There are no amount of words I could give for the gratitude I have for what this place is giving me back to me in my life. I am truly grateful. To me there is no amount of money that could ever give me what I retained here at mending fences. This place has been absolutely PRICELESS! I went to Mending Fences to get help with my debilitating anxiety. From the time I arrived at the facility I was met with friendly and compassionate staff. The admission process was very professional, very timely and the staff made me feel safe.
Concerning the program, Mending Fences focused on a personal track of a healing process designed specifically for me. I was assigned a Therapist (shout-out to Jeremy) who patiently worked with me to guide me through the healing process. Every therapists that led groups were dedicated to making learning different modalities wether - CBT, ART, OUTSIDE ACTIVITIES, EXERCISE AND MUSIC - Fun and engaging!
From playing volleyball, shooting basketball hoops, bon fires and even an open mic night!
Unfortunately, due to a health issue I had to leave the program - this was very disheartening for me - but the Psychiatrist , therapists and staff made the exiting process a great experience for me! Just to mention, these people try to accommodate me so that I could continue the program - it amazed me how much effort they put in - thanks 🙏
One last thing the facility and the grounds were beautiful! One last thank you to all the staff, techs , therapists and Doctors who helped me 🙏🙏

Gainesville, FL | UF Health Shands Psychiatric Hospital, located in Gainesville, Florida, provides alcohol and drug rehab services, dual diagnosis treatment, and mental health services to children, adolescents, and adults in an age-specific format. Detoxification and inpatient services are available. The detoxification program is a medically monitored program that | Treatments Programs Payment Options | As soon as I calm down & get hydrated, and comfy and clean in my bed, my experiences at Uf Health Shands Vista have become quite pleasant; as long as I can find people who can understand, trust, and believe me. Multiple trips outside and keeping a healthy diet ; looking forward to the meal, shower, and sleep times ; listening to music, staying busy with writing & drawing, attending every group, and sharing my experiences with people who understand is very beneficial for my mental health. I am a longtime Uf Health & Shands patient, as I am a native Gainesville, Floridian. First, I would just like to mention in the mental health department… some employees, can or will not show empathy , which can make the experience quite disheartening & difficult to find happiness or make healthy progress.Miss ‘Lauren Hertell’ was rude to my mother and I when she visited me . She said loudly and I quote “You’re on your own mama” . And laughed. I was also verbally & physically threatened by a very tall, large fellow who almost reached the ceiling in stance. they didn’t remove him until the next night. I could hardly sleep. There was also a tech who wore a bun that would smirk & laugh at me before she went home for the night. I was put on phone restriction for days for accidentally dialing 911. We had to dial 9-1 before calls and unfortunately, I never received any notifications about any calls, which would have made my day. Now, all the honorable mentions: Huge shoutout to Miss Laura who hunted down an important phone number for me. Hi, Barbie! (Barbara), Britney, Mr ‘Joe’ , Miss Karen, Gabriel, Ben, Laura, Danny, Dorian (Grey) , Tre, Miss Vilma, Miss Mia, Jacqueline, etc.. everybody. Also my sweet nurse who went and found me contact solution when I needed it.Thank you guys; from the techs, housekeepers, doctors, RN’s, and of course Dr Moore and Dr Solomon… By the end of my stay, I can healthily & properfly communicate with the staff and they show me kindness & respect back. It’s just a lonely place if you are alone or don’t have familial support. Thank you all and with all due respect, I hope to never HAVE to see you again.

First the positives: Most of the nurses are incredibly nice, caring and accommodating to requests. My therapist Laura, and the weekday Psychiatrists were great! Unlike other reviews, I had multiple people review my concerns about medication and I had many people discuss the options with me and the concerns that I had. Particularly related to the potential long-term brain effects that I had heard research about increasing your risk of Alzheimer's. Ultimately, the decision was to start with a very low dose, which I was welcome to try and discontinued if I had any unpleasant side effects. It was very much a collaborative, non pressured approach to medication. We had two wireless phones available for 7 am to 10 pm and could provide a list of approved callers. In fact, (I witnessed) if you did not have someone on your list, they would not confirm or deny that you were there, but they would make note of that person's call, share that they had called, and would ask the patient if they were interested in adding that person to their list. They, had some games, puzzles. The negatives, and how they were managed: The intake process was very long, I get the impression it's very difficult for them to determine when the "busy time" for intake will be. Your introduction to your "pod" for a lack of a better term, (definitely has prison vibes) was horrible. Getting a "skin check" which was just short of a strip search was logical, but not comfortable. The fact that it was co-ed was immediately off-putting to me, I didn't know the schedule,
and I didn't Initially feel safe. A nurse should have come to explain the schedule or provided a welcome pamphlet explaining things. The would have been very helpful. I did have a psychology fellow come speak with me which helped put me at ease. I did not get one second of sleep the first night. The prison type bed was extremely uncomfortable. I was near the nurses station and for whatever reason between the hours of 10:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. that room was entered or exited at least a hundred times. The loud door was awful. In their defense the kind nurse did offer melatonin but I didn't feel safe so I didn't want it. This caused me to be incredibly anxious, very frustrated, and resistant to opening myself to the process. My door was opened at least 3 times per hour to check on me for safety. I felt a camera would make more sense. However, when I shared my issues, I received a pad for my bed, ear plugs, and melatonin. Then I slept great! I got a lot out of group time, which helped everyone feel more comfortable with each other. The food in one word was "mediocre." I am interested in nutrition so I can definitely say you get plenty of food, and there are some relatively nutritious options but overall it's pretty much hospital food. With a little bit of junk food mixed in. They allow very little outside time which is a bad idea, everyone wanted outside time. The weekend had less scheduled time which left people bored. My therapist managed to scrounge up a note book but many people said the would benefit from journaling. A case manager said she would resolve that issue and agreed saying "we usually have journals." Overall, I think people can choose to get something out of this setting if you understand that most of the things are designed for safety.

It was the most stressful and anxiety inducing week of my life having a child in there, but they were kind, helpful, and supportive providing the help my child needed. I was there for possible blood infection and septicemia. All though I waited for 9 hours in the waiting room and then 11 hours in the ER room itself, every nurse and Dr was polite and courteous. Apologized for the long wait to get to my room in the Med/Surgery unit. The nurses and Drs on the floor were professional and great to help me for the whole 9 days I was there. From the volunteers to case managers to the patient advocate, all combined to give me a great experience. The only thing that I did not like was the phlebotomists blew almost every vein I had. They had to call the vascular team to come in a get an I.V. started. Other than that, it was cool. Tyvm for a great experience in healthcare. Appreciate it and GBY.

Metamorphosis literally saved my life.
I was court ordered to be at meta through drug court. The rules and 'tattling' is very contradictory to what addicts are used to. The purpose is to learn to hold other accountable for their actions. AA and NA did nothing for me. Bridgehouse did nothing for me. Meta was the only place to recognize what was causing me to use and address that.
I graduated in 2012. I am still clean. Almost 9 years now.
Recovery is different for everyone but hold on to the 'keeping secrets' and 'not snitching' behaviors of my using life wouldn't have helped me get this far.
Samantha Roberts
I didn’t like the process when I first arrived. Holding each other accountable seemed a lot more like snitching or tattling than anything helpful. I felt like many things seemed conflict inducing at first for sure. I soon realized I was being provided a structure to implement better decision making during my time there and with that acquiring tools to take with me after leaving treatment. There’s nothing crazy about anything there in my opinion. The rules are the rules and there are consequences if you break them. They provide everything you need and then some. The staff is wonderful and really care about everyone there whether it’s voluntary or court ordered (majority were voluntary when I left a month ago). I needed to stay longer but had to leave due to circumstances at home that had to be addressed. I’ve been to treatment many times and I feel Meta has given me the very best chance to stay clean.I am a tough critic especially towards things that are stopping me from doing what I want. Meta is different for everyone but personally it’s the first place I would recommend to anyone.

really wish i read the reviews before sending my recently ex-fiance + father to my infant child here. I ended things during early PPD because he emotionally checked out when i needed him, long story short he ended up on a bender, needed help, had already tried the rehab route multiple times, sent him here with high hopes from a referral. All i know is i have cried after each phone call with him since day one, and i absolutely cannot believe the way his current therapist, Matt, is handling any of this. He has done some serious damage on the man i love and denied him very important EMDR because i guess it’s better to find out something huge later on than where he’s safe because matt doesn’t want to deal with it i guess? I didn’t think it was possible for my ex to sound worse… especially not like this. i’m grieving the man he was harder now, 42 days in to this program, than ever. He sounds completely brainwashed and heavily medicated, and the fact that i am not being treated like his family when we just were just together birthing our child just 6 months ago, and im the one that sobered him up and begged him to go here , booked it, got him to the air port, all because he wanted another shot at us, and this was the deal for him to get HELP first, then we would start somewhere. it’s been honestly more traumatic than it was before. WHAT ARE YOU GUYS DOING IN THERE ? do all any of you care about is getting them “stable” despite how true or feasible it is or regardless of who gets hurt or if they have to come back? i have walked through several programs along side him in his journey of getting help, and i have never heard this from him. im confused, im heartbroken , im angry at myself for letting him go here, and im furious with this place and mostly, his therapist. He has not answered my ex’s dad even!!! no family sessions brought up, no valuable lessons, nothing i have heard from him that has been helpful in anyway, all my child’s father seems to be doing is hanging out and fratinizing with younger people girls he wouldn’t do that with anywhere else, and spinning the narrative deeper and deeper and going more and more number, right in time for his daughter to enter this world and not understand where dad went. THANKS GUYS HUGE HELP.

They also offer treatment for dual diagnosis mental health conditions. The men's treatment center sits on more than eight acres of land in St. Johns County. Residents have access to sev | Treatments Programs Payment Options | TARC has played a key role in our loved one’s recovery journey. From our very first interaction with Christine, we felt warmth, compassion, and clear guidance. Case manager Tony showed consistent care and patience toward our loved one, and Jon led family meetings that were both helpful and informative. Scott’s passion for helping clients, combined with his own experiences, has been truly inspiring.
TARC is a safe and caring place for anyone seeking sobriety and recovery. The emphasis on healthy eating and fitness training is a powerful part of the program and will leave a lasting positive impact on each individual. The 3-day Family Weekend is especially meaningful and unique—staff like Sara, Andrew, and Tony provided excellent educational sessions, while the time spent together strengthened family bonds in a deep way.
Our loved one has now moved on to a sober-living home in another state for career-related reasons. While we wish he had chosen to stay longer and then continue with TARC’s sober-living program, which we understand is also very strong, we remain deeply grateful for the foundation TARC helped him build.
A big thank-you to all the staff, and to Jason, the owner, for his kind guidance and leadership. God bless you all for the important work you do—saving lives and helping people reclaim their future.

Umatilla, FL | The Recovery Village provides a complete addiction treatment program starting with detoxification through to aftercare with a team of medical, psychiatric, and recovery technicians to oversee the process. Each client has a dedicated counselor to oversee their treatment plan. Clients participate in individual and group therapy. Addiction therapies u | Treatments Programs Payment Options | If I could give this place 0 stars I would. This place is a mess. The med team only works what it seems once every 2 weeks. My daughters therapist has a language and cultural barriers and my daughter now refuses to talk to her and aspire refuses to change her because they deemed it not an issue. Well its an issue if you explain the hole shes standing next to 5 times and she keeps saying she dont understand... it was next to her clearly. The doctor prescribing the meds should retire as he seems to have gone on vacation 2 time since we started seeing him at least according to my case manager and doesnt really care about what my daughters diagnosed with and is going to treat the symtoms he has not observed. Case manager is absolutely wonderful if he was able to do his job however he is leaving now so my new case manager should take over eventually... he was the only one my daughter will talk to. Over a month and shes detoxed on 3 meds and no indication of what we are supposed to do because the doc doesn't like to discuss such things and pushed for a gene sight test which also sat on his desk until he came back from vacay. For a community action team there is little action, community, or team work. Everyone has no idea what's going on and I dont think they ever will. If the doctor would just sign the homebound paperwork that has been on his desk for 3 weeks at least my daughter would be covered for school since she hasn't attended because she in crisis mode with multiple bakeracts in the last couple months. It would be really nice after waiting 9 months for a CAT team and then right back to square one. Like seriously why is it so hard to get help for my daughter. Shame on this establishment.

I completed this program thanks to the nursing staff, Counselor Amber, Counselor Eliana, BHT Greg, and all the other dedicated hard workers here. The cleaning staff stole my sweatpants and T- shirt, that I was not too happy about. I enjoyed this program and it had a lot to offer.

If you ever are ready to get off the drugs you are on, this is the place that will help you get it done. They truly do care and are really trying to help you. Best thing that has happened to me in about 10 years. If you're really ready to get help this is the place to get it. But only if you're ready. Don't waste their time or money. Because if you're not ready I'm sure there's someone else out there who is. So don't take that spot up if you're not serious and ready. Because someone else needs it.
Update; It has been about 6 years and still doing great. It's worth it. If your ready make the call and get the help. They make things so much easier. And make it possible. They have all the tools U need to succeed this time. Good Luck 👌👍😎

A huge thank-you especially to my coordinator Cheryl — she is an absolute angel who fought for me every single day, handled every detail with compassion, and never let me fall through the cracks. Counselor Annie is incredible; her empathy, wisdom, and tough love pulled me out of some of my darkest moments. And Sue the nurse — wow. Her kindness, patience, and clinical expertise made me feel safe and actually cared for, not just treated.
What sets Epic apart is that they never gave up on me, even when I had completely given up on myself. Cheryl, Annie, Sue, and the whole staff truly want your recovery and your best life — it’s not just a job to them, you can feel it. They believed in me until I could believe in myself again.
If you or someone you love needs help, this is the place. I love these women with all my heart and will be forever grateful for Epic Recovery Center.
