery really makes TLR unique. As someone who was previously uncompromising in her refusal to adopt spirituality and the concept of a "higher power" that is so frequently repeated among recovery networks, my views have been transformed by the wisdom that Dr Leming has to share. TLR has lived up to its motto "All parts welcome", and through meditation, I have gotten to know and understand parts of myself which I had previously rejected and dismissed. Rather than focusing on the addiction as one would in traditional medical approaches, the emphasis is on the person as a whole and the parts that we are comprised of.
The carefully hand-picked staff all have so much character and spunk, and there is never a dull moment during group sessions, from the wild humor that has me laughing until tears form, to the profound wisdom and guidance imparted by group facilitators who have similarly struggled with addiction. Despite the different walks of life that the patients come from, the dynamic is very much that of a family, and the staff are committed to fostering and encouraging supportive relationships among patients that further contribute to sobriety. From the moment I stepped into TLR, I was treated as an individual, and I was welcomed with a warmth that assured me that I would be in good hands. I was able to fully focus on my treatment and recovery, thanks to the staff's generosity and commitment to help me with other troubles in my life, from the life-saving to the mundane (playing barista whenever I wanted coffee during group!)
Even on an aesthetic level, TLR manages to outclass with stunning visuals. The decor of the sun and mud rooms beautifully set the atmosphere for group sessions, from the cheery, spirited energy of the sun room, to the introspective, meditative aura that washes over you as you step through the doors of the mud room.
TLR will always have my heartfelt thanks, and to anyone struggling with addiction, this place will be my one and only recommendation.

A licensed therapist kindly returned my call the same day and spent the better part of an hour listening to my experiences. She made sure to take the time to understand the kind of care I might need and point me in the right direction. It was very clear to me that their main concern was my mental health above all else. This is model behavior for a counseling service in my opinion and I would happily recommend their services to anyone searching for professional counseling.
