I wanted to post a review that is five stars because that is exactly what Fort Lyon deserves, not because it has five star amenities or because it is perfect, but because without this place I would probably be dead. I was a resident for nine months in 2023. I was in a hopeless state of mind, body, and spirit. After losing my professional career and everything else, I found myself moving here. Fort Lyon is a place where you can live safely, and focus on true recovery and healing. If that is what you want. To be completely transparent, most negative comments are from people who are not ready for what it takes to turn your life around. It is not fun and you don't normally get your way, but I learned that is LIFE. I gained back ALL I had lost and so much more. Thanks to God ultimately, but also to this place and a program I work everyday. I am now over three years sober from all substances, and if you knew my entire story you would agree it is a miracle. Fort Lyon does not hand you recovery, but it provides all the tools you need to get it for yourself. Much thanks to all the staff, especially Sabrina, Tosha, Laura, Randy, and Lisa T.

I attended their inpatient addiction treatment program, Crestone Residential Treatment Services (CRTS) in 2019-2020. This was the best experience I've had at a treatment center. Their entire staff was nothing but supportive and helpful time and time again (Carol was my fave 😁), and their way of showing each of their patients that they were genuinely invested in each of us and our success seemed effortless, second nature. I stayed for 60 days and didn't have a single negative experience that entire time (except for when Shah's Kababs came around again on the meal schedule and the staff decided to order from a different place knowing I was counting down the days before I could order another Falafel Sandwich.... But I guess we can leave it in the past)
I'm only leaving a comment now because I've been recommending CRTS Everytime I discuss treatment with a friend ever since and when i needed inpatient again last year I tried to reach out but never got a response and one friend was told they had closed. . So if this is correct can you guys please remove it from your list of provided services or add a note about how CRTS is no longer offered, or any type of clear confirmation? I've searched the internet for hours on at least 3 different occasions looking for something. I never get called back when leaving messages.

When I came here they took me off of my heart medication, which were very expensive pills, and they didn’t even list the pills on my medication sheet. Also, they signed me up for therapy post release, but never provided me with referral information later. I happened to find out by accident later when I went on my own to the place they had referred me to. This was a hugely frustrating experience for someone who is trying to navigate the mental health field for the first time.
I was in my clothes for multiple days even when I asked for new scrubs and the place was filthy. The sizing was hugely off and they should have given new scrubs daily with how much they were getting from insurance. This place isn’t quality or sanitary.

The staff really make this place. Specific techs to give a shout out to: Matt, Lee, Remy, Liam. All of them care a ton. Matt takes his job extremely seriously and is very passionate about mental health as well as psychology and it shows. Lee has a kind, warm spirit that's very easy to be around. Remy is going to make an amazing therapist someday. She has a great vibe that any person there can connect with and her care for the people she's helping shows tremendously. Liam is very loving as well. Allison is also a very kind tech. Also shout out to Tammy - she’s truly so great, and so herself.
Bre and Sarah are both amazing ET therapists. Bre is incredibly insightful, caring, intuitive, and loving to every person she comes across through the groups she runs. They both have their own way of running things through music and art that makes it engaging for others to want to participate in.
Donna is truly one of the greatest group therapists I have ever come across. She genuinely loves her job and is placed in the right vocation and it shows through her work. She cares that everyone is getting real help and she won't BS anyone.
Char the Nurse Practitioner loves serving people and it also shows. She will sit with her clients and make them feel like you are on top of the world because of how highly she thinks of each person she helps and works with. Dr. Thompson is also a phenomenal, caring Dr. as well.
Other staff to mention: Madison, and Jeremy. Both very caring.
If you are seeking real help and want quality care you will find people here who care about you and will help you reach your goals.

I have been trying my hardest to get my own documents for my mental health to get accommodations for college and I had the college fax the form they need for their records but I can’t get a hold of anyone to make sure that the fax came through. I have called twice today which you guys say you’re open until 5 and each time I have been on hold for ten minutes to only get myself the voicemail. I have never had such a hard time getting a hold of a psychiatrists office to get my own documents for something that is massively important to me and needs to be done in a timely manner. I don’t understand why emails can’t be used as fax is not something that most places use anymore. When something like accommodations need to be in place for me to do well in school due to my mental health this is unprofessional and really hard for me to want to come back.

Much laughter, many tears (I’m an emotional person) and the feeling of finally finding a safe space where all of the things that I share stay there. This place changed me for the better. My room and shower was way better than I expected, I felt comfortable in my room for my entire 6 day stay. The food was good. My daily schedule consisted of 4 groups a day, seeing a prescriber for medication and seeing a therapist to talk about my day. This daily routine helped me tremendously. Before I came here, I was crying at least one a day and my sleep schedule was messed up. The first night I was here, my sleep schedule was fixed in an instant and I only cried once during my 6 day stay. This place changed me and the other people who were there would tell you the exact same thing. Everyone I met was incredibly nice to me, the nurses, therapists, group leaders and especially the other people I met in there who we're trying to get their mental health together like me. I could comfortably talk about my state of mind without being judged. This place needs its praises. If you're struggling, please go here.
