While it is true that sometimes we feel the VA may take a bit longer on the administrative end, so what! The people are great and have always, ALWAYS done right by us! I believe my husband receives the best care, delivered by the best professionals possible through this VA office. Nothing lacking. All referrals are handled in a timely manner. I have three specialists downtown, so I rarely ever have to go the Prescott VA, plus we have a decent hospital in Kingman. I do have some accute health care issues, but have always been taken care of well. I will rate the Kingman clinic 5 outta 5. Thanks for all the good work. Steven Nolan is a great guy who has helped me in many ways and takes time iut of his day just to check on me....Harrison is the case manager and he knows excatly what to do and say. My therapist Allen my therapist makes me feel so comfortable and John who I finally met today was amazing. He took time to sit down with me and asked me If I was okay.. I mean… if you have to go to a treatment centre— and this was my first and hopefully only time— Carleton/Decision Point is it. Loved my therapists, Jessica and Doug, and case manager Stephen. They really care about you and I am impressed at the progress I made in the 45 days I spent here. Also the nurses are kind and caring and really helped me a lot, especially Dena, Heather, and Katie. The housing and campus at Carleton are beautiful and spacious. The level of independence mixed with care and guidance is a good balance. I can't continue to live this life, I lost the one person that loved me my best friend my husband. Me n him were supposed to sober up together n get our kids back but then he went missing ,but he was found but not the way I last saw him. That was the worst day of my life finding that he was no longer wit us, I can't keep living this drug life my kids lost there dad n I don't need them to lose me too. I need my kids more then they need me. When they made the questionable decision to let me be house leader, which basically meant I became the unofficial CEO of “Did You Do Your Chores and Why Not.” “HURRY UP LETS GO” The daily structure? Aggressive. The accountability? Relentless. The staff? Suspiciously good at knowing when you’re full of it. It’s like they’ve seen this before or something.Somewhere between getting called out, laughing at ourselves, and realizing we can’t outsmart basic honesty, things actually started working. Annoying, but effective. I came in thinking I was already squared away. I left realizing I was… slightly less of a disaster, but now with tools, habits, and a solid crew of people who watched me pretend I had it together until I actually did. M 1 year ago I just transferred to the northern AZ VA system and I have been floored with how great and attentive they've been. I have mental health issues and the primary Prescott location has been super quick to get me in and talking to someone. The psychiatrist I talked to listened to me and suggested some things for me to try. I am now on a weekly therapy and different meds, when I asked them to check in after I start the meds they scheduled weekly appointments. I had my labs done last week, super quick and really easy going tech. Today I saw nurse Sara and she was lovely! Completely at ease and fun to chat with. I then saw Dr Gallagher and she was delightful. She knew my records, she asked questions and she offered some other treatment options for me. She made sure I had the assistance and appointments all down correctly and said if I need anything to reach out. I've been in the VA system for about a decade and this has been the best experience so far. Oakwood GA clinic was great but cottonwood has surpassed them. Thank you all for being there.
