I recently got discharged from a 4-day stay here. From the minute I was admitted I was told what was going on and questions were most certainly welcomed. I got a tour of the unit and my bedroom and was introduced to my roommate right away. I have a gluten and lactose intolerance, and the staff sat down and asked what I would like to eat and accommodated my needs. The food is great and there's plenty of options. Anytime you need something you can walk over to the nurse's station and they'll be able to help you. My nurses and the techs and the doctor were exceptional! I especially want to thank Katey, the group organizer. She and I painted and sat and talked and she said she really wanted to be a part of my healing journey and found material for our groups to help me out. I enjoyed the relaxed schedule where groups are in the morning and early afternoon and if they don't fit your needs you don't have to attend. I was able to take naps when I was tired or feeling unwell, and one night they let me sleep on the couch because I felt more comfortable doing so. I was also able to take showers at my request and recieve fresh scrubs, socks, and undergarments daily. You can also take in a phone call list and call your friends and family any time you'd like. I can't express how good this place is, and how amazing it is that I got in when they only have 7 beds at the moment. If you're looking for help for you or someone else and the person needing help is 18 or older, please go here! It's worth the drive to get the help you need!

I had a client of my nonprofit, LITE, who needed access to a safe place overnight until we could find him a residential recovery program. He'd completed a detox program but we hadn't secured a "bed" for him at this next stop. Jill was welcoming and helpful and we were able to provide our client a comforting, safe space. He is now working through his recovery at the next stop thanks to this facility!

My experience at the Huntington Bowen center has been great. The staff is helpful and always willing to accommodate me. My son and I both go here. I'd like to mention the wonderful caregivers who have bettered our lives. Firstly, Erin Hollowell is amazing with children. She's worked with my son and we've had family sessions that have resolved issues that seemed hopeless. She offers realistic advice and provides a plan that can help future issues. I appreciate how well she is able to articulate both side's perspectives and offer valuable feedback without undermining either of us. Fay Montague is a wonderful doctor who diligently worked to come up with a plan to help our family. It took months to see an improvement but she was persistent and showed our family so much compassion during one of the hardest times of our lives. I went from feeling endless frustration and wanting to give up to feeling hope for the first time in months and finally the results that we prayed for. Aaron Crump is an amazing therapist. He is so insightful and smart. He is able to reframe my situations in such a way that my perception shifts. Instead of offering pointless validation he challenges me by asking questions that lead me to a better understanding. It's so helpful when I'm feeling stuck in an unhealthy thought cycle and has improved my self esteem so much. I'm more reflective and have more self compassion. Don't let the other reviews persuade you. Our Bowen center is filled with providers who consistently do their best to improve the lives of their patients. This location is so much better than the ones in the surrounding community. Thank you for all you do.

I dont know why the rating is the way it is, I come here for mental health therapy and I think so far that my therapist is great and I am a very hard man to get along with because of my physical and mental health trauma in my past. My therapist, Brandy, is excellent and listens, and is also very real. I have been with Bowen for many years through Fort Wayne, Indianapolis, and now Huntington. I currently live in Indianapolis and travel over two hours one way to come to therapy, this is how good Bowen is in my eyes.

Our son who has suffered from mental illness for many years has recently spent two months at ICFR. This option has never been available to us in the St. Louis area. Our past options have been mostly short-term hospitalization when conditions became severe. I can’t say enough good things about ICFR. The facility is very impressive and the staff is friendly, experienced and treat all residents with compassion and kindness. Partly because a good number of the staff have either themselves or their loved ones experienced different forms of mental illness/addiction at some point in their life and thus understand what the residents are going through. We also were very pleased with the periodic updates that were provided to us during his stay. We are so grateful to Danielle (therapist), Shayla (case worker), Dawn (nurse practitioner), staff that I had the pleasure meeting in person, and the rest of the healthcare workers team. While our son was very reluctant at the beginning and took a lot of convincing, at the end he was very pleased of the time he spent at ICFR (the above feedback we got from him). We wholeheartedly recommend ICFR with no reservation.

My time at ICfR has been a roller coaster in the best way. Recovery from addiction or mental health is never easy, but the staff at the Mishawaka location has made my journey as smooth as possible and I know I've made lifelong supports and friends here. I leave soon, and though I hope I'll never need to come back as a client, I pray I can come back and give the same experience I had to someone else that needs the help ICfR provides. No pool, though. :) The entire staff in Sept 2025 is amazing. Raises all around, or at least free lunch. Love y'all; Billy Bob.

A very good place to receive low-cost mental healthcare. If you need help, I can honestly urge you to give them a chance. You deserve the chance. I'm pleased to say that there has been many good changes at Oaklawn. I've been going here off and on in the 40+ years since I was in high school (back when it was known as Madison Center), and 99% of the psychiatrists and counselors have always been very good. Though they are not immune from their own confirmation bias. Unfortunately, even though I like most of them, frontline staff has been in the past unsympathetic and cruel. When you're mentally ill, specifically having Major Depressive Disorder, doing anything at all can seem like an impossible task. Just getting out of bed can be terrifying and seem to have no point. And after you had to fight yourself and the world to get there, being required to fight for yourself and the respect everyone deserves, in a place where they're supposed to be there to help people with mental illnesses, is really not just inappropriate but unforgivable. Fortunately, management is approachable, and will listen. At least they have to me, and have thanked me for bringing certain issues to their attention. Even writing me a letter a week or so after we spoke. I don't work there, and I only know the things that I've seen and experienced firsthand, but it seems like a much friendlier place to work, less sterile. Which I'm sure positively affects the frontline staffs attitudes. And though frontline staff can seem clickish, and move to defend themselves as a group when one is criticized by a patient, say by gaslighting that patient, management is aware that that is inappropriate. In the 5 years since my previous review, I only recall one single negative experience. ================ Older Review from 2020: A decent place for low cost psychiatric care. But the front desk staff in the Physicians floor can be extraordinary rude and unsympathetic. Especially if you mention any displeasure with Oaklawn's rules, they seem to take it as a personal insult, and really need to get a job outside of psychiatric care, because they are not suited for it. They are also discouraging when you come to make an appointment, or pick up patient assistance medications, Etc. They often don't know what they're talking about, so don't let them discourage you from what you're trying to do and insist that they pass on messages to the people and doctors you are trying to contact.

Personally, the residential program at michiana helped me SO much. It's run by an amazing program manager, Becca, who goes out of her way to make sure you get the help you need. I spent almost 4 months there and I have to say I'm going to miss it. At first I hated it but over time it insentivised me to change and it helped me love myself enough to want that change. I had a visitation one time and my mom hadnt seen me in like 2 months and she said i was literally glowing, like this program helped put life back in me. Also, staff are so nice and caring. And while some got on my nerves they only had the best intentions. I'll truly never forget what I learned here. Thank you RTC. :) -Lilly

My Daughter spent 7 wks at Michiana after many other levels of mental health help in other places weren't effective. It is so hard trusting people you don't know to help your Child. They made the process as easy as they could. We received excellent communication from them about our Daughter during her stay and I really felt like each person cared about her. They were also great at communicating with our insurance company. Unfortunately our insurance stopped paying for her care. Even though it wasn't time for her to be discharged, she seems to be in a much better place with her mental health. It truly was hard to say goodbye to this special team of people who helped our Daughter and our Family💛

And I seen Yolanda and she is fantastic. She listens she has such a kind heart but will tell me if I’m doing something I should. She builds me up and makes me pro Ise to stop putting myself down. She is absolutely amazing and the fact that they heard the hurt in my voice when I called and got me on schedule for the next day is amazing. My children also go to the same place and their therapist is amazing as well. He listens to them as individuals. So anybody needing someone this place worked wonders for me and my kids. My kids see Nick and he’s one in a million for my kids. They are love going.

I have been working with Grant for a while, and he is the best I have had in the many years of getting mental health help, Sean and Trey have been helpful with getting my appointments scheduled, I have never had to "wait months" to get an appointment set with Grant.
