I am so extremely grateful for the WIC dept of Grundy county. I have had the pleasure of working with Stacy who is very personable and genuinely kind. She truly cares for the people who come in needing assistance. She made the on boarding process very easy and was always accommodating of my schedule. She encouraged me through the transition from breast milk to formula and told me I did a great job sticking it out as long as I did. When I came to Symetria I was fairly depressed about my abuse of alcohol. I knew it wasn’t who I truly was and I needed the help to recognize positive ways to help me identify what I was doing that put me into a downward cycle of binge drinking. Through the Intensive Outpatient program coupled with Individual counseling and attending SMART meetings I discovered a clear path to follow to stop what I was doing and move forward in life without alcohol. The Staff at Symetria Recovery ( Deborah, Anna , Maria, Elsa , etc..) all treat their patients like family. They are all so Caring, Loving and Supportive. After 10 years of battling addiction to various drugs I went to ECS for 28 days of rehab. It was a life changing experience that started on 11/29/2018. I have been in recovery for nearly 2 years now. I’ve become close with my family and opened a personal training business helping men in rehab and employing men in recovery. I have also gotten my position as a general foreman back at my regular Job as well as my freedom in my life and am a better man than I have ever been thanks to the counselors, staff and Dr Sharma at ECS.
A 6 year sober and in recovery update. I am now making over a quarter million a year with a Fortune 500 company, have kids who love and respect me again, 2 homes in 2 states, real friendships and a life beyond my wildest dreams. I'm an alcoholic, have been for years. I got treatment before I decided to give the Gateway, Iopc,a try. Im not religious and religion isnt pushed at GateWay Iopc, which is why i gave it a try. My Dr suggested it so I decided to do that treatment after my detox. Also my counselor Dan in the Joliet office is a great counselor. I, like most people are closed off when going thru this process. Eventually you will begin to open up when you see there is several other people dealing and going thru a similar situation as yourself. And believe me Im the most closed off person there is. You may not agree with all of it, as I didn't, but there are parts that's help. Everyone is dealing with something different and everyone is affected differently. Focus on yourself and don't let outside influences stop you from what you want.

Paramo is a great person and educator! His professional evaluation of me proved that I didn't have addiction issues, but I am thankful that I was still required to take the classes. I didn't expect to learn as much as I did about alcohol and how easy it is to fall into a pattern of drinking that can lead to addiction. That knowledge is important and has made me more aware of unhealthy patterns. Also, he reminded us that if you plan to drink DO NOT drive. Have a designated driver. Also have the Lyft and Uber App installed on your phone ready to use, just in case your DD doesn't follow through with their sobriety. Thank you Paramo!

I would pick St. Joseph hospital ANY DAY over Silver Cross!!!!! When coming out of recovery, I had a PTSD attack & the nurses their handled it very kindly & effectively w/o any drugs. At Silver Cross they immediately jumped into injecting me with drugs & shipped me off to Silver Oaks!!!!!! I'm ALREADY in a doctor's care for my PTSD & they NEVER notified her that they kidnapped me! My PTSD was worse than ever after leaving that place. Stick with St. Joe's if you value your life!!!!!
