I've been in therapy for a total of 43 years, 10 of which have been with Kenneth Young. I've only had 2 different therapists and would have kept the first one, however she moved into private practice. I am working with Alyssa now and she has been kind compassionate and great, I adore her. Over the decades and for 15 years I went all the way to Evanston to see a psychiatrist. I loved her and I thought we were getting someplace. The second to the last meeting she dumped a statement, on me of her facts and told me, "I thought you knew." I was stunned, bewildered and beyond disappointed. There is no cure for what I have, no pills only therapy. I read every book on it before our next meeting. I imagined all week, who could I have become, had I known. I went one more time, kissed & hugged her good-bye and knew I would never, ever see her again, and I haven't. She never followed up with me anymore either. I was then lucky enough to find Rebecca, who went into private practice, which is when I was blessed enough to get Alyssa. I have tried the group therapy as well. I haven't seen a psychiatrist for over 23 years now, and don't miss them at all. It is terribly hard to find a person you interact well with and at times it can be exhausting, therapy isn't easy, it also is not for the timid or weak. I have seen by every family member who has never had therapy, nor believes in it, and then I have a point of comparison. I no longer act like them and truly see my growth. I am not the man I used to be, but each day I strive to keep on being a better me, than the day before. I am beyond grateful for all the therapists and psychiatrists over the years, but especially to Kenneth Young!

I was here in December 2019. This place deserves better reviews. It’s clean, productive, and the food decent. I was introduced to mindfulness and meditation before bed. They have a beautiful room with lighting that hangs over you. At night, everyone goes to the reflection room and engage in mindfulness. I’ll never forget looking up at those lights while a counselor guided me through meditation. It made for a very peaceful memory. I will say they lock your personal bathroom during the day to keep you social and out of your room. There is a public restroom that’s always on top shape that everyone uses during the day. These place helped me maintain my sobriety and gave me the meds and tools I needed to stay healthy.

It’s kinda shocking to me this place has such low reviews. I was here last December 2022 and this place saved my life. I will be a year sober in December. It was my first time ever in a residential program and I was beyond scared and almost backed out multiple times, but staying here completely changed my life. I failed every single time I had tried to get sober until I came here. The techs are all great for the most part and really left an impact on me. The ones who stuck out to me the most were Jay, Dustin, and Jilani. Very compassionate people who actually do care. The therapists are also good. I did however come here over other places because I also deal with mental health issues and thought this was a dual program for mental health and substance abuse and the mental health aspect definitely lacked. So don’t come here if that’s what you’re looking for. It’s mainly a substance abuse program in my opinion. But other than that I really do have nothing negative to say. My life has completely changed around in a year and I’ll forever be grateful for my time spent here and would do it all over again but hopefully never will lol

As a provider, I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with SunCloud Health on multiple occasions, and I am consistently impressed with their professionalism, communication, and dedication to patient care. Their team goes above and beyond to ensure that each individual receives truly comprehensive support, with treatment plans that address not just symptoms, but the whole person. What stands out most is their collaborative approach. They value input from outside providers and maintain open lines of communication, which makes continuity of care seamless. I have full confidence in referring people to SunCloud Health, knowing they will receive excellent, personalized care.

My psychiatrist recommended Suncloud because I was going through a really tough time in my life. I was hesitant because I was at another treatment facility and didn't have a great experience. I was pleasantly surprised when I came to Suncloud because the staff were all so kind and genuinely cared about helping you. Their process groups can be tough but are so helpful in working through your trauma. It's been a year now since I started treatment and I can confidently say that I learned the skills and created an amazing support group that have helped me be in such a better place. Even after you're out of treatment, they have an awesome alumni group with plenty of opportunities to connect with others that have gone through similar things. I highly recommend Suncloud.

My wife Kelly Smith is coming to Gateway, the Taylor Street location, within a week or so I hope this is a good place for her. Some questions I have if anyone is kind enough to please answer them for me: 1. Can she bring in a vape pen? (Tobacco) 2. How do phone calls go? 3. How does visiting go? If I don’t have an ID, can I be denied entry? 4. Any helpful advice you have for me to help her adjust when she gets back home? 5. Any tips/ insider info you could give me to tell her to help her stay be more comfortable?! 6. What’s one thing you wish you brought to treatment but forgot? Anything you suggest to bring?? 7. In terms of female counselors, is there one who stands out as the best? Thanks you guys!!! Appreciate all the help and advice and if you see my lil girl Kelly in there be nice! LMAO😅😅😅👍

While being at RCA I met people who genuinely cared about me getting well. I was a little skeptical at first that what I was experiencing was real, but throughout my stay I found that these people genuinely cared. With their help I learned that the only way that I was going to stay well is by connecting with others who are serious about recovery and by participating in my own recovery. I am sober today because RCA was there for me then and is there for me now via Alumni meetings and events. I want to thank all the staff for their professionalism, genuine care and for just being there when I needed help.

This facility is just amazing! Truly felt like everyone cared about me, and I can honestly say I trusted everyone in there. Trust is very hard for me, but the adult program and the staff allowed me to be myself with no judgement. I'm trying so hard to follow the rules and not name any staff but will give a broad review. Right when you walk in the staff is friendly, always smiling which in turn made me smile. The supervisor is amazing; the head of the counselors who leads the group therapy is one of the best people I ever met. The staff that lead the groups cared about me, and it was genuine, and they are so smart and fun. From the psychiatrist to my therapist everyone was on the same page. When I first came to Care Addiction Center, I’ll be honest, I arrived pretty much kicking, screaming and non compliant. I was in a very dark place, but what I found was an organization filled with people who truly care from my counslers Alice and Tori, to my fellow Group members . From the moment I walked in, everyone was accepting, kind, and understanding. Even when circumstances were working against me, like my insurance trying to force me to go elsewhere despite the clear progress I was making, the staff never gave up on me. Matt, who is genuinely dedicated to helping people heal, reassured me not to worry and even offered me a scholarship to continue. His only concern was that I continued to get better. The compassion and support I experienced at Care made all the difference, and I am deeply grateful. The care addiction center is a Life changing, Life saving orginization.

This was my first attempt at asking for help for my alcoholism after 5 decades of drinking. This program is excellent , the counselors are the best at explaining our disease and giving us the tools and knowledge to live a life of sobriety. The manager of Care Addiction is always their to answer any questions or concerns you may have. I definitely suggest this program if you are having issues with addiction to drugs or alcohol. They will sincerely help you and if I can do it there is definite hope for you. I must add the key to becoming sober is listen to the counselors , do what they ask of you and I promise you will be on the road to sobriety! And it is a wonderful feeling and life is awesome!

The outpatient program at Rosecrance has been invaluable to my recovery. Dominique demonstrates an authentic commitment to helping me, and others in the group, maintain our sobriety. Whether it is through therapeutic programming, providing resources to enable our recovery, or just simply by helping navigate confusing financial aid forms, she is all in and wants to see her clients succeed. When Steve has had to fill in, on days Dominique was not here, he did the same. They both really just seem to care…but also hold you accountable if you are not helping yourself. The culture of this program has allowed me the opportunity to really get to know other clients in this programs as well. The friendships I have developed here will stay in my heart forever.

i went here when i was 16 and i thought it was hell on earth. years later there is only one facility in my life that hasn’t left me with nightmares and it is this one. i cook with the skills i learned there and it helped me get confident in the kitchen before i returned home. tomorrow marks half way through my first week of college. i didn’t think i’d make it, but here i am

I went here when I was 14, I am now 20, and I remember my experience there vividly and honestly still have nightmares about this place. I was there for 5 months and only got discharged because my psychiatrist said "they can't help me". That is something that stays in my brain forever, especially back then, I felt hopeless and like no one could help me. It was my 3rd inpatient placement and it was my 2nd to worst, the 4th place I went to was a little worse but they both should be shut down. Anyways, while I was there I had little to no help, the psychiatrist/therapist there at the time was obviously there for the money. She would come dress up in expensive fancy outfits and have expensive handbags, her hair was always done, she wore expensive high heels and walked around loudly. She wasn't a good therapist and I felt like I couldn't trust her. Also while I was there there was a guy psychologist who would be there every few weeks and a few 11-12 year old girls that were there told me that he touched their thighs inappropriately (they were my friends there and they went to me for their problems instead of the counselors because they didn't help them) when it was my turn to see him I felt the pervy vibes and he looked at me weird and tried to grab my thigh too so cussed him out and slapped his hand away, i knocked some papers off his desk too (I was a kid, so I didn't care that that was unnecessary) I was dragged out of his office and he made sure he wouldn't see me again. When I told the counselors about it they said they know that he is like that and that they tried reporting him but nothing happened. Also, we had to move "cottages" while I was there because of bed bugs and we went to an uncleaned empty "cottage" and there was some glass on the floor in my room and one of the reasons I was there was for self harm (cutting) so the glass made it easy to do that, there were a couple of good counselors there but the others were definitely not there to help us, just for the money, and when they found out I cut myself they got mad at me and yelled at me, that is not how you deal with that situation... And while I was there there was a older guy (16-17) in one of the co-ed cottages and he was able to have sex with some of the girls there (they were younger than 14) it was sad because they were so innocent before that, he never should have been able to do that stuff, but the staff weren't paying attention (usually on their phones). One of the good counselors helped me get psychological testing at the outpatient center which was the only helpful thing that happened for me there. When I was discharged, I didn't get a party or cake like everyone else since I was basically being kicked out because again they said "they can't help me" and that made me feel even worse. I accidentally left some clothes, makeup, snacks, and money there (because they didn't help me pack up or anything and were rushing me) and when I went to get my stuff back they told me one of the girls (the only girl that didn't like me) went through my stuff and took some of it, when I asked them if they could get my stuff back they said no and made me leave, I only got less than half of my stuff back, and didn't get the money I earned from chores. Overall a traumatic experience, I'm not even saying everything that happened while I was there because it's way too much. Anyways, I don't recommend bringing your child here, especially since I've heard it's gotten worse since I was there and idk how that's possible... Find somewhere else, with good reviews, good luck

I use to be at tanager 2 to 3 years ago my experience there was really good and I had one of the best successful discharges there, and I was in a good cottage with good staff members and kids. The good staff that use to work at Tanager don't work there anymore and after they stopped working there everything went down hill. I don't recommend parents sending there kids to Tanager regardless if there there for suicidal issues or non suicidal issues because over the years tanager has become a really bad place. The overnights fall asleep and there not suppose to and then while there asleep kids will elope/ leave campus and the higher ups blame the kids when staff need to watch the kids and do there normal checks up, yet alone THEIR JOBS!!! Staff that are with suicidal kids they won't do anything to help them, I wasn't suicidal at all when I was at tanager but the kids in other cottages were and it's just so CRAZY how kids would hurt themselves and staff get away with it when they are the ones that let kids get a hold of stuff for kids to hurt themselves. Staff at tanager never really care about the kids since kids run away and leave campus all the time. Hopefully this helps parents and or kids/teens that end up going here. Best of luck.

I was in Suncloud’s Residential, PHP, and IOP program for 5 months and it changed the course of my life. When I went in I was suffering from anxiety, depression, severe substance abuse, grief, and trauma. Today I am 5 months sober from alcohol, weed, marijuana, and nicotine, I’m enrolled in school, go to the gym, and am working towards my career. It was the hardest thing I’ve ever done in my life but I’m thankful I put in the work and showed up everyday. The staff here are some of the most compassionate, hardworking, and dedicated people and I’m so thankful to them for helping me navigate the good, the bad, and the CONFUSING parts of recovery. I’m proud of the work we were able to accomplish here and will forever cherish the lessons learned and relationships made here.

I’ve had the opportunity to collaborate with SunCloud Health on several shared cases, and I can say they provide exceptional, comprehensive care. Their multidisciplinary approach offers clients a truly integrated treatment experience. SunCloud goes beyond symptom management to address the root causes of mental health and substance use issues. I’ve consistently seen patients benefit from their thoughtful, trauma-informed care and supportive environment. Communication with their team has always been professional, timely, and collaborative. They take continuity of care seriously, which makes a huge difference in long-term outcomes. I highly recommend SunCloud Health to anyone seeking a higher level of care.

A Life-Changing Experience I cannot say enough good things about my experience at SunCloud. From the moment I arrived, I felt truly seen, heard, and cared for. The staff—from therapists, psychiatrists and support team members—are compassionate, highly skilled, and deeply committed to each individual's healing journey. Group and individual sessions are both insightful and empowering, with a strong emphasis on evidence-based practices, and trauma-informed care. What stood out most was the sense of community and genuine connection. My time here helped me develop the tools I needed to manage my mental health. I wholeheartedly recommend this facility. It truly saved my life, and I will always be grateful.

If you are a parent reading this, I know how hard it can be when your child struggles with anxiety or depression or any mental health issues. Looking into a PHP or IOP program is never on a parent’s expected list of experiences they think they will have with their child. However, I truly have so much gratitude for all they did for my daughter, and the support they also provided to me during family therapy. I felt like I had a village helping me through a difficult time. She’s thriving now, and the tools they taught her will stay with her a lifetime. Trust the process, and trust Compass.

The outpatient trauma & PTSD program has been a lifesaver for me. The entire team led by Dr. Natalie Gela is incredibly skilled, compassionate, and deeply committed to the healing process. They create an environment where it’s possible to be vulnerable, make progress, and feel genuinely cared for. The combination of group therapy structure, individualized attention, and evidence-based approaches made all the difference for me. I’ve learned tools I’ll carry with me for the rest of my life, and I'll be leaving with more hope and strength than I ever thought possible. I'm profoundly grateful for the kindness, professionalism, and dedication of everyone here. If you are struggling and looking for real support, this program is truly exceptional. Natalie & team, thank you for saving my life.

Composes, incredible! Our son was really having a hard time with school refusal and kept wiping out in classes because he’s on the spectrum. When things got really bad this year we pulled him out and sent him to compass where he learned a lot of skills to calm down. He learned to cognitive behavioral therapy and a couple of different techniques similar to that which he now carries around in a binder. We were also able to use compass to transition to another school, and the team was just incredible. They went above and beyond… Not just helping him learn the skills but frankly, they were very genuinely fond of him. He’s going to miss them a lot, and this is his first week out of the program… He keeps talking about how proud of him they were when he graduated! I cannot recommend them enough.

Im on day 5 of a jury trial. I've been a patient for 4 years. I went from 16mg down to 1mg. I haven't touched an opiate since Dec of 2021. Today, God forbid, I come in on a schefuled appointment, a day early, on a month prescription. Why? Because I happened to run out 24 hours early due to difficulties weening off subs. Something that a doctor would likely expect and appreciate. Alexis, Im sorry I didn't just hold out til Friday. I didn't want to be in full blown withdrawals during a pivotal moment in my career. Shame on me. Next month, instead of giving you full disclosure i'll tell you a fairytale. That must be so much more productive. Do you think I disclose the truth because I'm an idiot? No, it's because I actually trust professionals. You breached it. I don't want special treatment. However, if you're going to play a petty game, have the guts to say it to my face. I can't come tomorrow morning and show you my half strip. That doesn't mean I'm selling the sub strips or some other ridiculous concern. I have children who need to get to school and/or a babysitter and then I need to be in court for a trial. I can come Saturday. Hopefully that's ok with you doc. Pretty please. Lsstly, I left 5 stars because no one else had ever done this to me without saying it to my face first. I owe Symetria a lot, especially Rachel. I will remove this Saturday night. My point is Alexis, say it to the patient's face. 16mg down to 1mg and you make me feel like a criminal? Its comical. Its not like I just showed up. I rescheduled. Its called discretion. Use it.

I continue to trust Symetria staff with my life and have not been disappointed. I did not show up for a few days because I was sick….the staff there called me every day until I answered, and they got me to come back in for my treatment and back on track. It is rare to find people who truly care about you as an individual, Symetria is one of the rare companies with people who care.
