Don’t listen to these poor reviews. This place gave me my life back! The staff was super attentive, caring, and compassionate, but they can only do so much. Don’t go if you’re not 100% committed. I have recommended Watcom to several folks since my stay 6 months ago and they have all had success. I was treated more kindly than I probably deserved, and I will never forget my experience. Thank you to the staff and volunteers! If you’re ready to make the change, They will help you.

I attended vision in year of 2014. This treatment facility would quite remember me. During my stay there was alot of difficulties I delt with and made a slight commotion. This isn't a luxury stay, your housed with girls from all round the state, and it's a privilege based rewards to go outside. It's designed to make you think about how you want to change your life and never experience your freedom being taken from you again. There was no English music, birthdays got celebrated (a slice of cake for each girl), the year I was in we all had such good behavior as a group we had an olympics and went outside often. We were only allowed basic Hanes gray crew neck, t-shirt and sweats. Only time your not in that if it's summer they provide knee length shorts, and if your put on suicide watch. For obvious reasons they need to watch out for self harm. Every meal you dine with two units. Once your out of main unit you get clothing privileges, outing privileges, and meetings once a day, horse riding. I'm truly thankful for visions. I know many girls that led healthy beautiful life's that went through this program. This program could use donations or fundraising for better supplies/clothing for the girls. That's the only thing I could say negative about this place.

I was here september 18th- december 19th 2022 which is only 3 months and is way shorter than how long i was supposed to be there. im about a year and a half clean from my doc, which i never thought i was gonna do. but being in visions was rough. not being to touch anybody at all, rarely being able to go outside, not being able to wear your own clothes for the first 4-6 months and having the exact same weekly schedule for 3 months did take a toll on my mental health and kinda drive me crazy. the first month was the worst. but then month 2 and three were better. i got used to the place and the people in it. either way if you dont wanna be helped and changed then this isnt going to work. and you arent going to stay clean. but if you do want to change and get better then you have to put in the work to do so. getting a good priv, doing all your treatment work, talking openly to your therapists. this place is really hard work, but it is effective if you want it to be.- anna

Lake whatcom helped my son when the governmentsystems failed. He has done so much better. The place isn't perfect, they are as perfect as they can be, considering all they do. Initially my son thought it was the best place because of the bad state he was in. Now that he is better his expectations are higher and doesn't think it is as good. I remind him how much Lake Whatcom helped and how bad things were prior. He is better now so it looks different now. They still saved his life and helped when all the other systems in place failed. I appreciate what they have done and it is definitely not an easy service to provide.

Mount Vernon, WA Community-based Outpatient Clinic (MV CBOC) has some of THE BEST service I have experienced in healthcare and I want to specifically give a shout out to the newer gal in labs as well as the entire Sequoia Team. These folks really do try to meet and exceed the same sorts of expectations I felt we all tried to meet or exceed in the Navy which were rooted in the premise that, whatever it is, we "leave it better than we found it." Add to that philosophy a general approach of compassion, curiosity, persistence and kindness and you get a wonderful mix I wish all Skagitonians could feel in all pursuits of better health for themselves. I do not typically write reviews or post publicly and I want to share this mostly because people doing superb work are not always seen for their hard work because they are also people who push boundaries and tend to establish new standards in doing so. Some folks don't like it when standards change because they have to up their game. I am VERY fortunate to benefit directly from the VA's overall Continuous Improvement Measures and I am EXTREMELY PROUD to have SUCH PROFESSIONALS providing this five-star service direct to our community's veterans and THANK YOU MVCBOC for not stopping at getting the job done, but for pushing to show us all what quality healthcare COULD be. Thank you to you all!

They were helpful, has some 'in clinic' medical items, and were happy to provide additional information on the medical care that I was entitled to. I was myself a patient at this place from late July to mid September. From the first day, the staff were not only friendly...and I can name them all by name, and point out every one of their special qualities..but the point of my review is to praise all the staff for their team work, not individual work..but an ability to maintain the peace, despite attitudes of different individuals, and provide a safe and comprehensive atmosphere to begin a new life, not simply sober...but a better person while being sober. The place is amazing.

Here we go~My name is Joseph Romero. I've lived in Mount Vernon most my life. Almost 50 years! Wow! Anyways I can't say enough good stuff about this place and other Skagit Regional Clinics and the Nurses and Doctors that work there. The last 3 or so years for me have been basically a trip to see the doc about this or that. What can I say~Yaya I know! Gettin older~:) The Doctors that work for Skagit Regional are top notch! Period! From the first office visit I have never been treated so nicely and just had that feel of comfort and knowledge when talking to the Doctors there. I like that they treat you very well but they are very straight forward and simple about things and tell ya how it is. And the way they break it down is easy to understand i tell myself thats exactly what i was thinkin. :)I've seen a few~Sleep medicine,Ear Nose and Throat~( Hi Doctor Mullen! ) :) I've also been seen at the Skagit Gastroenterology center and the clinics Orthopedic center and the Physical therapy department. All very nice and knowledgeable and are easy to talk too. Thank you all! Really, you guys are doin a Great Job! I HIGHLY recommend Skagit Regional Clinics to people I know that may be looking for a Doctor. They have all came back with nothing but good things to say. Stay Healthy! ~Peace!

So upset this treatment center is closing!! Typical corporate decision. I am alive today because of their treatment. Clean & sober for 15 years with no desire to drink, do drugs, and/or binging on both. The comments from the new owners were disrespectful and ignorant about the process. Treatment is not easy in any program, but if it saves lives why end it. Shame on you Universal Healthcare! Many lives will be lost by closing this hospital.

I feel like it needs to be said that no one will kick an addiction in 10 days. Even the traditional 28 days won't end the addiction. There are no shortcuts to the life long journey you are embarking on, if you choose sobriety. What Schick does - is give you the tools, and take away the cravings so you can handle this huge life shift. I have been abusing alcohol for 8 years and finally decided I needed professional help. Schick is working so far for me. I've been 81 days sober as of today. What the treatment is like: There is a daily schedule of meds, vitals, and group. You will spend the mid morning through mid afternoon either completing a sleepy (propofol conscious sedation treatment where they ask you a series of questions related to getting sober, and staying sober) and counseling, or a duffy (ipecac aversion treatment where they give you ipecac and then have you drink alcohol. you quickly become ill to associate drinking with nausea.). Late afternoon are various groups. Pros: -The medical director at the hospital is a true patient advocator. Sabrina is incredible. -The community. I felt safe sharing in group, and gained some friends I imagine will be with me for life. -The counselor John. I've been going to therapy the past ten years, but HE is my favorite person I've talked through my mental health with. Compassionate, empathetic, just a good listener, and has great life advice. He's been there done that, and helped me see some great perspective. His lectures are also my favorite. -The program. Schick gives all of the same literature that any other rehab gives, but also has the aversion therapy, and sedation treatment. -The resources. The media wall, the counselors, the lectures, the movies, the hypnosis videos, the 4 agreements, etc. There are so many resources it was hard to take them all in. But theyre all powerful and have continued to help me outside of Schick. Cons: -The nursing staff. For the most part I didn't have a problem. But some of the staff had no bedside manner whatsoever. Some said misogynistic comments. Some did room checks late at night with little regard to patients sleeping. Some argued with other nurses in front of me. Either the nurse was great or the nurse was pretty unprofessional. And I didn't see much inbetween. -Not a diverse group at all. As a black queer female I felt out of place here. It's mostly white men in their 30s and 40s.

I had a truly positive experience with the Radiology Department at the Seattle VA Hospital. From the moment I checked in, every staff member I encountered was professional, courteous, and efficient. The front desk team made the process feel smooth and organized, which helped ease any nerves I had walking in. The technicians were calm, respectful, and clearly experienced. They explained each step in a way that was easy to understand, and they were attentive to comfort and safety throughout. I never felt rushed or overlooked — something that unfortunately can happen in busy medical environments, but not here. The radiologist tech took the time to thoroughly gather my images and made sure my questions were answered without condescension or hurry. It was clear that patient care and communication are priorities in this department. It’s easy to criticize large systems like the VA, but this team deserves recognition. Their professionalism and compassion stood out, and I left feeling well cared for and genuinely seen as a patient, not just a number. Grateful for the work they do.

I've been establishment in 3 separate VA hospitals and I have a few issues I've been dealing with that requires consistent care. Of the 3, my experience with Puget has been fantastic. I can't say the same about the other two. I want to give high praise specifically to the pharmacy techs. After switching my seizure meds, they called and ensured I was on the right track and was very informative. I've spoken with about 4 separate techs at this establishment and they've all been absolutely delightful to speak with. They've always gone above and beyond to make sure I was set straight and fixed any issue I might be having. I had communication issues with my personal care team (who had ignored me for an entire week) who went back and forth with the pharmacy until the issue was fixed. This was at 4:50 P.M on a Friday when everyone gets off work, but the tech (I wish I remembered her name,) was determined to fix this issue no matter what. I have absolutely nothing negative to say about my experience with this team and I appreciate all your efforts. Any of the heads read this, you should take that team out for lunch or give them a bonus.

Newport saved our daughter and set our family on a stable path to recovery. Last fall we were losing our daughter to mental health challenges, PTSD and increasingly unsafe behaviors. It took 3 tries to get her to commit to Newport, but after the first few weeks of adjustment, she made more therapeutic progress with the team at Newport than in all of the other interventions we've tried to date (years of CBT therapy, DBT skills, and peer groups) . We are now 3 months out from her discharge and we still have moments of stress but Newport put us back on the same team in terms of addressing challenges together and we have been super impressed with how our 15yo is using skills to navigate the tough moments. We are extremely grateful to the Newport team for everything they did to get through to our child and earn her trust in their process.

It’s been 3 years since our son was at Newport. And it’s been a long road. However 3 years later he is thriving and growing in ways I could only dream. Everything we have learned from Newport we use today. It’s absolutely everything we needed for our son and as a family. Beyond grateful
