Duane is simply the best, hes very understanding, helpful and knowledgeable. Overall, my experience at Gateway Chicago was exceptional and overwhelmingly positive. From the moment I arrived, I was treated with dignity, respect, and genuine compassion. The food was good, the staff was outstanding, and my counselor, Nate, was incredibly helpful throughout my stay. Supervisor Herb is highly professional and, as he often says, he "gets things done" for the clients—a statement I personally witnessed time and time again. His leadership has had a tremendous impact on the men's unit, and he deserves recognition for creating an environment where clients feel supported, respected, and encouraged to succeed. I would also like to recognize Mike, Muhammad, Kenny, Kevin, Richard, Eva, Prentice, Katelyn, China, Mr. B, and Dale. Dale's classes are engaging, informative, and inspiring, and his passion for recovery is evident in every interaction he has with clients. Every one of these staff members demonstrated professionalism, compassion, patience, and dedication. They treated not only me but every client with kindness and respect, making recovery feel possible and giving people hope during one of the most difficult times in their lives. Gateway Chicago, located at 3828 West Taylor Street, Chicago, Illinois 60624, did far more than provide substance abuse treatment—it helped bring sanity, clarity, and serenity back into my life. The staff consistently went above and beyond to accommodate my needs and the needs of others. I witnessed countless acts of generosity and compassion. For example, today the facility distributed an abundance of quality clothing to clients. Priority was given to those who arrived with nothing, and after everyone in need was taken care of, there were still enough clothes for others. It was just one of many examples of how Gateway genuinely cares about the people they serve. The facility itself is clean and well maintained. The beds are comfortable, clients receive three meals a day along with a snack, and the overall atmosphere promotes healing and recovery. While anyone can find something to criticize about any organization, I found very few, if any, faults with Gateway Chicago. My overall experience exceeded my expectations. I am sincerely grateful to the ownership, the corporate leadership, and every member of the staff for the hard work, compassion, passion, and dedication they show every day to individuals seeking recovery. Most importantly, I am grateful that Gateway helped me regain peace of mind, hope for the future, and the serenity I had been missing for so long. I wholeheartedly recommend Gateway Chicago to anyone seeking treatment. Their commitment to helping people rebuild their lives is evident in everything they do, and I will always be thankful for the care and support I received there.

Great place to go and have some good staff members. So thankful for the experience and gateway fot saving my life. Highly recommended. Some people come just to get a certificate. I came and earned mine with all the knowledge they had. So thankful to this program. I was hesitant at first but glad I came into the program.

I heard about this facility from a friend and I decided to give it a try. The program works really well if you put in the work. The food is great and the staff hold you accountable, the facility could be a little bit cleaner but with one cleaning lady who puts in a lot of work what do you expect.This facility makes you feel like you will be ready to get out there on your own and succeed on your recovery journey.

I can't stand the negative reviews. YES I WAS THERE. Six months ago, I almost didn't stay but I did. Such incredible staff and an incredible program. Met some of the greatest people to ever want to change their life around. Residential was amazing. PHP also an incredible program attended both with full support from all staff and peers. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND RECOVERY WORKS TO ANYONE WHO WANTS TO BETTER THEMSELVES.

The people saying that the food was like Cook county jail's food obviously never been to Cook county. It's like they say it only works if you work it this place takes a lot of people that don't have insurance therefore they probably don't make a lot of money but overall the people care they care enough to take care of people that can't take care of themselves and can't afford it either. It's truly disturbing that a lot of people gave a one-star rating just because of food. This place saved my life, I was on Mater Hall with my child. I loved Mater Hall and most of the counselors, and caseworkers.. Ms Pink and Ms Jones were just case workers and I felt I got more advice and help from them, Emily was also extremely helpful and supportive. I recommend this place fully!! The focus is getting clean not being pampered like your on vacation !!!

Shout out to Ms. Jones and Ms. D aka Ms. PINK 🩷 Ms. Jebriyah Ms. Daryce and Ms. Michelle of mater hall, they make staying worth it with their down to earthness and constant support. They really understand us women and what we go thru. I won't say the same for the supervisor Emily who literally runs a maternity ward and will deny you your cravings no matter how reasonable it is. She made it feel like a prison with your special commissary and be thankful you even eat attitude. Pregnant woman should be allowed SWEETS AND ICE CREAM especially if those items can be purchased downstairs in the pharmacy. My time at Haymarket flew by and I was able to complete 22 days successfully and get my first ever certification of completion 🤗 and have been able to stay sober since I've been home. Going back to the staff above I constantly remember things they said that stuck with me and all the support they gave just by being real. Haymarket food isn't the best consider it county food but they did end up hooking a girl up due to health issues (shout out to Danielle &Wanda) also their doula program is AMAZING the doulas they have are the absolute best (Alexis and Crystal!) they also have powerful testimonies and really care about you as a person and a mother. The counselors and caseworkers they have also help manage your case (shout out Ms Lisa!) Once again I'm greatful to this place for employing staff who have powerful testimony and can actually relate to where you are in your recovery journey. All jokes aside they should have a security officer on the floor at all times it was a little intense with all the fighting 🫣 Thank you to the staff at Haymarket for everything and for my floor mates for making the time go by fast and for the life long friendships made!

I’ve seen some of the negative reviews here, and I wanted to share a different perspective. This is difficult work. The staff often meet people on some of the hardest days of their lives, and those situations aren’t always easy. I’ve personally seen staff deal with some incredibly difficult circumstances, and I’ve been impressed by the patience, kindness, and professionalism they show. Are things always perfect? Of course not. But there are a lot of really good people here who care about what they do and genuinely want to help. I think that deserves to be said, too.

I love this lil gem that's been a Godsend in my life. I never knew this Dr's ofc was inside as I drove many times past. It's an AWESOME place for those who suffer from depression or any mental illness. I love it bcuz it's one stop shop w/psychiatry Dr's & therapists together in a small, intimate, private setting. The Dr's are phenomenal & the therapists are excellent. I've been suffering w/depression for awhile now going from Dr. to Dr. on the same meds that weren't helping, looking for someone long term to help me. I've been here nearly 5 weeks & feel a million times better than when I orginally walked in. The medication (if needed) & therapy together work wonders. I'm so relieved to have found this place & finally am seeing a light at the end of a very dark tunnel.

I’ve never written a review like this before, but Belinda at Regional Health absolutely deserves it. She is, without exaggeration, the sweetest and most genuinely caring person I have ever dealt with at any establishment. I’ve never even met her in person, yet she has treated me with more kindness, consistency, and dedication than most people you meet face-to-face. Belinda goes above and beyond in every way. She helped me find an amazing doctor, made sure my medications were taken care of, and anytime she said she would do something, I knew for a fact it would get done. No doubts. No chasing. No stress. There were days she even made late calls just to make sure everything was handled for me, then followed up to confirm things went smoothly. It’s rare to find someone in healthcare who brings this level of compassion and follow-through. She has made my life a million times easier, and I’m genuinely grateful for her. Let me just say I was a patient at Medmark for years and above everything no matter what because they open at 4:45 AM says it all. They generally want to meet everyday people’s needs to live a normal life.In and out the door before 5am to do what you need to do w your life. Try and find another clinic that does that for you. I do not typically do these reviews however I felt very strongly I needed to. I have been in the program for over 7 years. The program honestly saved my life after trying several other things. My addiction became like most had back problems and my doctors were very free to prescribe the opioids and benzodiazepines. Xanax was actually the worst for me hospitalized for over 10 days due to all the seizures. Anyways the nurses Yolanda Jackie Val are sweethearts and have never judged me once. Yolanda is the one person who always tells me she is proud of me I don’t even hear that from family. Kim who runs front desk is also great. In my experience I have had around 6 counselors and sorry to say this is the downfall here. I don’t know if they are overworked micromanaged or just don’t care but I have had to go elsewhere for my counseling. I have promise for my new counselor April who is new to this location. Since starting she has been on top on my case not letting anything slide. She gets accomplished what the 5 others took months to do and I appreciate that. Non judgmental follow-up and just caring she accomplishes where most can’t and this is what keeps me clean and alive and I thank her for that more than I can say. Doctor is a different story for a different day I will just say to the women ask that a third person be in the room. That’s all!

But recently it's a problem with the insurance they say I have to pay $20 weekly because my insurance didn't pay but they have not given me proof of the months not paid I have my proof. But yet I have to wait and see there proof it's been almost 30 days now I have been paying that's not legal and on top of that they have billed 2 of my insurance
