She is incredibly knowledgeable, highly educated, and it truly shows in the way she teaches and interacts with her students. What sets her apart is her ability to make people feel comfortable, understood, and safe enough to be vulnerable without fear of judgment. She has a rare gift for balancing education, accountability, compassion, and relatability all at once. Her classes are not only informative, but genuinely impactful. You can tell she truly cares about helping people grow, heal, and better understand themselves and others. I would highly recommend Dr. Wallace to anyone required to take these classes or anyone seeking an instructor who is both professional and deeply compassionate. They are kind, accomodating and respectful. I didn't feel condescended to, nor treated like less of a human being. I felt that the workers set a tone of respect and dignity and support on the unit. The groups were awesome and very well facilitated. I felt like they weren't just there for a paycheck, that they actually cared about doing a good job. I really appreciated the ability to isolate in my room, unlike other facilities that lock the rooms during the day. That was a necessity for me as an autistic person, in order to prevent overwhelm and truly feel safe. Therapy groups could be stressful, but I wasn't forced to attend which I really appreciate. Sean made the intake process feel comfortable and helped ease so much of the fear and anxiety I had coming in. Jay also went above and beyond to help me with supplemental needs like food assistance and getting my Social Security card, which meant so much during such a difficult time in my life. What stood out to me most was how genuinely caring the staff is. Southeast provides so much support during treatment — transportation, cleaning supplies, weekday lunches, and most importantly, a safe environment where you can truly focus on recovery. Many of the techs and group leaders are in recovery themselves, which makes a huge difference because they truly understand what clients are going through. All of the housing and clinical techs are incredible, and I especially want to thank Jenn, Tracy, Edwin, Avery, and Kevin for the support and kindness they showed me. My therapist, Carlie, has also been such an important part of my recovery journey. She has been patient, understanding, and genuinely invested in helping me grow and heal. All of the therapists are wonderful, but I definitely wanted to give mine a special shoutout! I’m so grateful to still be working with her while transitioning into outpatient and sober living. The nurse practitioner and Len also went above and beyond to make sure my individual needs were met and that I felt genuinely supported every step of the way. As the legal guardian of my adult daughter, it has been difficult finding the right help that i am comfortable with to help her on her road to recovery but my recent experience with Ridgeview institute Monroe has been a positive one. I spoke with several behavioral therapists to get an update on my daughter, and they were all very professional, but Coresa Thomas took her duty of care to a higher level that I did not expect. She literally went above and beyond what I think is normal considering her workload to explore every possible resource and placement option for my daughter, maintaining consistent communication with me and acting as a true advocate for our family. And she is a great listener with relevant questions and encouraging responses. She said she would call me back with an update, and that is exactly what she did. It is impressive that she can manage her workload especially considering I am sure there are many more cases like my daughter that she is handling and my family recognizes that she, including the rest of the team, does not have an easy job and we appreciate everything that you do especially in today's world. In addition, she helped manage the process to place my daughter at a different provider for continuation of care and this took a load off of us because we interviewed several providers and got the run around - so I would imagine Coresa and her team had to do the same thing. She did not ask for a review, which is surprising, so I took it upon myself to ask her if it was ok for me to write a review on her level of services. My experience with Coresa at Ridgeview Institute Monroe should be written up as a "best practice" for other providers / institutions to follow as a standard of duty of care for working with those of behavioral and mental health challenges. Navigating behavioral health challenges for a loved one is one of the most difficult experiences a parent can face. From the moment I began working with Coresa, her professionalism and heart shone through. In healthcare, it is rare to find someone who not only performs their job with exceptional competence but also brings profound empathy to every interaction. Coresa’s tireless efforts, transparency, and genuine care have given me and my daughter's mom a tremendous peace of mind during a critical time.
